 Re: Poems!!!
well from reading your poems you can see you're a talented writer, so yeah, that's why people have confidence in you lol.
I kind of do... I have a little bit of a bad memory for some things... only some things lol.
I'll try to come up with one tonight and post it later, see how it goes lol.

 Re: Poems!!!
wow, thanks. I honestly don't think they're any good; I think I'm better at writing actual stories rather than poems. Stories are easier to edit, you know?
Ah. I know how that goes. Trust me. lol.
Awesome; can't wait to see how it goes.

 Re: Poems!!!

 Re: Poems!!!
Oh...thanx, that's really nice of you. I'm surprised any of my rps have turned out 'adequet' 'cause I take a while to make it sound...nice. Geez, allow me to compliment you too! You're good at writing too. There.
Yeah. Really. The things I forget...I'm surprised I can spell my name! Astrallwing. Wait... lol.
Now who's lacking confidence? Come on, it can't be as bad as mine, so let's see it!

 Re: Poems!!!
I take pride in the fact that I only remember the haiku syllables because of an Avatar episode
I like your poem, Astralwing I especially like how you didn't sacrifice meaning for the sake of rhyming. I don't think it needs that much tuning up; seems fine to me. =) Then again, I'm no poet, or critic.

Arya : Did you make that up or get it from somewhere? It's funny! heehee.
Toph : Aw, thanks. lol Most of my poems rhyme, though sometimes at the end they don't. O.o lol, the first time I learned about a haiku was from a South Park episode when Kyle was making fun of Cartman.

 Re: Poems!!!
I love haikus. At first I did the same thing. I thought it was seven five seven too! And when I wrote one for class I got a big, fat F. This is one I wrote the other day.
Snow lovely in grace, Peaks as high as the heavens, Bearing no mercy.

 Re: Poems!!!
Ooo, I love it. It makes sense; the snow is beautiful but it has a danger behind it. Muahaha! lol, JK.
I, um, wrote this poem one day...it's really depressing, and I apologize, but I think my good poems are depressing ones. O.o
Hidden Shadows
I'm tearing up inside The talons of reality have a hold on me I can't seem to find my direction Of who I'm supposed to be.
My emotions cloud my better judgement And fill my eyes with cascading tears Though I try so hard to hide from The nightmares and the fears
Of which I fight. The world I once knew is not the same. You made that clear as the years went by The life you told me you led Was nothing but a lie.
My childhood was nothig but a happy illusion I was told I ws loved and I could believe Now the shadows that lay hidden have come forth I have saddness I cannot relieve
I will not dwell within my broken heart. No, I will make a better life for myself Than the one you tried to set up for me. I will grow my wings and set myself free.
(I wrote this for a story that I'm writing...)

@Astralwing: It's from a TV show, lol. Nice poem by the way! Dark poems are often the most powerful and meaningful, at least from what people have posted here.

really? I guess you're more observant than me. or maybe it's just that when you write dark poems they all sound the same? or that since they're dark they sound similar? idk

Thanks, guys.
Arya: Ah, well, it was still funny And I see your point; there seems to be a message within each one...
Silver: Yeah, I guess I can see where you're coming from. The dark poems seem to be more popular nowadays, I mean, writing them. Is that what you meant, btw?
Red: I hope we still get to see your haiku, even if you're working on it! lol.

Nah, I just meant they sound like they're from the same perspective and take the same outlook. Try to represent your "darkness" another way. Just an idea.

 Re: Poems!!!
wow i havent written a poem in months. well here's one i wrote last night off the top of my head. I was feeling very.....bad, when i wrote it.
Ahem....
sleep, thou dost cover mine soul in a blanket of well worn oblivion, and in thy folds i dreamest of the soft blackness of merciful apathy. No longer careing, no longer brooding on and on in an endless wave of doubt and self loathing, cover me sweet sleep. Hold me to your breast as mother would a child, and whisper a chant of peace that i drink in like a man dying of thirst. Bless thou sweet sleep, the last gift a man shall be granted at the end of each day.

Sci-Fi Aliens, Planets and other things, Four eyed humans and foriegn beings Spaceships, Hovercrafts, Hyperspace This universe we live in is a real odd place Bright blue frogs and hand grenades, Odd foriegn weapons shooting lemonade Battles in space, That's a real odd place, And who fights over a vaccuum?
Someday an intergalactic war Will come up marching at our door And real odd creatures with real odd brains, That love water and hate our rains, Are going to try to take over earth.

 Re: Poems!!!
A MASK YOU WONT LOOK THROUGH
What do you see When you look at me? Big innocent eyes? A full smiling mouth? Do you see any further than that? Have you ever thought to look? No... No i didn't think so. You see my face, But not what lies beneath it. You've missed the tears in those big eyes. You've missed the sad twist In the corner of that smile That curves my lips. And perhaps You chose to ignore The cold bitterness In the expression on my face. But trust me it's there. Hidden beneath the manic laughter, and crazed cheerful smile. I sigh. No...You see nothing In my face. Nothing except what i offer up to you, And you so readily accept it Rather than ask me what's wrong. You are blind to me. Just as the world is blind to you. How typical. How perfect.
NIGHT SKIES
Ruby red and burning blue golden yellow soft and true. Swirling ribbons diamond bright, of slowly falling cold moonlight. The stars, like gems, glint high above in constellations that we love. Cast across black velvet sky their beauty makes my spirit cry.

 Re: Poems!!!
I have no idea what this poem is supposed to mean. maybe someone else can tell me what they think it means?
Empty eyes, empty soul Half a heart, half a whole. Distant thoughts and apathy, Lacking life’s sweet energy.
Paths are stretching all around, Questions, so many questions, With answers that cannot be found.
I am here and I am there, I am no- and everywhere. Stretching wide, and stretching thin, What once had ended Now again will begin.

Hope
expectation, desire, longing, hope I look everywhere and in every possible place In every face, every smile Yet, I have not seen hope in a while Is it male, female Truth or myth? expectation, desire, longing, hope Is it real, does it exist?

 Re: Poems!!!
I suppose you could call them song lyrics, but I like to call them poetry. Work out the meaning for yourself.
Forcing brown-black nectar into a cold vein, An analgesic dragon to burn away the pain, This china white doll may be pretty right now, But you'll drop it, it'll smash, and then you'll realise how:
Your mother's always crying and your father's gone away, There's a price for total bliss that you're gonna have to pay, You might not see the dawn of tomorrows painful day, Yet your only question is 'Where does my needle lay?'
Rehab is for quitters, you wanna carry on, Back to that place where the sun always shone, This powder and this spoon and this needle and this flame, Keys to a place where you throw away your shame.
Your mother's always crying and your father's gone away, There's a price for total bliss that you're gonna have to pay, You might not see the dawn of tomorrows painful day, Yet your only question is 'Where does my needle lay?'
Liquidise, pour it in, shoot it up, BOOM, You're dancing with the stars and you're standing on the moon, The world's a million miles away and so are all your fears, But little do you know that it's gonna end in tears.
Your mother's always crying and your father's gone away, There's a price for total bliss that you're gonna have to pay, You might not see the dawn of tomorrows painful day, Yet your only question is 'Where does my needle lay?'
Every silver lining is clung to by a cloud, Despair is here to cover you, like an iron shroud You went too far this time, it's time to say goodbye This life rejected you so you left by getting high.
Your mother's always crying and your father's gone away, There's a price for total bliss that you're gonna have to pay, You might not see the dawn of tomorrows painful day, Yet your only question is 'Where does my needle lay?'

 Re: Poems!!!
Here's one I wrote... well... a few anyway... None doth know the sleeping star Whose glow is pale and dim, With fading light so soft and white That none can catch a glimpse. None doth know the darkened star, Whose glow hath ceased to shine. Though many search, both far and near, It holds no light to find. All doth know the fallen star, Full of hate and shame. It sought to wear a crown of gold, Yet it awakened naught but blame. None doth know the weeping star, Whose guilt doth match its pride. It sought to make right all life’s wrongs But turned like the evening tide. All doth know the betrayer’s star, Whose glow was of scarlet blood. Why did this traitor never see That it could have redeeming love? All doth know the dying star, Defeated at last, it seemed. For whoever thought that the dead could rise, Even within a dream? All doth know of the risen star, With love so pure and whole. Fallen to Earth to save the lost And rescue His people’s souls. Yet few doth know, truly know, Of with whom their lot is cast. They know not if, when they die, They’ll truly go home at last. Do you know which star is yours, And who is waiting at the end for you? Is it the serpent with the twisted tongue Or the perfect star whose ways are true? Do you really believe, Or have you been fooled? Have you been tricked to becoming The serpent’s tool? Few doth look to the star within, To make sure it appears as they say, To see if it mirrors the grace they proclaim, To see if, in the end, their empty words will send them away. Do you know? Okay, the next one... Have you heard the wind’s new song? Have you heard it tell of war? It sings of battles still to come, And more dying than before. Have you heard the wind’s old rhyme? It tells of rumored things. Such as castles, knights, and dragons. And princesses and kings. Have you heard the wind’s grand tale Of kingdoms far away, Places never seen before, Where love and peace hold sway? Years go by, as they must, For time can never stop. Hate does fill our humble world Just as numbers fill a clock. Have you heard the wind’s new voice Full of angry fire? It tried to warn of things to come, Now it lights a funeral pyre. Have heard the wind’s new wrath, Against the world it sees? It tells of hate and death and blood As it blows gently through dead trees. Have heard the wind’s outcry, For peace to reign again? It begs for mercy on the earth And for our God, a light to send. Years go by, as they must, For time can never stop. Wonder fills our humble world As numbers fill a clock. Have you heard the wind’s new joy? It seems a light has come! The wind does tell of a savior now, God’s one and only son. Have you heard the wind’s new croon So full of love and faith? It whispers of the savior’s light, And tells stories of a coming grace. Years go by, as they must, For time can never stop. Hate again fills our world Such as numbers fill a clock. Have you heard the wind’s new fury? Cast on the traitor’s foolish pride. The traitor sold for silver coins The savior with no sin to hide. Have you heard the winds new woe? For the savior has been killed. The wind does sing a dreadful song Of sorrows in such that none can build. Have you heard the winds glory? The stone was rolled away. But inside the tomb there was no corpse, For the savior rose again that day! Years go by, as they must, For time can never stop. Hate still fills our humble world As numbers fill a clock. Have you heard the winds new chant? It seems our world will end. But who would believe in such a troubled fate, And wrath no man can rend? Have you heard the foolish wind, Singing of impossible things? What could be more important still, Than our idols and our kings? Have you heard the winds sad prayer, For our world and kind? Have you heard it pleading for None to be left behind. Have you heard the wind lately? These days it’s never seen or heard. Not one breeze to lift a sparrow, Not one breath to carry one bird. Years go by, as they must, For time can never stop. Terror fills our humble world As numbers fill a clock. Have you heard the wind coming? It seems it’s returned at last. It bears upon its strongest gale Ghosts that died sometime past. Have you heard the wind’s new call, As the savior destroys this earth. It seems as if all could have been saved And joining in the wind’s glad mirth. Have you heard the wind’s last song? Of a kingdom on earth to roam? It seems the wind has finished its work And at last it has returned home. Have you heard the savior’s song? Of a villain that at last is gone? It seems that time will no longer pass As our world is empty of wrong. Okay, one more. After someone else posts I'll put some more... Upon the still sleeping sand, The calm and glowing shore, A maiden’s sobs echo through the night For the prince will come nevermore. For born aloft, he was, Upon the dragon’s ashen wings, Carried to another land Where still do shadows sing. A gray wolf howled somewhere in The quiet of that place. And from a cave crept lions white Surrounded by light’s grace. The lions watched in silence As the prince looked on. One moment they were standing there, The next minute, they were gone. The dragon flew above him While the prince surveyed the land. Never had they chanced to view A kingdom quite so grand. The prince, he sought to own it all, With no thought for what it was. He did not know that it was dead And soaked right through with blood. He found a cave of elves And slaughtered them in greed. One elf there, he let to live, But did not, her warning heed. “Ruin shall soon come about, Oh prince, you should depart. If you remain here, in these dead lands, The king will note the shadow in your heart.” The prince then scoffed and sent her on To find some stone with which to build A castle that could ne’er be breached. When she returned, she was quickly killed. The dragon looked, with wrathful scorn, Upon the prince who sneered: “I am lord and none shall find This land that none have neared.” The castle rose upon a mount, Though the dragon’s hate increased. He begged the prince to stop this folly But the prince would never cease. He went back to the land he left, To gather faithful souls. He brought them back to his dead land; Some sold themselves for gold. He found a wife and raised a son, For he must have an heir. He finally thought to look about For a crown that he could wear. “It must be splendid, above all else, Made with more than jewels. It must hold power, might, and desire.” And it must contain the people’s fears, for the prince was cruel. He went alone on a search For what he thought was his. Little did he know that, in the land below, A serpent was rising, for blood twas sorely missed. The serpent was well known, from all common lure, The tales of the less known tribes, spoken in dark tongues. They howl and they scream, for great is their pain, The serpent speaks to them like a burning in their lungs. The serpent was as ash, lurking in the dark, Seeking the lost prince, it crept into the day. It sought to win this war with wit, so thus disguised itself, It took the form of man and pounced upon its prey. The prince wondered as to where From which this man had come. This man studied him with hate, And produced a stone with thrum. He glared at the lost prince, Standing straight and tall. “I give to you this stone, so Bow to you will all.” Greed filled the prince’s eyes as he looked upon the stone. It glowed a pulsing green, with blood red shining veins. The prince reached out for this stone, but it was snatched away. The man before him snarled. “One condition before you own such tempting earthly things.” The prince reluctantly agreed, “What ere’ you want is yours” The man smiled “I require only your soul.” The prince stared with much ill will, but greed then filled his heart. “You shall have it then, for such a charm as that, tis’ only a fair toll.” They tied themselves with twine And signed a pact in blood. They then parted ways And thus, the deed was done. Many years then passed, Then the serpent claimed his prize. At a midnight ball The prince paid for folly with his life. He yet lives on, though with no form, And his son has no rule Ore the kingdom his father made, Whoever thought fate was so cruel. But there is yet hope, in the way of a scribe, An elder of sorts, a wisp of a ghost. When the Stars song comes to them again, When the stars sing, there will be hope. The searchers look on, for the stars song, Yet corrupt are their hearts and they ride on no more. The king is a fool, and covets his stone The princess is lost, the prince trapped in bone. The cause is now lost, The purpose forgotten. The stars have gone dark, And the souls are now rotting. The king has been felled, And the princess was taken. The prince is now lost, And the kingdom was shaken. To the core of all despair, Does our kingdom shiver. The people are crooked arrows, Drawn from a broken quiver. No songs will be sung, No hope will remain. Until the prince returns, Until the darkness is slain. Like smoke come from ash, Our kingdom is falling. For a leader we cry, For a king we are calling. The prince has returned, And the darkness is slain. But the prince, he is doomed, The darkstars his bane. But do not despair, The stars are now sleeping, There will later be time For blood, death, and weeping. The Stars song must come to save all of the people, He must arrive here now quickly. Yet we all fear his coming, for then the wars will rage, For then blood will pour thickly. Late is the hour, The Stars song is here. Now is the time For trembling and fear. The king has returned, Though soulless and weak. He needs a new form, It’s Stars song he seeks. Stars song is brave, and fights for our prince. The prince, he is dying, though valiant to all ends. He and Stars song fight, together now, as one. But, despite all their efforts, this is a war that they cannot win. Fighting does nothing, There’s nowhere to run. The king, he is many, And Stars song is one. The Stars song is dead, By his hand, his own. The darkness is gone, But too great was the toll. But there is another, who might save the prince. The light in the darkness, our last defense. The Stars song’s son, seven from seven, May save us from death, and fire intense… Hope you liked them

