Kariana ducked. She was outside the small town of Daret. It was a clear, fresh day, and she was worried she would be spotted. When all was silent (except for the dark crows calling in the sky) she dashed across the clearing. The wall stood a little way ahead. She pressed herself against it, avoiding as many watch towers as possible. When she felt all was clear, she slunk through an abandoned side entrance. The town was quiet- too quiet. Fearing the worst, Kariana padded carefully towards to market place, the only sound was her thick tail dragging across the hard ground. As she turned the last corner, she bowed her head hopelessly. Her fears were revealed, the place lay littered with bodies, blood on the ground like a slippery red carpet. Disgusted, she walked towards one, glancing around for any possible traps. Slowly, she turned the man over with her large claw as respectfully as possible, and bared her teeth in an angry snarl. The spear protruding from his chest was of urgal make.
They have been here. She thought sorrowfully to herself.

ic- Ioksok stumbled out of the house, his leg was broken, he had a long cut from his left eye to hte right side of his chin. "So many dead" he said aloud, useing his bow as a cruch he limped out into the street. "Come on urgals" he cried "there is still one left" he pulled a spear from the body of a villager that he knew all of his life, he heard a scraping sound he turned to quickly his leg gave out and he fell "I will kill you all" he yelled angerly, and strugled to get up.

Asmana fairly waded through the bodies. “Filthy Urgals,” she muttered. Bloody covered her jet-black cloak and boots. Her hair stood up, stiff, with the blood that had been on her hands as she ran her hands through it. Her violet eyes glowed with danger. A young girl lay panting frantically in an alley, a spear through her lower stomach. Her eyes rolled back into her head wildly, and sweat bulleted down her face. “Rest, child.” Asmana muttered, releasing her. Then, “I will kill whoever is responsible for this.”

Kariana froze as she heard something behind her. She turned around, annoyed that she could not prevent her tail from making a scraping sound as it dragged across the bare ground. She saw nothing, but she could hear a low muttering. It seemed to be coming from a small alley. Listening carefully, she decided it was too fair-a voice to belong to an urgal. Slowly, she crept towards the alleyway, holding her breath in suspense, as the stench of death filled her nostrils.

Asmana’s veins went cold as ice as she saw a huge creature heading towards a distant sound. She had heard the muttering, with her enhanced senses, but that did nothing to ease the fact that something unidentifiable was heading her way. Drawing her sword with both hands, Asmana stood, ready. Her violet eyes seemed to glow with a readiness for battle no mortal should have been accustomed to. She took off her cloak, vanishing it into her pack with magic, and stood, black-booted feet apart. Her black pants were stiff with dirt and grime, and her grey and crimson camise had been torn in several places after a month of traveling. Asmana brushed a strand of red hair away from her face. Sharp nails left indents in the sword’s grip as she tensed, the veins of her pale hands strained.

She whispered into the warm, battled-squeezed air, “Let me live through this. Let me live to see another day.”

"Who is it? Whos there?" Ioksok yelled, he had made it to his feet and put his spear in front of him.
Ioksok hobbled over to the entrance of the ally. A giant scaley head of a dragon that was deep amythest color snaked its way into the ally Ioksok yelled and held his spear so tight his knuckles turned white. "Who are you?" he asked with a shaky voice.

Kariana bared her teeth, in a small sneer.
All you need to know, is that I am no enemy. She replied, retreating from the spear carefully.
She backed away from the alley so it did not make the person feel trapped.
The real question is, who are you? She straightened her neck to see over him, and discover what he was doing with the spear!

"my name is Ioksok, i lived here fought here, and almost died here." he said quitly. Ioksok's leg gave out, he fell to the ground. Useing the spear, he managed to stand up "How did you talk to me?". He looked at the bright eyes he could see that the dragon was an intiligent creature.

Kariana grinned, seeing that he was no threat.
I don't know myself, but I see that you are not usually in contact with magical creatures! She settled down a bit.
Some form of mind communication, seeing as it is impossible for dragons like me to form words with their mouths. By the way, my name is Kariana. She looked at him in a concerned way.
Are you alright? She asked, sympathetically.

He looked at her in amazement, "I think my leg is broken." he said. Ioksok looked around he gaged, "Why are you here?" he asked as Kariana helped him walk out in to the town square, just yesterday it was full of laughing children, mercants, singing mothers as they did there work, every body had there place. Now all the people of the his town were gone, all killed. Ioksok saw a movement in the middle of a street.

