as much as i wish she did like him or love him or even at least have feelings for him she doesn't because she spoke it in the ancient language and you can't lie when you speak in that tongue. there may be something later, like she may feel something for him, but i don't know...i don't think it will happen.

Yeah but I have a feeling that Their feelings might get messed up if the dragons get involved or whatever. Since eragon and arya are bothed linked....(arya will be linked soo enough) to their dragons it would interfere with certain things in their relationship. That's what I fear.

I don't want the dragons to interfere or anything with eragons and arya's relationship..that's what I am saying and I believe you have said so yourself as well. Their feelings may change because they are linked to their dragon and whatnot....but I don't know it could all turn out well. And yes I am HOPING for them to get together!

Hmm..I agree. First Eragon needs to focus more about what he really needs to do. But that's not to say that nothing won't happen. Anywas like you have stated he needs to focus more on the empire and galbatorix, rather than starting a relationship right off the bat.

Like I said Arya is not one to lie to people such as Eragon. She was also very sincere in what she said as well and Eragon understood that even though it was not what he wanted to hear exactly. Then there is also the fact of course that she spoke her wrods in the AL...but there is more to it than just that...Arya mean what she said and we could all tell, especially Eragon.

I just don't buy it. We have known Arya and her character for long enough. We have seen how she acts and reacts and what she does. We know her now quite well I think and whether she would lie or not. She probably could keep a straight face but still knowing her and her character well enough now and seeing how she speaks, does, and what emotions she has she was extremelly sincere in what she said and meant. There are so many things during that part that tell us that she was serious, she spoke it in AL, and she meant what she said to Eragon at that particular time.

At that time Eragon was pretty much fluent. We saw it as english, so it's not like he didn't know some of the words.

He DID know what she was saying. One, she wanted to get her point across clearly, so she wouldn't use any words he doesn't know. Besides which it's not like Arya to decieve Eragon like that.

No, Arya wouldn't do that. it's out of character. She has feelings for him, but only those of a friend. That can easily grow into true love.

Yes and she made that very clear to Eragon as well. It's funny how it usually happens that way..friendship then true love. Well sometimes it happens immediately but it works better if you are friends first. I just think it's more important how Arya told and said it to Eragon and how she meant it(sincerely) rather than her speaking in the AL. It is very important that she did speak it in the AL but it means more with how you mean it and how it comes across really. Anyways I agree frindship first, then relationship/love later...will work out better I suppose.

Nah..doubt it. Think about the prophecy and the dreams, even though we have yet no proof that they are absolutely true. It's possible for her to be alone but, I get the feeling that somehow, whether with Eragon or someone else, she will be with someone, most likely as we can see Eragon...hopefully. I think that CP throughout Eragon and Eldest has left us too many key hints that tell us that Arya will end up with someone. Just what i think really, too much going for her character for her to be alone, even though it's still a possibility.

Nah, she's not gonna wind up alone. Eragon and Arya were litterally made for each other. (I know it sounds a bit gushy, but it had to be said)

I kind of doubt that Arya really likes Eragon, but she does seem to have at least a friendship bond with Eragon. Remember, at the beginning of Eldest, when asked to go into the caves to find Murtagh, she says "for you" before leaving. There is no doubt she has some effection for Eragon. Or maybe she's only doing all this for Saphira. After all, she WAS the caretaker of Saphira's egg for a long time.