 Re: Poems!!!
O.O Wow. Those are amazing. But BTW, religion is only allowed in a certain part of the forum, so you might want to edit out the second one. Here's mine:
Shining water
Looking down at Blind Slough Watching the water flowing back to the sea. Seeing the ripples reflect the sun's light, like points of fire on the waves. Seeing the fire wink out of sight- Watching it come back again. Watching the last flames dissapear To come back, to live again, Someday.
Flying through the Sea
Flying through the waters, Feeling exhileration run through me as i shoot over the waves. Feeling the sea spray on my arm, Hearing the water falling back to the sea, I am filled with excitement as i fly Over the sea.
The next two i wrote on the plane to Japan, the two after that i wrote on a hike by a lake.
Takeoff
The plane is humming, The lights go dim, My ears pop as we prepare for liftoff. Finally, we begin to move, Slowly at first, but getting faster. Then suddenly, the ground is gone, The trees are tiny, My stomach is a mile away. I see an island, the size of my hand, And a jetboat skimming through the waves. And i see the ocean, extending to the horizon, Forevermore.
Land among the clouds
Flying above the clouds, Looking out into an ocean of cottony white. Lit up by the sun, Glorious and shining, A new, endless land of white. Unexplored, this new country Awaits me, begging for Someone to come. The plane plunges back to earth, And my new world is gone.
By the lake
Looking out over the water, Seeing fall's leaves sprinkled over the crystalline lake. Seeing the sun sparkling on the waves, Seeing the waves, green and blue. Watching a moth fluttering through the trees, The fish in the water, A duck leading her ducklings on a swim. Feeling the forest's serenity in me and Wishing i could stay forever.
Brook
Watching the water bubbling over the rocks, Seeing the water shining, Seeing the sun pierce the water of the brook, Down to the sand underneath the surface. Seeing the water, Foaming and bubbling, Tumbling to the lake below.
EDIT: Tomorrow we're going back to Alaska. Tonight (It's 8:40 pm in Japan) it's a bit chilly, and drizzling a bit, and the weather reminded me of home. I don't get homesick easily, but it's been more than two weeks that i've been in Japan, and i want to go back to my little island with the tiny town and total lack of crowds.
Homesick
I'm standing on the porch in my little nightgown, Thin protection from the wind and the rain. I ought to go inside, but it's really amazing- It reminds me of home. The air, so cold my teeth are almost chattering, The raindrops on my face. It's so like home, My chilly, damp little island, I start feeling homesick. I know i ought to go inside, Out of the wind and the wet, But instead i want to get off the porch, and Dance in the rain. But i'm going home tomorrow, I resign myself to that, In less than forty-eight hours I'll be back on my chilly, wet little island.

 Re: Poems!!!
Yours were really cool CDG, I liked them.
Here're some more of mine, P.S. I will not take God out of my poems, He's in my profile and I may as well tell people about Him, as long as I don't shove Him down someone's throat I think it's fine.
Let not the songs of Fear and hate and death Flow to you like currents Driven by woe's breath.
Give not voice to your fear; Lest it fill your heart. Many heroes have been led astray, For terror ripped their souls apart.
Despise not they Who darken light. Let no harm reach them By your might.
Weep not for the perished ones; For though their bodies find decay Their souls are basking, high above, In the Master's light of day.
Let not the trials of Uncertainty and greed, With their rashness and their wiles, Your better sense precede.
Mark not those who travel on The road that's seldom worn. For they hold truths, though rarely seen, Beyond all wrath and scorn.
Want not for those things unseen That never will be yours. Consider instead those paths ahead And yet unopened doors.
Let not evil fill your mind When solace you must seek. Find no vagabond to help you, Consult God and you'll find peace.
Engage not in Those things unjust. Let ale not fog Your wisdom's trust.
Can these things be done? If so, then greater joy they'll bring. Morning will find a weeping shadow And light will forever sing.
And another...
When all the songs are sung And the stories have been told, When all the poems are read, You will find the king of old.
The king's sight will fail him And he will lead a war in vain. All hope is now gone, And the warriors slain.
When the fortess crumbles, When the kingdom falls, When all protection fails you, The twelve will answer the calll.
When the shield blocks no blow, When the sword shatters during swing, When the crown no longer carries meaning, Then a prince, hope, will bring.
When you can no longer fight, When it seems you are doomed to fail, When the night is at its darkest point, The prince of seekers will prevail.
And though reluctant he may be, He will find great destiny. But then the prince will lose his way, For the Star of Legend will lead him astray.
The prince of seekers will return, In your moment of greatest need. But in the final hour, He will no warning heed.
The prince will die upon a shield, The opponent in battle offering no yield. The captain will then take his place, And the kingdom will not fall to disgrace.
The captain will lead the final stand, To vanquish evil, to free the land. The prince’s son the war will win, And the sight will never fail again.
And another
The seekers chanted an eerie song, And spite was in their thoughts. They sang of bloody battles won, While in silence thousands watched.
With glowing eyes and unfurled wings, With evil stares and hateful gaze, The seekers sang of new-found truths, And times gone by of better days.
And as the day wore on to night, Crowds dwindled down to few. The seekers placed a dreadful curse on the crowd that stayed, Twelve of thousands then remained, trapped in eternal youth.
One of the thousand soon returned, His heart was full of sin. He found the twelve immortal youths, And turned them into gems.
Only in temples hidden away, Can the gems be restored, Only by he with pure intent, Can they regain their human form.
Where now do the seekers dwell? Above on Earth, or below in Hell? Who can their wicked desires quell? And become the hero, of whom legend tells?
another one
Who now is there Who knows not the season When Argomonix wept For the folly of his treason?
The spirits pleaded mercy For the river ever flowing. They prayed to one day hear The knowledge of all knowing.
From wrath that crushed the mountain’s face, And claws that scourged the plains, The only way to save the land, Lay hidden in its bane.
In the farthest corner and deepest dark, Lay hidden as a dream: The wisest mage twas left on earth, May just the world redeem.
Yet this mage could not be found, For darkness filled her heart. What way was there, save for her, To recover long lost arts?
The spirits thought to abandon hope; So lost the cause did seem. They did not see the darkness in The mage's heart unweave.
Water, Wind, and Darkness were, Hidden, locked in chains. So Argomonix seldom thought, Those captives were his bane.
Water, Fire, Earth, and Wind, United as one, once more. But Darkness stood alone again, Shaken to the core;
What remains of Argomonix? Surely he isn't dead. No, somewhere far away, he lives, For from black to white he bled.
Little is known of that war, But one thing still remains: Does good or evil prevail to flow In Argomonix's veins?
one more...
The world waits In a dreamless sleep till The Savior comes to keep them With Him above forever…
A hero is he who will stand up and fight For the land of the brave and the free. By his valor and justice, the land of our fathers might be… Rescued, and redeemed… the land of our fathers might be.
The sun’s glow… Ever fading slowly… Diminishing to the darkness, Swiftly claiming the world.
A hero is he who will stand up and fight For the land of the brave and the free. By his valor and justice, the land of our fathers might be… Rescued, and redeemed… the land of our fathers might be.
The swords are drawn, The flag is raised, Now is the time For the battle of all days!
Who is the hero who will stand up and fight For the land of the brave and the free, By whose valor and justice, the land of our fathers can be Rescued, and redeemed?
The hero, he comes, To fight for all honor So the land of our fathers can be Rescued, and redeemed.
The hero was lost, To edge of a sword. All things seemed lost, Until the Master came forth
saying: "A hero was he, who stood up and fought For the land of the brave and the free. By his valor and honor, the land of your fathers might be... Rescued, and redeemed.
So rise now and fight, And take the path of the light, And the land of your fathers will be... Rescued, and redeemed.
Rescued... and redeemed.
Okay, one more, I think I mean it this time... I came up with this while giving my cat a bath... totally unrealted to the poems subject.
When you close your eyes Can you see the things not past? Can you see the sands of time Pouring from the hourglass?
Can you see worlds other than The one in which you live? Can you see people whose Lives to them you give?
Can you feel their deepest hurt, Sense their strongest woe? Can you see their bitter tears Falling down like snow?
Can you hear their every thought? See their very soul? Can you see the things that Break or make them whole?
Can you see the heroes And help them through their strife? Can you bear to watch them fight? Can you bear to take their life?
Can you see the evil ones And love them anyway? Can you comfort all their doubts And keep their fears at bay?
Can you see the shrinking shadow? Can you see the growing light? Can you see the wars unfolding? Are you ready for your fight?
Do you know the perils of, The worlds others cannot see? Do you know their past and present, And what is yet to be?
Can you see the rulers? The streets and farthest shore? Can you see the darkest woodland? East, West, South, and North?
Can you see the kingdom of The depths of your mind? Can you travel to the world That no one else can find?
When you close your eyes, Can you see worlds before you? Can you see the coming stories Of the kingdoms that you choose?
Can you feel the rising tempest? The darkness come to close, The worlds and paths before you, Feeding from the peoples woes?
Can you also see the hope, Of a banner not yet raised? Can you see the coming Of the kingdom, or the end of days?
All stories must end in some way, still Some must go on and on. For far from the final mark in a book The story is not yet gone.
Have you ever stopped To think about The fact that maybe, just someday, Everyone around the world might really know your name?
When you close your eyes Do you see worlds unknown? All things have a tale to tell, One story could be your own.
All stories have all ready been told, In some other time and place. Forgotten by our time and world, They wait for their return to grace.
They find a person willing, To know and write them down. All stories must be told at least one day. So authors must be found.
Are you one of the chosen few, The recorders of a tale or two? If you are, take up your pen And write down the tale that comes to you.
No one's posting, so I'll just go ahead and post again...
Cry not now, oh blessed dragon. Sound not now, oh dying phoenix, spirit of the flame. Cry not now, oh blessed dragon, But let the squire earn first his name.
Take not into the restfull peace of death The squire yet to draw his sword. Take him not yet unto, the kingdom of heaven, The once and future Lord.
Cry not now, oh blessed dragon. Sound not now, oh dying phoenix, spirit of the flame. Cry not now, oh blessed dragon, But let the squire earn first his name.
The squire hath not fought any battles, Nor hath he proved his worth. Let before death, him earn his honor, Let not life, by blade him desert.
Cry not now, oh blessed dragon. Sound not now, oh dying phoenix, spirit of the flame. Cry not now, oh blessed dragon, But let the squire earn first his name.
The lad is a knight, and no longer a boy, But a man in steal and shell. Let him not meet, by arrow or sword, The place where the dead doth dwell.
Cry not now, oh blessed dragon. Sound not now, oh dying phoenix, spirit of the flame. Cry not now, oh blessed dragon, But let this knight earn first his blade.
Let him not walk into that far glade, Where dwelleth wind and rain. Let him not walk into many foes Let the sword not be his bane.
Cry not now, oh blessed dragon. Sound not now, oh dying phoenix, spirit of the flame. Cry not now, oh blessed dragon, But let this knight earn first his blade.
The knight hath wed now, oh dearly beloved. Let not this maiden's heart be broken. Let him not leave for battle on anger, And let not those words of love be unspoken.
Cry not now, oh blessed dragon. Sound not now, oh dying phoenix, spirit of the flame. Cry not now, oh blessed dragon, But let the knight earn first his fame.
The knight in armor shall soon be a father, Take away not his chance to teach. Let not the fortress of bond be broken Let not the walls of life be breached.
Cry not now, oh blessed dragon. Sound not now, oh dying phoenix, spirit of the flame. Cry not now, oh blessed dragon, But let the knight give first his lad a name.
The knight is a father now, He's raising a son. The maiden's heart is cheerful, Let not this life be yet undone.
Cry not now, oh blessed dragon. Sound not now, oh dying phoenix, spirit of the flame. Cry not now, oh blessed dragon, But let the knight give first his son a name.
The lad's become a squire, Could the knight be more proud? The mentor is a wise elder, The greatest knight to be found.
Cry not now, oh blessed dragon. Sound not now, oh dying phoenix, spirit of the flame. Cry not now, oh blessed dragon, But let the knight earn first his name.
A contest of arms, For prestigious knights. The time to earn a name is at hand, Help him win this fight.
Cry not now, oh blessed dragon. Sound not now, oh risen phoenix, covered in snow-like down. Cry not now oh blessed dragon, But let the knight earn first his crown.
The knight hath earned rule ore the kingdom, And the squire hath become a knight. But the maiden is not well, and nothing can be done, Try as though they might.
Cry softly now, oh blessed dragon. Sound softly now, oh risen phoenix, clothed in snow-like down. Cry softly now, oh blessed dragon, But take not the life of the wearer of the crown.
The younger knight hath wed now, And all is well again. The king is a grandfather, And his life has worn thin.
Cry not quite yet, oh blessed dragon. Sound not quite yet, oh dying phoenix, spirit of the flame. Cry not yet, oh blessed dragon, But let the king first pass on his fame.
The king gives his crown over to his son, For his life has reached an end. He walks slow into those pathways of light, For even swords must bend.
Roar loudly now, oh blessed dragon. Sound loudly now, oh flying phoenix, master of the flames. Roar loudly now, oh blessed dragon, For in your light, the king will reign.