Eagan can sense smell of blood from every place inside town. He slowly drew his sword so it didn’t make any sound. He looked at alley but there wasn’t anything. Where shall I go? He thinks. Once more he looked around but there wasn’t anything special suddenly he saw something different lying on the ground. It was hand holding a sword.

“Oh my god!” said Eagan quietly when he saw many more bodies on little square but there was on more very strange thing -some noise… Yeah some guy is talking to himself.Eagan went into middle of street to saw what’s happening…

Kariana saw something too, but ignored it.
I was following the band of urgals. She explained.
I hoped to find them before they did any more damage, but it looks like I was too late. She said regretfully. She allowed ioksok to hold onto one of her ivory neck spines as he hobbled towards the town centre.

Eagan saw a dragon for first time and he was so amazed that he can't move. He was just standing and watching with his mouth open...

OOC-maybe we should wait for svit-kona. i get annoyed when people forget that I am in the RP as well!

OOC-and for ioksok a just want to get my character into story and this seemed to be a good moment

IC: A young human was speaking with a dragon, that much Asmana could see. But what they were talking about was a mystery. It all seemed so urgent, the massacre, the war, dragons appearing. Still gripping her grey sword, Asmana stepped out from behind the man. "I can heal that leg for you, if you'd like." she said quietly.

Then, to the dragon, Greetings, Mighty One. I must say I am surprised to find you here, in the Empire. While I am a Shade, I bear you no ill will. However, my temper has been known to turn. I trust I will be able to keep good relations with you. As for the being at your side, however, I can promise nothing. Asmana released a chilly breath. Aloud she began to speak.

"This is dangerous territory. If the Slaves of Cruel Will were to find you here, either of you, death would not be far behind. The Urgals' bodies, and those of this village, are enough evidence of that." Memories of the mighty Kull warriors returned to Asmana. The Bull's body lay in pieces, behind him his mate and young's eyes still held terror as they rolled back, vacant, into their useless lids. The female had died of a magic-induced heart attack, the young had four arrows in his chest. There were more, Kull and lesser Urgals, all about their homeland. And now this. An entire village, killed by weapons of Urgal make. Something was not right here.

A shade! Kariana hissed in surprise rather than hostility. She glanced around them in case there were others, but saw nothing. Finally setting her eyes on the newcomer, she asked warily
You work for Galbatorix? She looked to her side to see ioksok nearly paralysed with fear. A breeze blew through the town, making eerie noises as it engulfed the houses. She shuffled in her place as she waited for the girl to reply. Knowing that only the most evil spirits seek to possess people worried her a little, as she wondered what this shade was capable of.

No. Although the king employs my services from time to time. He is a fool. Asmana grimaced. Summoning water from a skin, she washed her crimson hair and let it fall loose over her shoulders. She sheathed her Claymore over her back. The king has asked numerous times for my permanent residence in his service, and each time, refusing him becomes more dangerous. He is a vile, but often misunderstood, man. Shruiken is enough evidence of that, the poor creature.

"You!" Asmana barked at Ioksok. "Stop whimpering, or whatever it is you're doing, standing there, and say something. Do you require healing or not?"

"Not from you" Ioksok said as coldly as he could. He use the spear as a crutch and tried to hobble away, but was stopped cold by the shade's stare. "Maybe I could use a little healing." he admitted, looking at his leg. It was jutting out at a weird way. He built up his nerve and asked "What is your name, Shade?". Hoping if he was attacked the dragon would help him.

Finally Eagan gain control of his body. He was able to see a dragon and two humanoids but there was something strange with woman. It was more than sure that dragon couldn't smell him because of dead bodies and other two persons were discussing so they didn't care about things around them. Guy with dragon didn't seems to be all right-that was good for Eagan so he thought: I will be able to survive fight with some girl and dragon if they'll be a problems. Side by side there are many places where I can hide...

He stood up because he didn't want to surprise them with silence coming-scared person can do a mistake...

With his sword in hand he said: "What's happening here?" He was far away from them so he will have enough time to run in some house if they'll be aggressive.

Kariana snapped her head around, searching for whoever she heard talking. Her deep sparkling eyes surveyed the landscape, until she found someone on the other side of the dusty street. She narrowed her eyes warily, and hissed.
There is somebody over there. She interrupted. She turned to face him, nearly knocking Ioksok over as she moved.
Who are you? She asked roughly, but not hurtfully.

“I am Asmana. And if you continue to allow your preconceived notions about Shades and myself rule your emotions and your actions, I shall simply leave. I cannot help what I am. However, I have never taken sides in this pitiful war, so you have no reason to fear me, yet.” Asmana’s voice shook with hidden anger. It was always the same. Humans, elves, dwarves, and now dragons, they all shied away from her, because of what she was.