 Re: Poems!!!
They're all really amazing! Both Curfew and CDG! lol Curfew's is long but still very very good. Mine is mostly complaining lol.
Here's a song I wrote just today...so of course it's going to need editing. lol
The pain wrought upon you Was unquestioningly never supposed to be caused Unto you. It fills my heart with darkness and throbbing unease When I hear what you are going through, and I pause
To think about life’s moronic drama And how it has wrecked so many lives. How many of them have been torn apart? How many have been told nothing but lies?
I cannot stand to hear your pain I cannot live to watch your feelings be drained When will you finally be able to move on? You know I’m not the one…now I’m gone.
I wouldn’t know what to say With you standing there, your eyes glistening with tears about to come And you can barely say my name out loud When there is heartache brung.
Too many memories flood my mind When you speak softly to me. Is there any chance we can move on When it seems love has made it meant to be?
I cannot stand to hear your pain I cannot live to watch your feelings be drained When will you finally be able to move on? You know I’m not the one…now I’m gone.
Why have you met me? You’d be better off if you never had!
I cannot stand to hear your pain I cannot live to watch your feelings be drained When will you finally be able to move on? You know I’m not the one…now I’m gone.
I wish I never said I love you
I cannot stand to hear your pain I cannot live to watch your feelings be drained When will you finally be able to move on? You know I’m not the one…now I’m gone.
Now I’m gone…

 Re: Poems!!!
Let me know what you think...
Do you Regret?
When I begin to stumble, You catch my eye. Fear flashes between us, As the darkness passes by,
When I open my eyes, I realize, That I am barely hanging on. I scream for you. I reach for you.
You outstretch your arm But only halfway, And then you freeze.
Panic grips me… “No…” I whisper to you. I’m begging; I’m pleading. “Save me, please.” But your eyes go dark and your hand pulls away.
And now I am falling…
Screaming your name, I see your silhouette. You’re just standing there, watching… As I fall… And then the moonlight reflects your tears… They run down you cheeks as your realize what you’ve done. My throat is hoarse; I know that it’s almost over. Do you regret what you’ve done?
My tears fall in time with yours… I’m drowning… I surrender to the darkness as it surrounds me.
Nothing is left of me. You think you’ve won. You keep telling yourself that this isn’t your fault. But deep down you know that it is your turn to carry around the pain, the pain that you’ve freed me of today. Until one day it will end for you, just as it ended for me.
With one last look back, With one last stray tear, With one last decision to make, Without looking back,
YOU WALK AWAY
And forever am I here to stay.
_________________ And I wonder what you'd say if I were gone Would you cry? Did you even notice something wrong?
I often wonder what's to live for. I just want this pain to go away All I have are fading memories, pieces of my broken yesterday They say every drop of blood meant something. Here I am, I'm waiting for you, crying out I've fallen to my knees.

 Re: Poems!!!
Wow, that was really really good, wish I could hijack it and write a book about it...just kidding. Here's one that I've been working on for about a month now. It's a song. A shadow fills the night As darkness veils the day. Some sadness can't be healed No matter what men say. Take a moment to laugh, take a moment of pride. Take a moment to fall, take a moment to cry. When darkness is the only thing you see, When wolves howl at your door...Just don't forget to breathe. As stinging rain and burning wind Flow through the night time space There is a growing doubt within all hearts, Though all men know it has no place. Take a moment to laugh, take a moment of pride. Take a moment to fall, take a moment to cry. When darkness is the only thing you see, When turmoil reigns in your life...just don't forget to breathe. Death is not foreseen nor told, But is a thief with jagged claws. It steals and wounds without a care. It has no hope; it has no law. Take a moment to laugh, take a moment of pride. Take a moment to fall, take a moment to cry. When darkness is the only thing you see, When death looms in front of you...Just don't forget to breathe. All is well; the Son shines bright. Not one cloud veils the deep blue sky. The world is strong; all war is gone And now people praise the Lord above on high. Take a moment to laugh, rake a moment of pride. Take a moment to fall, take a moment to cry. When glory is the only thing you see, When no darkness haunts you, just don't forget to breathe. Praise Him in your good times, But also in the rain. You should thank Him when all is good, And shine for Him through pain. Take a moment to laugh, take a moment of pride. Take a moment to fall, take a moment to cry. No matter what's ahead of you, no matter what you see, Pray in the shadows, pain, health and light..Just don't forget to breathe.

Moonlight I’m standing outside in a winter night, In the freezing cold I look up at the moon Shining down on me. A few minutes it’s gone, Like footprints in the falling snow. Life is like that- Flashes of beauty, Obscured behind the drifting clouds. And nobody knows That it’s been here.

 Re: Poems!!!
my turn to post a few poems.
God help me, I’m dying! I can’t take this pain anymore! It burns a hole through me That glows like an ember from a forge. I am…desolate. I am hollow. Like an empty shell. But unlike the shell, I have no pearly undercoating That glimmers with a refined beauty. No. I am…inhuman now. All I can feel is the pain. It comes and goes. It waxes and wanes with the elegance of the moon, And it eats away at the shores of my sanity Like the pounding of the waves. It is relentless. I retreat into my mind each night, At the time when it rises to its peak. LET ME DIE! I scream. END THIS AND LET ME END WITH IT! My body clenches and unclenches, writhes and bucks In response to this pain it can barely contain. And all the while tears, Those hot hateful tears, Pour from the corners of my eyes as I hold them shut. I lie in the dark, shuddering, whimpering. The pain I feel is beyond expression. It is…darkness. It is…the emptiness. It is like some thing has come and taken out my soul. I feel so alone here, in this place where the world falls away, Where there is ONLY the pain. Curled up beneath the covers of my bed, I still weep. And as I weep, I scream inside my mind. And woe to the person who could hear that scream. Woe to them if they could feel my pain. It would bring them to their knees just as it brought me to mine, If only they could feel this pain.
Words fall from my mouth Coated with a bitter tang. I watch in satisfaction tinged with self disgust As the blows land on you, one by one. Each phrase burns in my throat Through the honey coated pleasure I receive when I speak them. Like the cat of nine tails, They rip pieces of your confidence away With every stroke, And I wield it with an expert hand. Oh yes, such an expert hand...damn me. And with every loud crack of the weapon I wince at my own cruelty, Even as you wince at the sting. Yet I can’t seem to stop. I hate myself for it, But I find a massive attraction To the limitless agony I can inflict in seconds. I choose my words for their underlying truth. I pick my daggers with care, Throwing only the ones that will hurt the most Because of their awful honesty. What you fear, what you hate, I turn it against you Without hesitation. And I feel only a mild regret At the injury that lingers Long after the sounds have faded. I have perfected the art Of using words this way. And, I am proud of it. I am proud, and full of self loathing. What can I say? This is who I am for now. A blade hurling poet, Singing ballads of woe to you, Whispering them in your ear, these songs that strike at your very core. Standing back to admire my work Only when all is said and done. Pity I can’t at least enjoy it more. But then, if I did, What would I be? Not human…Or perhaps, Maybe then I would be human? Truly human.

O.O Wow...those kind of make me think: Are you feeling okay? I'm not dissing, but those were so descriptive that it does make me wonder...anyway, they were really great! Here's a fan poem I wrote for books five and six of ranger's apprentice There once was a castle called Macindaw, It stood on a crest to preside over all. And there was no one who imagined the fall Of that grand castle, Macindaw.” “Now there was a thief, an evil man cruel, He sought to dominate and be king to rule. But he didn’t know that he was a fool; Because good never comes to those who are cruel.” “A ranger was sent, from a far away land. He had a quiver on his back, and knives in his hand. He was a stranger in that castle grand, Help unwanted in a far away land.” “But his time came, just as sure as time flows. He was sent a friend with a sword instead of straight arrows. That friend knew all, as far as sieges go, So they set up a siege, just as sure as time flows.” “Now there was a lass, trapped in that tower. She was locked in that room to give the cruel man power. But he needed a weapon, so he could devour, The minds of his captives, locked in that tower.” “The ranger held fury, at the state of it all, And awaited the day that the castle would fall. Now, there was yet time, and yet things to draw To get help for the siege, and the state of it all.” “There were men from the north, with huge weapons in tow. They knew all about all, as far as fighting goes. They come from the land that’s covered in snow, So they came for the siege, with huge weapons in tow.” “Now that the Skandians were willing to help out with battle They told of an enemy that was…blundering like cattle… So the ranger went off..to be saved from the prattle… And discovered the Scotti, preparing for battle.” “So he told that to the Skandians, who followed him to The enemy’s camp, to fight like they do, But the Scotti leader got scared..and ran off like ‘Whoo!’ So the ranger followed him, and the warrior too.” “The warrior was slow, and the ranger was quick. But that ranger’s speed got him into a fix. He was trapped in fight with the general, who managed to nick The ranger’s defense, even though he was quick.” “Then the warrior arrived and saved the ranger’s neck. And the ranger almost fainted, while fussing like..heck. He yelled at the warrior, who yelled right back till they were both all like ‘Blech’ Then they went went back to the campsite, cause the warrior saved the ranger’s neck.” “Now, the warrior wasn’t thrilled that he had to carry MacHaddish. The man hadn’t bathed, and he smelled like a radish. Carrying him was vexing and to be blunt quite…baddish. Nope, the warrior wasn’t thrilled thathe had to carry MacHaddish.” “After that trek they had to dig up some dirt, Cause MacHaddish had info that they needed to learn. They promised if he talked he wouldn’t get hurt, Cause they really needed to dig up that dirt.” “After he spilled the desired info, The ranger and friends still couldn’t let it go. They decided they’d just bury him with snow.. No, they already had the desired info.” “It was time to go.” “So they let the rat run back to his pack, They needed their rest, so they then hit the sack. They then prepared to make the attack, After the rat ran back to its pack.” “The next morning they set to siege the fortress. They made a diversion from out of the forest. With exploding lights that were not the poorest. And flying heads that lit up the fortress.” “The ranger and warrior hid under a cart For hours and hours, till time for their part. The warrior almost ruined the plan cause he wanted to dart, Out from the ranger’s clever, ingenious cart.” “They finally ran out and dashed up the walls, Deaf to the shouts and soldiers calls Of ‘Get down from here’ and ‘Can't believe that gall’ The ranger ran to the tower while warriors fought the enemies all over the wall.” “As the ranger reached the tower to rescue the courier He became aware that he was a real worrier. Lord Keren stood by, looking blurrier Because all attention was focused on the courier.” “Keren was unimpressed, as he motioned to the sword’s handle. There was a blue rock that shone like a candle. The ranger didn’t really care, he just wanted to kill this stupid vandal, And couldn’t care less about the stone in the handle.” “The ranger got mad, that was for sure, When Lord Keren gave an order for The courier to kill the ranger, not head out the door. So they were all mad, that much was sure.” “But the ranger was clever and Keren was not, Which was why the ranger devised a wicked good plot. He told the courier a secret, and she never forgot, That the ranger was clever and Keren was not.” They got out just fine, completely safe and sound. They hadn’t been killed, so didn’t fill the ground. The ranger was emo cause he…gave up his hound, But he and the courier were both safe and sound. The ranger went back to the land far away, Knowing that the real king had come back to stay. There were more things coming; for that is the way, Of rangers and warriors in the land far away.” So what do you think?

 Re: Poems!!!
I've got another one, but this one wasn't written by me. It came from a friend of mine.
Darkened Cells The cell doors are closing, The darkness is spreading and I can feel the sorrow inside. They close the doors and the darkness grows As the night guards turn out the lights. Cars leave the lot as they lock the gates That look out as far as the eyes can see. I feel alone . My cell mate won’t talk and the sorrow in my body grows. As the tension increases My brain won’t listen to what I have to say. The room turns white. I hear voices and my skin is scalding hot. I turn on my side, Open my eyes, and stand up. The men are trying to trick me. It looks like my room though there were never as many people there. I do not remember myself on this hard, brown bed. But then I blink, Everyone is gone and I am alone In my cell.

 Re: Poems!!!
okay so It took me forever to write this because I used Iambic pentameter and it had to be about love.. btw it was for school lol but i Figured I would post it. I have to warn its a little twisted because I was reading a twisted poem that day and I didn't want to make another lovey dovey one when I was actually writing it. =)
Temptations Sorrows
The night we met I truly fell in love,
Your wit and charm did turn my head to you,
Your skin was as fair as a satin glove;
We shared a moment of passion so true;
You were always so beautiful and young,
We spent our days and nights in loves embrace;
It was a dream, of birds our love was sung,
I gave you love, I always praised your grace;
Yet, lust had torn my true love from my arms;
My love for you was always true and strong;
I am so sure it was temptations charms,
And now what I must do will not be wrong.
Now young and mine you shall forever stay;
For love is never changing in that way!

I live in my dreams, and my dreams are my life, busy and tumbled and peppered with strife. But the moments of peace, smiles, and laughter, make all of the sadness worth what comes after.

 Re: Poems!!!
Silver, there may indeed be more words than that, but this is what people are feeling, and they want to share that. Who are you to critisize? POetry is about getting out whatever emotions are in you, and if that happens to be negative, so what? no one's telling you what kind of things to write and share, so why don't you take the way you said that, and change it. maybe something like "Hey, things are kind of dark here, why not post something happy?"
......just sayin'.....

 Re: Poems!!!
I didn't say post something happy.
I said use different words. That was my critic. I even have critic tags. In other words, might be different and better sounding if there was a poem expressing depression without saying "darkness" or anything.
:/ Gosh .... you really backfired on me, huh?

 Re: Poems!!!
Eh, here's a slightly angsty one. It's from a fan fic I wrote for ranger's apprentice...It's in, I dunno really, after book four but before book five and WAY before book seven...
Hidden in shadow, from light and remorse, Silent and still, no breath, like a corpse. Yet alive with no sound, moving deadly through the trees Like a hunter or ghost, silently stalking and killing as pleased.
Wrapped in pure nature, a veil seldom seen. A prisoner of shadow, a captive, yet free. A mask, a blank page, hides his true world. What will ever leave his bare flag unfurled?
Emotionless, stoic, yet scared and alone. Robed still in shadow, he’s chilled to the bone. He trembles for fear, yet still stays the same, Hidden in shadow where none know his name.
Chased through the forest where no one can run, He still flees in silence; his quest not yet done. A quiver ‘cross his back filled with a dozen twice over, And two knives at his side in a patch of green clover.
“It’s not enough; it’s never enough.”
The hunter, the hunted, locked in a deadly dance. This isn’t a game, it’s death by pure chance. He tries to fight back, and yet by fear becomes frozen. There’s no to help him, save him from the path that he’s chosen.
He can’t escape the voice, can’t escape his fear. He can’t stop the rainfall, can’t stop his falling tears. The hunted is prey, and the hunter has won, Yet it seems on this day, that no life will be undone.
The hunter speaks, softly muttering his piece. And when he begins, his voice fills with grief. “Let me see inside your mind, young one filled with fear. It won’t hurt to let me in; it won’t hurt to let me near.”
The hunted then stares in awe and in woe, What horrible death will the hunter bestow, Hidden in shadow where no one can see, In a clearing of clover where red blood will bleed?
The hunted speaks, his voice shaken with sobs. He wouldn’t mind, really, if death his pain stopped. “No one can see my mind, no one can come in. They enter only to injure and laugh as they rend.”
The hunter says no, he’ll cause no fell harm. “As you see dear lad, I am not really armed.” He stares at the hunted, pity in eyes. And with the hunted, the hunter then cries.
An odd sight it is, the hunter and hunted. It seems at this time that fear’s growth is stunted. The hunted then flees, with the hunter just watching. He can hear the hour glass, shattered, but ne’er stopping.
Hidden in shadow, locked far away. The hunter has vanished, and vanished he’ll stay. No one can see his mind, no one can read his thoughts. Why then, why, does he turn then and stop?
Is it because of the hunter, his understanding and tears? Is it because the hunted knows that there’s a way to end his fears? Hidden in shadow, far from all hate The hunted trembles in solitude, awaiting his fate.
Hidden in shadow, alone, so alone The hunted watches his reflection, his shimmering clone. He wonders if ever he’ll have another chance To save his lost ember from the place where fires dance.
He sees smoke curling, higher and higher It reminds him of warriors, and of funeral pyres. To be with the wind, forever and stay, To have that for a moment, he’d give anything away.
He closes his eyes and waits for his dreams. Dreams like fire in mirrors, that are not as they seem. The hunter watches from a close hill, watching and waiting, Awaiting the kill.
Morning dawns bright, lit by the sun Yet still the hunted hides, still the only one. With narrowed eyes the hunter follows, closer every heartbeat. He appears in an instant, hungry for the heart’s cease.
But the hunted doesn’t see, he only keeps walking Unaware of the hunter and the prey that it’s stalking. He stops for a moment, a time to take breath And the hunter sees a chance to give the boy rest.
Gentle, ever gentle, he guides the lad home Never to wander and never to roam. When the lad awakes he hears a faint voice Giving a promise and giving a choice.
“I’ll never let you go, I’ll never let you fall. I’ll always catch and keep you, no matter if you fall. Let me inside your mind, let me in right now Let me come inside your mind and I’ll never let you down.”
The hunted sighs and wearily agrees, Needing rest he collapses to his knees. The hunter takes pity and as he enters sighs, “I’ll heal you now and comfort, if you’ll only close your eyes.”
Fire, precious fire, dancing on the moon. Higher, ever higher, it shall reach the sky, and soon. Brighter, glowing brighter, it’s nearly as the sun. Fire, precious fire, now it has begun.
Okay, so here's another. This one is set right after book four. (Sorry Silv, tis' another angsty one
Close your eyes to shield them from the wind,
Fall asleep; you’re home again.
Whisper softly, whisper now,
Whisper softly… now you’re found.
You fell asleep so long ago,
Within that cursed land of snow.
But now you’re fine and all is well,
Save for what inside your mind doth dwell.
Whisper softly, speak, don’t fear
Anymore because your savior’s here
To listen and to dry your tears,
As memory your mind does sear.
Burning flames were in the night
Months ago, yet still cause fright
Even now you cannot fight,
You shouldn’t now, for all is right.
Whisper now of things long past,
There is yet sand in the hourglass.
Whisper now, for evening’s nigh,
Whisper now, don’t fear to cry.
Whisper softly; tell of your pain,
Whisper softly through the rain.
Whisper softly and when the storm ebbs
Whisper softly of snow stained red.
It’s okay to fear the light,
After darkness long, and shadow’s might.
But always seek this candle’s glow,
When remembering that past and snow.
You’re not a knight, yet still you fought
More bravely than was ever thought.
To save the ones who caused your pain,
Your blood, it seems, has won them gain.
It’s not your fault, don’t blame yourself,
For cruel fate’s joke, and woe’s new wealth.
It’s over now, let terror cease,
It’s over now, time for peace.
Whisper softly, hear the cry
Of a mage’s song and lullaby.
Whisper softly, go back to sleep.
Let someone watch and for you weep.
Jagged scars now mar the calm,
A cruel wound for which there is no balm.
Yet healing power, not like a salve,
There is to mend a heart ripped in half.
Scarlet blood now stains the gaze,
Once so pure yet now a maze.
Darkened by things beyond compare,
What’s too terrible to ever share?
The moon reflects the weeping son,
Needing an ally, yet the only one
To bear a burden from the ice bound lands,
Though safely delivered back into home’s hands.
What causes such destruction and grief?
What give the mind relief?
What does the heart crave, what does the heart need?
How can scars be healed, that run this deep?
Whisper softly now and he’ll listen to your words,
Your fears will quake in terror while nightmares fly like birds.
Whisper softly now, call into the dark.
Whisper, he’ll listen, until he’s healed your heart.
A tale is told through bitter tears,
Washing crimson, calming fear.
A whispered tale was finally heard
By one who listened to every word.
Fall silent now for you know you are safe,
Fall silent now in the calm of this place.
Listen to teardrops fall into a grave,
A stone heart now broken, crushed in every way.
Watch while scarlet drops of blood
Stain an ice-blue rose,
Watch in silence while in the sun
That grave begins to close.
Whisper softly now, embrace in sadness, mirth.
Whisper softly now, proud of the tale now heard.
Whisper softly now and comfort through the pain.
Whisper softly now while listening in the rain.
Whisper softly now and never cry again
For snow ‘tis stained with blood that the shadows rend.
Whisper softly now and, as you close your eyes,
Remember, lest you dream of pain,
That in truth the darkness dies.
Whisper softly now and close your eyes once more,
Whisper softly now and walk through the open door.
Whisper softly now and you’ll touch familiar shore.
Whisper softly now and be afraid never more.
Never more.
And..here's an angsty Alex Rider poem...^.^ Warning, very very morbid
Something's not right about this life... Something's not right, and why do I Always have to fight your fights? This isn't right, you stole my life.
Something's not right, I see a mirror and look in. Something's not right, I don't recognize him. The mirror lies, that isn't me with all those scars. Something's not right, but I recall receiving those marks.
Something's not right, why do I do what you tell me to? Something's not right, why do I believe what you tell me's true? Something's not right, I can't trust anymore. Something's not right, why can't I have what I had before?
Why can't I run and never look back, Run forever and not fear attack? Why can't I walk and not be afraid, That this is my last day and I'm headed for the grave?
I want to dream and I want to feel. I don't want to be alone and I want something real. I'm not your slave yet I can't seem to flee. And no one hears when I call..."Please help me."
Something's not right, I'm fighting your war. Something's not right, I've been here before. Something's not right, I'm spying again. Something's not right, I'm waiting for death to begin.
Something's not right, why can't I escape? Something's not right, is there no saving grace? Where's my happy ending, my ever after, ever more? Or can I never rest, can I never strike the final cord?
I want to step from the shadows of hate, I want to leave this secret hiding and run, run away. I want to never fear a gun again, never fear the whip. I want to never fear in capture that precious truth will slip.
But this marvelous passion, this magnificent obsession, Has ensnared me like my uncle, now hear my confession. Death is my sanctuary, my only light, escape. It may seem foolish now, but that's a chance I want to take.
Something's not right, I still run for you. Something's not right, I still do what you tell me to. Something's not right, I still hide from my reflection. Because of you I killed a man, and now I must confess it.
Something's not right, I'm still hidden in shadow. Something's not right, I can't find a valley hallowed. Something's not right, my only friend was killed, Something's not right, my heart's a void that can never be filled.
I watch the rain, see every drop Fall like my tears, it never stops. I watch the splendid fire, burning as I wish my soul would. I say nothing to the cloaked one, who wishes that he understood.
Something's not right, I am too young, yet dying. And my friends are gone, on the ground they're lying. Blood coats the ground and I envy death's sweet mercy. I am to young to die, yet I wish that death would hurry.
Something's not right, you still are like my ruler. Something's not right, no fate could seem crueler. Something's not right, you still are yet my master. Something's not right, my heart goes slow then faster.
Something's not right, you say you care for me. Well if you really did, would you make my only comfort leave? Would you leave me all alone, would you leave me to the torture? Would you have shot and not care, would you let the fire scorch her?
"Jack..."
Would you let the darkness touch me, caress me and weep? Would you ignore my cries during my painful sleep? Would you lift me up then knock me down? Would you never let me dream? I see through your lies now, remember all is never as it seems.
I'm not too young to die, I'm not to young to run. I'm not too young to end the madness, the madness you've begun. I'm not too young to run away, I'm not too young to fly. I'm not too young to escape your evil, I'm not too young to die.
So watcha think?

 Re: Poems!!!
... O.o woah... its great, though it took me an hour to read it. How long did it take you to type this? Music is considered a poem right? Then here;s the translation to one of my favorite songs from a friend on Youtube: Hello, hi, it's me, an outlaw, and please, my love, accept happiness. Hello, hello, it's me, Picasso, I gave you a call and I'm neat, But you must know I'm asking you nothing.
You want to go but you don't, you don't take me with you You don't, you don't take me with you, you don't, you don't, you don't take me with you Your face and the love under the linden tree remind me of your eyes
You want to go but you don't, you don't take me with you You don't, you don't take me with you, you don't, you don't, you don't take me with you Your face and the love under the linden tree remind me of your eyes
I gave you a call, to tell you what I feel now. Hello, my love, it's me, happiness. Hello, hello, it's me again, Picasso, I gave you a call and I'm neat But you must know I'm asking you nothing.

They repeat the chorus four times. Can you guess the song? If nto, then it is the song called Dragostei Din Tei, or Numa Numa

 Re: Poems!!!
I Am and I Am Not
I am not a happy person. I am not one to think positive thoughts. I am one who has seen many things, And will see many more, Whether I want to or no. This knowing has aged me And set me apart from others.
I am not a weak person, though. I am not one to break before I bend. I am one who has spent years in darkness, And learned to see in, and even move, The shadows that would have smothered me. This ability has changed me And given me the cleverness to thrive.
So I am a strong person. I am one who has fought through the pain. I am not one to reveal my scars, And seek sympathy from those I detest, Simply because they are there. This courage has made me proud, And able to weather the wars of life.
So I am a survivor. I am one who has remade the shreds of what was. I am not one who will give up what i've won, And slink away without a fight, Because the odds are against me. This determination will keep me going. And I will cling to what life i have, Until there's nothing worth surviving for.
I am, and I am not.
A breakaway in the clouds, A stunning flood of light. Golden, pale, and cold. Eyes water and blink as confusion reigns supream for a moment. The sky... With a smile take in The brilliant Robin's Egg hue. Sweet, clean, and clear. A sight covered by dismal gray for weeks on end. Let yourself drown in it. In the wonder Of a blue sky in winter.

 Re: Poems!!!
The Death of Emily Gray
What can be said about Emily Gray? She is unspoken words. She is a blurred face in the crowd. That person you feel staring at you From the back of the room Who hopes you’ll turn around, Who hopes you’ll be the one Who will confirm that she exists. She prays, every night, that someone Will do exactly that. And every day, when the school bell rings, She mutely appeals to all With those soft brown eyes. “Look at me!” She wants to say. “Tell me I’m not just a ghost, Or something someone dreamed,” But no one ever does. No one even knows she’s there. In her own home she drifts From room to room Like a black robed wraith. Her parents, content to ignore her, Slide their eyes past her expressionless face As if she had died long ago. She wonders if they even remember her name. The years pass one after the other, Identical in what things they bring, Until one day she seeks release Through the gleaming edge of a knife Dragged across her slender wrist. Her parents will be annoyed, Displeased at having to spend money To burry her. Her peers will be confused. Heads will turn to one another When the principal says “Bow your heads for Emily Gray.” They will whisper and ask “Who’s that?” And no one will know. All what could have been. All that will never be. A future closed forever. Take a look around you. Do you see an Emily Gray?
The cursor is blinking at me. A small black line, on a large white page. Waiting, patiently, for the words to come. It is my kindest friend, It pays attention to, and hangs on, Every word I say. My closest friend, a line. What would my parents think of that? Blink…Blink…Blink. I feel guilty, though, right now. I haven’t been to see my friend in a while. The words it so cheerfully scribes upon that white page Have been absent as of late. But still it shows no hurt, no judgment. It does not scream at me for ignoring it, Or accuse me of being unfaithful. My loyal black line. Always there when I open Microsoft, Eager to get to work, to please me. All right then, line. Cursor. Friend. Show me why I love you now, Glide across the page in smooth strokes, Stopping when I stop, moving with my thoughts. Synchronized and perfect. Our minds are one. Delete those words I dislike, Correct my errors. There, we begin anew. A story is placed upon these pages In glorious Times New Roman. All hail the mighty Ceaser Line! We who are about to write like mad salute you!
Dreaming and drifting on the warm winds, Juniper and apple blossom spin a web around me. The scent of wildflowers fills my mind As I burry my face in the bouquet you hold out to me, Looking up at you with a coquettish smile. The tallest grass wave hello from the meadow as we pass, Floating in a haze of happiness, Wishing that this time we share, Strolling through a place like heaven, Would never end... The sun shines warm like a yellow daffodil, Or like a buttercup as it peeks out shyly at you From the shelter of its leaves. Bright green buds on the tree limbs unfurl, Eager to taste the air and begin new life. Bird song awakes, filling the world with liquid joy. A flash of red, or blue, or brown. Wings flapping madly in a dash To reach that great blue expanse, Filled with cotton candy clouds of white. Crickets chirp in a chorus of thousands, Lady bugs and June beetles appear like magic, Whizzing about to fulfill their hectic lives. A rain comes, gently misting, and then heavily pouring. Children run from their houses, Leaping with joy, whooping and screaming. They splash their way through oceanic puddles Of snow melt and raindrops. My hand is entwined in yours as we watch them, My head against your shoulder. This is the spring, this is pure bliss. Time passes… I’m still dreaming and drifting on the warm winds, The trees are bearing fruits of apples and cherries now. The blush has faded, but the green lives on. Children play and dogs bark, Hoses spray unwary bodies for a bit of fun, You and I are among them. Your laughter is like music in my ears, And I love watching you smile at me. My heart is filled to bursting with happiness I though I’d never feel again. And though the spring is over, The skies are still blue, and the clouds are still white. The morning fades; the first half of summer is gone. The roar of the lawnmower barrels Through the stillness of the afternoon. The winds, when they come, are sluggish. The trees sway their branches and make welcoming shade, And I sit underneath the greatest oak I have ever seen. Sipping at a glass of lemonade, I am fascinated by the moisture that beads on the cup. Ice clinks, wind murmurs, bugs hum and my sisters laugh. I could stay this way forever, watching my family, so happy, And watching you, so wonderful, As you talk with them, and help my father at the grill. Then hot sultry days give way to hot sultry nights. Stars glitter in the millions above us as we walk, Hand in hand, Watching the moon glimmer like a giant pearl. Bonfires are lit, campfire songs are sung. This is summer, this is bliss. I wish it didn’t have to end, But I’m ok with it. I know that it will come again soon.

 Re: Poems!!!
Here's one that I wrote for King Arthur. It's sort of like a riddle. See if you can figure out what's going on in it *Evil Grin*
Venom laced with honey. A scarlet draft of sleeping trees. He paid for oaths with deaths' money. Now he is deaf to shouted pleas.
The bravery of many men, The toiling of a restless ghost, This a battle he cannot win. But perhaps his pride is hurt the most.
Venom laced with honey, A sick yet sweet lust for power. Debts t'were paid for with blood money. Water crashing, pounds the hour.
The poison flows like wine this night While flowers bloom in blood soaked sand. There's no telling wrong from right. The time for death is now at hand.
Venom laced with honey. A cold sweet voice to purr to you. Now that it's said it sounds so funny That such a fate won't touch him too.
He lies through malice in the dark. His crown is covered in ash. The songs are they of the drowning lark. They, once his, must taste the lash.
Venom laced with honey, A cry within the night. Battles long and bloody. The death of fathers, knights.
Brothers called unto the sky, Pleading "Help us vanquish him!" They perished as one that very night. And he lived on to kill again.
Venom laced with honey. Poison trimmed with valor. Now spoken it seems funny that we bow and call him "My lord".
Fathers pleaded guilt to crimes they'd never commit for fear that the thoughts of their hearts would reach their eyes And betray them all with tears.
Venom laced with honey. A kiss from a sword or knife. Venom laced with honey. If nothing's done you'll die.
A hero came from in the dark. He said that he would free the land. But the price was more than man could bear. Twas obeying one command.
Honey laced with venom. A price just, fair, and kind. It's time for debts to be repaid. It's time to free the slaves clasped minds.
One maiden fair asked the name. He had no name to give. One blacksmiths son tried to give him a sword. But he said that he'd fight only if all may live.
Honey laced with venom. A burning soul and restless mind. He's dying now, for all to see. It's apparent in his eyes.
Seven songs for seven breaths. Seven lives for seven deaths. Seven paths for seven quests. Seven Hearts for seven tests.
Honey laced with venom. A pale hand clutches yours. It feels so soft and dead. 'Tis cold and limp just like a corpse.
Seven years in seven days. In seven halls fires blaze. Seven skies for the sun's rays. Seven souls with debts to pay
Honey laced with Venom. A sweet voice that sings to you. Don't heed it's lies, please sever ties, Lest the One deceive you too.
Seven swords for seven kills. Seven kings with iron wills. Seven goals for knights to fill. Seven sirens' voices trill.
Honey laced with venom. A wound laid open for The sake of a cause unknown So that others may enter the door.
The evening of battle approaches with haste. Not a single moment can he afford to waste. He prepares himself for the war of all time. He goes out not lightly, for the stakes are his life.
Honey laced with venom. The sky's not blue, but red. Are you willing to pay the price? Will your life end or his instead?
He is the prince and he is the heir To the throne of his kingdom, solemn and rare. His treasure is not jewels or gold or rich fame. His wealth is his subjects, his honor, his name.
Honey laced with venom, A draft for pain and fear. His life has been stolen, But do not allow for tears.
Seven lies for seven truths. Seven elders for seven youths. Seven morals for evil uncouth. Seven puzzles for seven sleuths.
Honey laced with venom. You can hear his voice calling. He wants to help you rise up. But instead you're falling.
Seven trumpets for seven drums. On seven hills armies come. From seven clouds angels hum. And on the field many swords now thrum.
Honey laced with venom. He's truly dead, you know. Now all you can do is stand alone, No matter the rain, no matter the blow.
Seven arrows for seven men. Seven lions for seven dens. Seven prayers for seven sins. Seven winters when ice grows thin.
Honey laced with venom. From youth spreads mortal lies. Find the dragon within you. Unfurl your wings, take to the skies.
The spell is undone, the witch is to blame. She lives in the lake from whence the sword came. Can the lake lady truly, truly be blamed For hiding the sword for which there's no name?
Honey laced with venom. The serpent strikes at dawn. Twilight glows in the past beyond. You must surely fear what approaches yon.
The princess watched in fear and in shame, Worried that she might be the one to blame For the war, for surely she is the cause Of Mordrids' return, of Camelots' flaws.
Honey laced with venom. The blind shall see and mute shall tell Of the wonder of the sleeping snake. They shall scream for evil spells.
Seven hopes for great despair. Seven aids for disrepair. Seven woes for seven cares. Seven dragons in seven lairs.
Honey laced with venom. The dead shall live again. The day is not done, nor the hope that This fight might be won for good things yet.
Seven rise, for seven fall. Seven answers for seven calls. Seven rams for seven stone walls. Seven shields for seven halls.
Honey laced with venom. The breath of servants' cease. They whisper still though, yet unseen. But hopes faded still decrease.
Seven funerals for seven dead. Seven crowns for seven heads. Seven causes for seven dreads. Seven empty chambers for seven empty beds.
Honey laced with venom. Tears dripping down the glass. Darkness draws now nearer. This breath will be your last.
He draws a deep breath a takes up his sword, It's time to fulfill the oath that he swore. He approaches his monster with a flicker of fear. And as he comes closer he sees Mordrid sneer.
Honey laced with venom. A rising chant through smoke. The souls of woodland tremble. They scream and gasp and choke.
Mordrid scoffs at the prince and mocks him with scorn, Saying that he curses the day prince Arthur was born. A black butterfly flutters past Mordrids' eyes, And Arthur, seeing his chance, leaps forward and cries,
Honey laced with venom. Who will you forsake? Be careful what you wish for. Is this a chance you want to take?
"Seven oaths for seven deceits! Seven triumphs for seven defeats! Seven new banners and seven new wreaths! Seven new moments for seven heartbeats!"
Honey laced with venom. The shadows bow their heads and turn Toward a new day for evil to fight, For darkness to conquer, for demons to learn.
"Seven new chances for seven old foes! Seven new joys for seven old woes! Seven new forests where new trees now grow! Seven conquerors conquered, laid low!"
Honey laced with venom. A bitter scarlet past. Now new shadows will haunt thee. Your new joy will never last.
The princess can't watch; she can't bear to see Arthurs' demise, the kingdoms' defeat. She isn't watching when Mordrid is gone. She missed it, mislaid it, she didn't join the song.
Honey laced with venom. The demons crawl back to their lair. They hide in shadows far away. Do not follow, do not dare.
She turned away for barely a second, And now it is over; she can't recollect it! All for one moment, scared of one glance Of what could be but wasn't, for a happy chance.
Honey laced with venom. A glowing vial of silver moon. The warriors are returning. They'll arrive in Camelot soon.
Seven trees for seven streams. Seven nights for seven dreams. Seven things that are not as they seem. Seven swords in soft light gleam.
Honey laced with venom, A new era shall now begin. So much pain to crown a king. So much sorrow, so much sin.
Seven lives, most were lost. Seven glimpses of terrible cost. Seven hearts of stone and frost. Seven tapestries, destroyed by moths,
Honey laced with venom. May the new kings' reign be long. May he be blessed with a son like the falcon. And may that falcon, like its namesake, be loyal and strong.
Seven beginnings for seven ends. Seven chances for light to come again. Seven lights for places dark and dim. And seven ones hoping for the return of him.
Venom laced with honey. Honey laced with venom. Over are battles long and bloody. Now are the days we stand in the sun.

They repeat the chorus four times. Can you guess the song? If nto, then it is the song called Dragostei Din Tei, or Numa Numa Are you sure those are the right words? Cause I have the actual English version by O-Zone (the band that sings it) on my iPod, and thats not it at all...

Five little welts, raised up, Bleeding where the razor edge of your hands Split the skin. The wounds heal, But five little half-moons forever Remain behind. An angry red warning, Now a pale white reminder. Five little scars that never went away. I love you too, Daddy… Five curled fingers, balled in a fist, Flying toward me from afar, Leaving five identical bruises on my body. Five lovely flowers, blotched yellow, black, blue, Blossom on my arms and stomach. They say to me you love me, That you care that I did wrong. I don’t know what I did, But I swear I’ll learn. Bruises fade after a while, The flowers die. But I know new ones will take their place soon. I love you too, baby.

 Re: Poems!!!
so this is just something I wrote in english class in... sometime in the fall and I dont really like it but i thought some of you might.
I have learned that the world is not doing okay, And that it is war-torn, with people dying every day. I have learned to say “I love you” to friends and family Because it could be the last time they hear you. I have learned to live every day like your last, Because it could be your last hour at any given moment. I have learned everyone has problems that can’t be fixed, And so do I. I have learned that I have to live with what I am, Because there’s no going back now. I have learned to never accomplish all of your goals too fast, Because then you have nothing to work for. I have learned that most dreams do not come true, But you should still dream. I have learned that life isn’t fair to anybody, So you just have to deal with it and move along. I have learned that if you don’t like something, Make one of your own and you will like it, But someone else won’t. I have learned many things in my life, but yet, But there is always more that I must learn And there is always more than what meets the eye.

Little gray cat My little cat, Gray and sleek, Climbs onto my lap, purring. He licks my hand, I pet him back, For a while we sit outside together. Then my little gray cat gets up, Stretches, And walks away.
Looking to Summer Walking down Hungary Point trail, A warm, sunny spring day. I’m surprised by the heat, Summer’s peeking in, Bringing with it an influx of color. I return my thoughts to the trail in front of me, My view is obstructed, but this much I can tell: It’s leading forward to a bright new future.
Ripples The water is a prism as light shoots through. I throw a stone- Splash. Light sparkles through the ripples And I wish I could preserve this moment Forever.

 Re: Poems!!!
This is called "And they danced"
The spirit sang to eastward winds, The singer sang to restless crowds. The spirit sang where life began, The singer sang strong, the singer sang loud.
They joined in one calling, they joined in one voice. They joined in one harmony, they joined in one choice. Together they sang of what had been told, Of what was to come, they sang proud and bold.
And they danced, how they danced. They soared through the nations telling their tale. And they danced, how they danced. They came ‘cross the whole world, with wind in their sails. How they danced.
The spirit sang past curfews’ eve, Singing all its songs. The singer sang past evenings’ tide, And continued on ‘til dawn.
They joined in calling, joined in one voice. They joined in one harmony, they joined in one choice. Together they sang of what had been told, Of what was to come, they sang proud and bold.
And they danced, how they danced. They soared through the nations telling their tale. And they danced, how they danced. They came ‘cross the whole world with wind in their sails. How they danced.
But foes did rise, with wrathful scorn, To strike down the songs of truth. They struck with swords, they struck with lies, They struck with bitterness, uncouth.
But the singer sang the Spirits’ song, Proclaiming loud and bold That whatever war the world did rage The songs must still be told.
So they joined in one calling, they joined in one voice.
But still smoke rose to choke and hide, To kill the honest words. It sought out a new ally, man, Easy to bind and curse.
With man now turned against the truth The foe, he had a plan. Man, with evil hatred, vile Would help him, make him grand.
But the singer sang unto the earth, Telling of the Spirits’ song. The spirit sang still, loud and clear, Together they sang strong.
They joined in one calling, they joined in one voice. They joined in one harmony, they joined in one choice. Together they sang of what had been told, Of what was to come, they sang proud and bold.
And they danced, how they danced. They soared through the nations, telling their tale. And they danced, how they danced. They came ‘cross the whole world with wind in their sails. How they danced.
They knew God would rise, victorious, no matter what should come. So they continued on, mindful of what was to happen soon. They sang their songs throughout the land, telling their true tale. They sang it loud and taught of others of their just and holy tune.
So many came to learn the song, many sang it clear. And it rang still more everywhere, reaching the whole worlds’ ears. So when it came that time was done many came to stand Before God the king, where they would sing His song so sovereign, grand.
They joined in one calling, they joined in one voice. They joined in one harmony, they’d joined in one choice. To serve the King, the one true king, forever more they sang. Forever more, forever still, the saviors song, it rang.
And they danced, how they danced. They soared through the kingdom, telling their tale. And they danced, how they danced. They sang to Jehovah, how He never fails. And they danced, how they danced.
And they danced. _______________________________________________________________
It's actually a song, but whatever lol ^?^ The Spirit is the Holy Spirit and the Singer is, of course, a preacher ^?^

 Re: Poems!!!
I haven't written any poems for years. Here are some of my favorites though:
Three rings for the Elven kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf lords in their halls of stone, Nine for the mortal men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne, In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie, One rings to rule them all, one ring to find them, One ring to bring them all, and into to darkness bind them, In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie.-J.R.R. Tolkien
------------------------------------------------------------
All that is gold does not glitter, Not all who wander are lost, The old that are strong do not wither, Deep roots are not reached by frost, A fire from the ashes shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring, Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.-J.R.R. Tolkien
-------------------------------------------------------------
Twas brillig and the slithy toves, Did gyre and gimble in the wabe, All mimsy in the borogoves, And the momeraths outgrabe.
Beware the Jabberwock, my son, The jaws that bite, the claws that snatch, Beware the Jubjub bird and shun, The frumcious Bandersatch.
So he took his Vorpal sword in hand, Long time maxome foe he sought, Til rest he by the Tumtum tree, And stood a while in thought.
And as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwocky with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgy wood, And burbled as it came.
One two, one two, and through and through, The Vorpal blade went snickersnack, He left it dead and with its head, He went galumphing back.
And hast thou slain the Jabber wocky? Oh come to my arms my beamish boy, Oh frabjous day, calloo callay, He chortled in his joy.
Twas brillig and the slithy toves, Did gyre and gimble in the wabe, All mimsy were the borogoves, And the momeraths outgrabe.-Lewis Carroll
And last but not least:
In the kingdom by the sea, In the mountains mantles blue, On frigid winter's final day, Was born a man with but one task,
To kill the for in Durza, In the land of shadows,
Nurtured by the kind and wise, Under oaks as old as time, He ran with dear and wrestled bear, And from his elders learned the skills,
To kill the foe in Durza, In the land of shadows,
Quick as thought the years did turn, Til the man had come of age, His body burned with fevered rage, While youth's impatience seared his veins,
Then he met a maiden fair, Who was tall and strong and wise, Her brow adorned with Geda's light, Which shone upon her trailing gown,
In her eyes of mifnight blue, In those enigmatic pools, Appeared to him a future bright, Together where they would not have,
To fear the foe in Durza, In the land of shadows,
In the dark before the dawn, In the room where slept the man, The foe he crept and loomed above, His mighty rival now so weak,
From his pillow did the man, Raise his head and look upon, The cold and empty face of death, The king of everlasting night,
Calm acceptance filled the man's, Aged heart; For long ago, He'd lost all fear of death's embrace, The last embrace a man will know,
Gently like the morning breeze, Bent the foe and from the man, His glowing pulsing spirit took, And thence in peace they went to dwell,
Forever more in Durza, In the land of shadows.-Eragon's contribution to the Agaeti Blodhren

Pigeons
Pigeons by the water, Green, purple, gray and black, Nature's subtle beauty. Pigeons on the roof, A flock of ten, twenty, more, Softly cooing to each other. The sight of them all rising into the air, The sound of the rush of dozens of wings, The desire to lose my weight, Rise up into the air, Join them.

 Re: Poems!!!
EEEEEEEEEEEEP! Lego, y-you posted the...the...*Chokes* Alice in Wonderland poem...EEP! *Hides behind a cow* Scawy dat, much much so....(Sorry, I'm still sort of in character for one of my others...)
And CDG, HOW DO YOU DO IT? Like, all of your poems are so goooood that it's just wrong! *High fives you* Excellent, much. ^?^
Here's one that I wrote a few days ago. It makes me sound rather bitter and angsty, but you guys all know that I'm not soooooooooo...yeah, here it is. 's called "Godspeed to the Knights"
The clouds, they are aching with rain that won’t fall, And you, you are thinking that it’s no good at all To wish for something else, when you can’t even crawl, Too bad that the mountain you’re climbing is just a little too tall.
The grass has turned brown and there’s ash in the air, You’re stumbling and falling, but nobody cares. The smoke fills your lungs and no one is there To catch you, to save you when you’re going nowhere.
Shouting and chaos is all that you hear, And the world, it is ending, that’s what you fear. The wind, it is howling, drowning any sounds near, And only the shrieks of the dead reach your ears.
Godspeed to the knights with their armour and swords, May they run, swift, into battle, though they have no horses. May they see through the bloodshed to find their way home, And may they never lose sight of the true savior’s throne.
Haven’t I seen you somewhere before? Didn’t I meet you when you first walked through the door? Weren’t you there in the middle of this mess, at the very core? Wasn’t I the one to pick you up off the floor?
I think I’ve seen your face, maybe when the mirror reflected Back to me the world that’s somehow become so infected. You were the bright spot that remained, still unaffected, Your path and mine, no, you and I, darkness and light, are we connected?
My old friend, tell me, how did it go? How did it feel to watch your tears turn to snow? How was it to kneel, lost and alone, with only your shadow? How was it to be lost once more, afraid? How was it to know, just know?
Godspeed to the knights with their armour and swords, May they run, swift, into battle, though they have no horse. May they see through the bloodshed to find their way home, And may they never lose sight of the true saviors’ throne.
So what was it like, to learn to ignore your pain For the sake of something bigger, outside of self-gain? What was it like as fear ripped your mind, when death was so plain? How did it feel when you realized that it wasn’t just a game?
What was it like when agony tore you apart? What was it like to find a rusty dagger deep inside your heart? How did it feel when you saw that it was just the start? How did it feel to know the last thing you’d see was the dark?
What was it like to realize that you couldn’t stand on your own? How did it feel to admit that now, now you’re all alone In the pit of despair that you now call your home? How did it feel when you saw your face reflected in bones?
Godspeed to the knights with their armour and swords, May they ride, swift, into battle, though they have no horses. May they see through the bloodshed to find their way home, And may they never lose sight of the true saviors’ throne.
So what happens now, now that you know who you are? Or have you forgotten already, even though you’ve come so far? It figures you’d stay here, not follow, even if the door is ajar. It’s typical action, you know, that, though there’s light, you’d rather stay in the dark.
You, who found the grave, lost ‘round the bend, You, who survived, alone, to die again, You, who burned, though kissed by the wind, How can you die now? Is there any way to win?
So are you a flower or weed, or do you even know? Surely you’ve learned now, so will you follow? Do you even know where you’ll go? Or would you rather kneel, all alone, watching your tears turn to snow?
Godspeed to the knights with their armour and swords, May they ride, swift, into battle, though they have no horses. May they see through the bloodshed to find their way home, And may they never lose sight of the true saviors’ throne.
So shall we meet soon in battle or is all forgiven, Not lightly, I think, can such a deed be done. No, your soul is lost, and your old friends forsake you, And new allies hate you, so there’s nowhere to run.
Now your ship is in, your kingdom has come. In the rubble of old things, you see the truth brought? You search and you search, but no one will find you. Look now in sorrow, and enjoy what you’ve wrought.
You’ve signed your death in blood, it’s on your own knife. This is the sum of your treacherous life. The people you once loved, can you hear them crying? The weep not for themselves, but rather for you do tears pour from their eyes.
Godspeed to the knights with their armour and swords, May they ride, swift, into battle, though they have no horses. May they see through the bloodshed to find their way home, And may they never lose sight of the true saviors’ throne.
So now it is finished, and what have you won, But the wrath of a nation, your legacy unsung? Your name is forgotten, like you never lived, And you have now vanished, though kissed by the wind.
What do you say now, figment of memory? Do you weep for your losses or tell lies of chivalry? You sing for your own self, yet believe not for a second, That you’re really worth it, your life’s just a lesson.
But take heart in this one thought, that you’ll live once more, Have another chance to do what you didn’t before. Learn from this fell death, and grieve for your fools’ pride, Know in your heart that it’s your own fault you died.
Godspeed to the knights with their armour and swords, May they ride, swift, home from war, though they have no horses. May they forget all the bloodshed and soon find their way home. And may they kneel, ever more, before the true saviors’ throne.
Heh heh, I'm not sure, but I think that that's my most emo yet. XP I play a rendition of it on me violin too, terribly angsty tune, that. ^?^

:) Thanks! Yours are awesome too, you know. Normally my poems aren't quite like that. I think maybe i'm branching out a little in style. In a few days i'm going out of town.... Which means i'll be in a CITY. With freeways and malls and traffic. Doesn't do much for my poetic abilities-Unless i write about my dislike for big cities! I wonder how that would turn out...

Deer in the Woods
I ran, going nowhere I'd traversed this path before I ran with Flit beside me, Through the forest's fauna and flora.
Maryland's surrondings, Familiar without fail, We ran along the power lines, Following the service trail.
I hate to leave this beautiful place, I hate to see it go I slow down suddenly and stop I see a buck and doe
I will be sad to leave this place, These woods, they are so dear I hate to go to Scarolina Where there seem to be no deer.

:) I like it! We have deer here, too. Only difference is, ours don't get more than four feet tall.

 Re: Poems!!!
that's the size of our deer here at the shoulder lol. They're pretty, and i love to walk over to the farmer's field or go in the woods to try to seen the fauns. It's so fun to watch them play, they're almost like horse foals the way the nibble and and interact with each other.

 Re: Poems!!!
I haven't gotten to washington yet, so no angsty city-hater poetry. But here's something i wrote on the plane.
Fantasyland A snowy land of magic and wonder, A beatiful, sparkling realm of white, An undiscovered world of fairies.
Shimmering white mountains below, The blue extending forever and ever above, Flying above the clouds, I find A fantasyland.
EDIT: Eeek! What's with the color? I AM IRRITATED WITH MY IPHONE!

 Re: Poems!!!
This one's going to seem a bit....weird...but... _______________________________________________________________
Torture Chamber Dreamland
Blood drips down the walls as screams are dripping from the cells. Not a sound is cherished like the ringing of the bells. It's the turn of three o' clock, and the lovely cat o' nine tails In your torture chamber dreamland, a land where hell prevails.
Darkness fills the eyes of those who leer through bars of night. These chains cannot be broken, though you've tried with all your might. Your eyes are bloodied, useless, your body's broken, slack, And, when you leave your cell this time, you won't be comin' back.
Honey coats the lies this time, you don't mind a little blood. At least you'll die unashamed when all is said and done. You hoped for something stronger, something else to ease your pain, But instead you only watch as, laughing, they rip apart your veins.
Torn and shaking, lying there, madness calms your fear. At least insanity can comfort, though your brands, they can still sear. You hoped to be remembered for this sacrifice you made, But now that you recall it, you did ask to die a knave.
In your torture chamber dreamland, you're neither prince, nor knight. In your torture chamber dreamland, it helps to lose the fight. In your torture chamber dreamland, only you know of your good deed. 'cause outside of tortures' dreamland, they recall their creed.
You haven't made a sound since last, or have they cut your tongue? Such a shame that you should die in here, but you'd love to die, so young. Your blood has lost its worth and, though your song rings true, Your bones gleam white and bared, and I'll remember you.
Your shield was scratched and broken, they beat you with your sword. You beg for death that won't come, you bow to your king and lord. Too bad you've lost your senses, you had such a lovely face. But nothing lasts forever, moreso in this place.
In your torture chamber dreamland, you decide you're worth, at least, The defiance gleaming in your eyes as you kneel before your masters' feet. In your torture chamber dreamland, you lie among the bones. In your torture chamber dreamland, it's not bad to die alone. _______________________________________________________________
No, I'm not really that...weird...but...yeah...it just popped into my head XP

 Re: Poems!!!
Lol, sorry, I was thinking about Gryphlet (From King Arthur legends) and it just sort of popped into me head. XP Here's something that might actually be more worrysome lol
There was a man named Dan with a son called Coltran, who had a band in a can that wasn't namebrand. Oneday Dan, and his son, Coltran (Who had a band) went out to see the land, but they got hit by a van. Out of the van that had hit Dan and his son, Coltran (Who had a band), came a guy named Stan, and actually he ran. Now Dan didn't like that Stan didn't watch where he ran and had hit him and his son, Coltran, who had a band. So there was a huge shake down and the rest is history.

 Re: Poems!!!
Gryphlet? If he's the person i think he is, i don't see how he could inspire that. But then, my knowledge of arthurian legends is a little odd. Maybe when i'm not reading it so fast, i'll get that last bit.

 Re: Poems!!!
The second one has nothing to do with Gryphlet lol ^_^
*Deep breath* Gryphlet: He was a squire, you see, and while out with the knight whoms' squire he be, he saw his master (Sir Knight) be beat by a theif (This dude who kills knights and takes their shields) But no worries, no fear, the knight was just harmed. Dignity, the most, when he found himself unarmed. So he returned to the castle with Gryphlet in tow, and this is wherefore springs the legend we know. Gryphlet was cross at the defeat of his master, so he begged to be knighted, surely a disaster. But Arthur, he caved, and knighted the lad, not knowing that things were about to turn for the bad. Gryphlet he went to unseat the knight who'd bested his master, though in a fair fight. That knight didn't want to beat up a kid, but Gryphlet insisted, so here's what he did. that knight won at jousting, and swordplay as well, so Gryphlet was injured, and out for a spell. The knight felt remorse at what he had done, so he took Gryphlet to Camelot, as fast as he could run.
And we don't know if the kid lived or not. Because they figured he was so unimportant that they might as well not tell us.
But I read a book once where the knight was actually evil and stuff, so he took Gryphy with him and made him be a servent and whatnot. So then Gryphs' real master had to come and rescue him. They left it the same though, where you don't know if he's alive or not. I forget whice version of the legend it's in. (Like, every King Arthur Author has their own version)

 Re: Poems!!!
Ehhh, since no one has posted a poem for so long I suppose it won't be a bad thing to post one again now. _______________________________________________________________
A gown of midnight flows like silk, a lace of awe adorns, Slippers velvet on a ladys' feet, and amulets of crystal, worn. A locket hangs about her neck, silver, rusted, used. A photo there does bear the mark of age with brown and yellowed hues.
Her hair, ebony in light, or rather lack thereof. Her eyes, her eyes, a moonlit blue, sparkle still with love. Her skin, though pale, is warm and soft, her hands of gentle touch. Her smile, broken yet kind, her gaze wandering; she loved once, much.
She sets upon an ivory mount with a gleaming, silken mane. Bright, wide eyes do search the night, though the searching is in vain. She calls out loud, her voice a song of gentle worried tone, She chills your soul unto the core, whilst setting fire to your bones.
A blue glass rose is buried now, beneath the ocean sky. A broken grave is all that's left, a memory, chant, your life. She looks for you with glazed eyes, almost mad and wild. If only she knew you won't return, you her only child.
The knight in shining armour fell, his promise good no more. A new tree grows in long dead soil, not shaken by the lore. Yet no flower blooms, where marks the spot, where war was fought in vain. For it would do no good to recall the day when so much good was slain.
Her eyes fall upon the ruin of your forgotten, empty tomb. Her eyes close softly, full of woe, and she returns once more to you. In the forest, dark and dreary, by the lake, pitch black and glass, The two of you find peace again, peace again, at last. _____________________________________________________________
Lame ending, I know, but I was just writing it as it came into my head. I'll edit it later probably. XP

 Re: Poems!!!
Curfewdawn, I really like your poetry. It's unique. Here's a small one I wrote when I was bored a while back.
I search without eyes, Within a dark night, A frozen plead, And a heart filled with fright. The thing that I seek, Is a door all alone, A window in time, A pathway back home. I search and I seek, But never can find, The shimering mist, Of what I once left behind.
I need to adjust it a lot, and maybe add a bit more to it, but it will do for now.

 Re: Poems!!!
It's been awhile since I posted one of these. I'm actually quite proud of this one really. It's actually a song XP I came up with it last night in one of my dreams, one of the scenes anyways, and today I just had to write the whole thing out ^;^
Perfect frozen features, dripping wet with rain. Surrounded by dark creatures, ripped apart by pain. So it ends this way now, all alone together still. But is it over yet, the question's asked, and only time will tell.
Fade into the background, disappearing quickly. Never there at all but always there for everyone. Never what you should've been, everything you didn't have to be. Invisible, forgotten angel, you were always there for me.
Turn back the clock, make it right again. Lose a little more of yourself just trying to do what's right. You don't remember any more, haven't a clue who you might be. But that's okay, since you saved the day, one more star in one more night.
Fade into the background, disappearing quickly. Never there at all but always there for everyone. Never what you should've been, everything you didn't have to be. Invisible, forgotten angel, you were always there for me.
Hesitate, hold your breath. Don't blink, leaping in the flames. Go ahead, flying speed, hold back when all is safe and sound. No one sees, no one hears, no one stops to know your fears. That's not your way, you're just lost and never found.
Fade into the background, disappearing quickly. Never there at all but always there for everyone. Never what you should've been, everything you didn't have to be. Invisible, forgotten angel, you were always there for me.
Change of face, but you knew it was coming for you someday. Same heart, same soul, but it doesn't matter as long as you're still here. Wait a moment, then go back, don't waste a second, don't waste a moment. Grab them all, take them back, they're all yours anyway.
Fade into the background, disappearing quickly. Never there at all but always there for everyone. Never what you should've been, everything you didn't have to be. Invisible, forgotten angel, you were always there for me.
It's all different now, I see it coming, falling like new snow. Red memories unchained and flowing, things you wish you didn't know. The daemon knows your secrets now, just as I have learned them too. Show me who you really are, how and why you do the things you do.
Fade into the background, disappearing quickly. Never there at all but always there for everyone. Never what you should've been, everything you didn't have to be. Invisible, forgotten angel, you were always there for me.
Your eyes are sad and grey now, so tired, cold and grim. You've seen too much and been to long, don't linger any more. But don't go away just yet, stay a little longer. Fearless ghost, weeping shadow, I've seen your face before.
Fade into the background, disappearing quickly. Never there at all but always there for everyone. Never what you should've been, everything you didn't have to be. Invisible, forgotten angel, you were always there for me.
The clock is ticking backwards, let's undo what wrong was wraught. Pour sand back in the hourglass, don't slip through my hands again. But the sun is shattered, frozen glass, there is blood around you now. Because your past has returned now, haunting you, forget all that you've been taught.
Fade into the background, disappearing quickly. Never there at all but always there for everyone. Never what you should've been, everything you didn't have to be. Invisible, forgotten angel, you were always there for me.
Dancing figures in a snowglobe, no worries and no fears. Dancing round in starlight, don't you wish that we were there? Dancing in the hourglass, twirling in safe hands. Would you do it if you could then, just go back to dance?
Fade into the background, disappearing quickly. Never there at all but always there for everyone. Never what you should've been, everything you didn't have to be. Invisible, forgotten angel, you were always there for me.
My perfect, faceless angel, will you recall time yet again? Rewind for one more moment, a shining shoreline too? A chilling wind, untouched by days, and an ocean, blazing blue? Your time is up, our time is gone, I can see it burning now, in you.
Fade into the background, disappearing quickly. Never there at all but always there for everyone. Never what you should've been, everything you didn't have to be. Invisible, forgotten angel, you were always there for me.
Perfect frozen features, dripping wet with rain. Surrounded by dark creatures, ripped apart by pain. So it ends this way now, all alone, together still. But is it over yet, the question's asked, and only time will tell.

 Re: Poems!!!
Determination
The wil to keep going, in spite of impossible odds. The endurance to going in the face of impassable obstacles. The tenacity to keep swimming, even against the current, The determination to see it through to the end.
The end and the beginning
A flush of color blooming over the herizon, Seagulls flying to their nests, The air growing slowly colder, The moon rising from its sleep, At the end of day.
The moon shining like a beacon, Waiting till the dawn, Proclaming light in the darkness, Along with stars, tiny sparks of hope.
Destruction
A wild beast, almost bursting from its cage, Barely chained intensity. The beast's guardians, Desperately trying to contain it, Incredible power to annhilate. If it breaks away, who will be able to stop it? If no ome kills it, the world wild be destroyed. All that keeps the world safe are the guardians, Ever vigilant, Holding back the beast.

 Re: Poems!!!
This is about half of what I'll be reciting at the 4-H story contest whenever the time comes ^;^
Dear Gallifrey (YES I got it from Doctor Who SO????!!!)
There was a world, not long ago, Where Autumn blazed for time. Crimson, orange, and scarlet hues Burned eternal through the trees. None could hinder nor could reach That brilliant glory, Gallifry.
Golden days, they soared throughout And soft tin secrets sang. A bronze enchantment stilled the world And calmed each one who lingered there. But for bburning wings and constant peace How long would last that, dear Gallifrey?
Come look into the heart of time, Don't blink nor deign to flee. T'will harm ye none with pounding drums, And call to sleep and war your sons. But look too long, what did you see? The coming fall of dear Gallifrey?
The clockwork angels saw it come, A war to bring their doom. And steel hearts frozw and turned in fear To death and greater vows to live. As battles raged, the angels wept, drums sounding in their dreams. Where had gone, alas no more, glorious Gallifrey.
The angels took a deadly march, Their steps as drumbeats then. "Alons-y, and hasten on," they whispered in the dark, "We'll rise another day, you see, alons'y, we march!" Over before the end, it died and how the stars did weep, For clockwork angels no more to sing your song, dear old Gallifrey,
XP that's part of it; I'm stilll working on the rest. ^l^

 Re: Poems!!!
I had to write a ballad for school. I was supposed to write it on a historical event, but I just couldn't get going so I decided to write one for Lord of the Rings. Here's the Fellowship of the Rings in ballad form.
There once lived a creature, A short little thing, He had slight elvish features, And carried with him a ring.
This ring it is so told, Was made in Mount Doom, By the dark lord Sauron of the evilest gold, And this ring was to bring Middle Earth’s doom.
To do this vile deed, Sauron did pour, All of his power, evil, and greed, Into the ring in the depths of Mordor.
This ring it was chopped, From his hand by Isildur, Who was then taken to an outcrop, Over the fires of Mount Doom in Mordor.
The ring led Isildur to his demise, A hobbit named Smeagol’s brother then found it, Smeagol then took from his brother despite his cries, And the ring took him as it saw fit.
The ring then betrayed him, When the hobbit Bilbo took it up, He found it on a quest to the Lonely Mountain, A quest that would make his reputation corrupt.
On Bilbo’s 111th birthday, Gandalf came to town, And told him that this was the day, That the ring should pass down.
To his nephew Frodo, The ring was given away, But Frodo he was warned to, Not show the ring in night or day.
For magical powers, it had, That many sought after, And to put it simply, it would be bad, If Sauron managed to take the ring forever.
Then one day, Gandalf came to the Shire, He told young Frodo to place the ring in a fire, And what appeared was quite dire, For this was the one ring to rule them all.
With this information now apparent, Gandalf to Frodo to leave, To Bree he was sent, With his ever faithful Gardener to follow him through the trees.
Along the road they met two cousins, Merry and Pippin by name, They wanted to join them, And on this adventure they came.
When they got to Bree, Gandalf could not be found, Instead they found the King of Gondor to be, Who had been told to lead them to Rivendell ground.
To Rivendell they headed, But alas there was a tragedy, Up on Whethertop, The Nine Rider’s created a sally.
Frodo he was wounded, By a Morgul sword, His life now hung between life and death, But his death was not one that they could afford.
Glorfindel of Rivendell, slayer of a Balrog, Met with the company, To help them on their way, Upon seeing Frodo, Glorfindel said he’d take him to be healed.
While atop his white horse Asfaloth they were chased, By the Nazgul on horses of the dead Across the river Anduin they raced But across the Anduin the Nazgul could not tread.
When Frodo woke in Rivendell He then learned, That Gandalf had gone to tell, The wizard Saruman of where the ring now dwell.
But Saruman was evil, He had betrayed them all, In a way he dropped an anvil, Meant to make them fall.
The wound Frodo had received Would never fully heal, But until her went to the Gray Havens he would not be relieved, For the Ring must be destroyed for real.
A council there was taken, And it was decided, That a company of nine , Would take the ring .
With Frodo as the Ringbearer, Merry and Pippin went too, And of course his faithful gardener, Would be needed to help them through.
Of men there was Aragorn, Isildur’s only heir, Bearer of the sword Anduril, And owner of the title, “Man With The Dirtiest Hair”
And then there was Boromir, Heir to the Steward of Gondor, He was the one that they would fear, Would be taken by the ring as he was before.
Gandalf joined and he did swear, To help Frodo as much as he could, For as long as long as the ring was his burden to bare, He would help him as he should.
Of elves there was Legolas, Son of King Thranduil of Mirkwood, A mighty archer who never missed, And bearer of the news of Gollums escape.
There was also the dwarf Gimli, Cousin of Balien, Lord of Moria, The axeman of the company, The one who would hew the skulls of many orcs to come.
The Fellowship of the Ring, That is what they were named, And in late October, they started walking, To take the ring to Mordor for the time to defeat Sauron had came.
Over the Caradhras they traveled, Till they were stopped by Saruman, Who caused avalanches and massive snowfall, To make them all turn around.
To Moria, Gimli said, To the Gap of Rohan, said Boromir, Let the Ringbearer decided, said Gandalf, And decided, Frodo did.
Through Moria they went, But the trip was not easy by any doubt, For Moria had been overthrown, And dwarven bodies were strewn about.
Orcs attacked and a troll appeared, And they deigned to bring the death of the Fellowship, But that was not to be, The orcs were defeated, as was the troll.
Not all was well though, A Balrog was summoned to kill them all, The nine, they ran to the bridge of Kazad Dum, Gandalf stayed back to defend them all.
He broke the bridge and the Balrog fell, But alas, because not all was well, The whip of the Balrog, it snapped up, And grabbed a hold of Gandalf’s foot.
As he was pulled into the chasm, Gandalf said, Fly you fools, And fly they did, With no time to mourn they continued on.
They went to Lothlorien then, The Golden Woods of the Lady Galadriel, Or the Elf-Witch as Gimli called her, But an Elf-Witch she was not, Only an elf with foresight.
In the woods of Lothlorien, The Fellowship took rest, And Frodo looked into Galadriel’s mirror, And appeared to him was a future, That could have been, that was, and that could be.
When they left Lothlorien, They left with gifts, Earendil’s light for Frodo, Silver belts for Merry and Pippin.
A golden belt for Boromir, An Elven bow for Legolas, And a magic sheath for Aragorn, Along with the Elfstone, And for Gimli, he requested, A hair from Galadriel’s crown, And he was given not one, but three.
Along with these, they were given, A cloak of mottled green, A special cloak to keep the hidden, From each and every fiend.
From Lothlorien they went, On boats to the hill of Amon Hen, But by Gollum they were pursued, He followed their every step.
At the hill of Amon Hen, Boromir was finally taken, Frodo, he trapped, And the ring he tried to take.
But the ring was not to be taken, For then Frodo slipped on the ring and fled, To the boats he went, To Morder he would go alone, he decided.
Of the rest of the company, They were fighting hard, To keep the halflings safe, And to let Frodo escape.
Sam would not let Frodo leave alone, He followed him to the boats, He told Frodo that he would go with him, And Frodo could not say no, For there was not time to squabble, Before the Uruk-Hai would slit their throats.
So away they went towards Mordor, To have the Ring destroyed, None knew if he’d make it, Or if Middle Earth would fall.

The Elite Insane vs. Beetle the Bard
The elite of the insane rode from home away again they travelled long they travelled hard best thing they found was Beedle the Bard
They beat him they beat him down they beat Beedle right out of town
Then home they came and home they went and now they're here they're out of rent.
Bizarre? Yes, duh. Random? Also duh. Entirely stupid? Yeah, maybe? Funny? Yep, I think it's hilarious.

 Re: Poems!!!
Skilled in all the weary. Leader amongst the peasents, Doesn't raise a finger in the need of every presence.
Evil comes and evil goes, that's what he alway's says. But none compare to the demon ware, That is called the demon Fez.
Evil night and evil day, The nights are very long. Even though his love is gone, He fears the world has made him long
For the woman that he once loved, Though the day hath passeth by, Upon hearing his beloved's dying screams, to the night does he cry...
lol i little demon poem I made up on the spot.