She stepped over the body of a young man and examined Ioksok. “Waíse heill,” she whispered, her hand hovering an inch or so away from his leg. She then took a splint and strong cotton cloth from her pack and began to bind the leg. “There,” she sighed. “Unless you run head on into a stampede, you should heal fine.”

Secretly, she thought, what am I doing here? These people cannot possibly comprehend or appreciate what I am. I should keep moving, away from all beings. Her fury had returned, but if these helpless humans, and a living legend, a dragon, died by this new foe’s hand, it would be on her conscience. And Anki, Spirit of Fate, would never let her forget it.

All at once, Asmana heard and felt a new presence near them. She took out a knife and hurled it, where it lay embedded in the wall, a centimeter away from the intruder’s face. “Identify yourself,” she said, with a dangerous softness in her voice.

Kariana looked towards the stranger puzzled. She didn't really notice what was going on around her, as she rolled what she had learnt around her mind. She was a little confused.
A shade! She thought to herself. She had always avoided these magic users on her travels, and had certainly never spoken with one. The stranger flinched as the dagger hit the wall, and turned a little pale.
Kariana replied to Asmana (keeping her eyes fixed on the new stranger)
I meant no offence. I am usually a solitary kind of dragon, and do not speak to many people. She explained, with a hint of sorrow in her voice.
I have only ever had contact with Shades who mean my race harm, and have certainly never spoken with one. I hope you will accept my apology. She said, dipping her head in a little bow. She then stood and waited for the stranger across the street to answer to Asmana.

"Good throw but you probably didn't notify that if I want to kill you will already have a knife in your back!" He didn't think about how stupid was saying something he had said he was just angry because of nice welcoming.
He wasn't thinking about drawing one of his knives and preparing it to throw back. After a few seconds when he stood with dagger in left hand and with sword in right hand he said: "I don't want to cause any threat..."

Ioksok mumbled "Thank you" he limed to his house and enterd. Once inside he looked around moved shelfs, "I found it" he said to himself. He walked out and suluted the shade "My life is my honor," Ioksok said "What can i do to help you". Out of the corrner of his eye he saw the stranger trying to pull the knife out of the wall.

Kariana walked quietly towards the stranger.
So.. she addressed him.
Who are you? She asked warily. She bent down so her giant amethyst eyes was level with his.
What are you doing here, and what makes you think you could defeat a shade, wild dragon and human all on your own? She asked curling her upper lip in a slight smile.
Can you use magic? She questioned.
Because if not, it seems to me that a human boy like you should be more careful with what he says. Not to be rude of course... She straightened up and looked down at him.

"Mind communication? I have heard about it but I'm not sure in one thing: You know about everything I think?" Eagan hid his dagger but his sword still stay between him and dragon. "My name is Eagan Carth. What is shade? She looks like human only her hairs have unusual color."

IC- Kariana glanced back as Asmara. She was watching them with her piercing gaze. She explained.
Don't worry. Although I am talking to you with my mind, I do not know your thoughts. I do not enjoy invading people's privacy. Kariana assured him.
Asmana is a shade, but means no harm. Again she looked at the boy. She wondered about him, perhaps he had lived here as well?
I wish to know something- what is your name, and why are you here? She asked again.
When you answer me, maybe then I will allow you to know more about us. She offered.
With Ioksok and Asmana's permission of course. She added carefully.

"Like I said my name is Eagan Carth. I was just looking for some food and found this." He point to massacred bodies.
"If I didn't find you I'll try to find butchers who had done such horrible thing." Still he didn't took his sword back to the sheat but he wasn't expecting fight at least not with those three.

Kariana looked at him with pity.
Hmmm, She mumbled. Sorrow showed in her eyes.
It looks like urgal work. She explained.
As I have said, I was indeed tracking them, attempting to prevent them from doing more damage, but it seems like I was too late. She bowed her head miserably.
I can only carry on now, they have already gained too much of a lead on me. Kariana explained.
I want to prevent them from reaching any more villages or town's in their path, but I am not yet sure how. It looks like 60 to 100 passed through here, I may be a dragon, but I can't defeat that many monsters alone! She explained.

Ioksok looked around "Do you know where the urgals went?" he asked any one that was litsing. Ioksok sheathed his sword and grabbed the urgal spear. "Lets go hunting." He suggested with a smile.

"Agreed." Asmana grinned. The massacre in this village was too big to ignore. Whether it was from the king or not, retribution was needed. She pushed a stray lock of hair off her face. "This needs to be payed for." she sais, gesturing around at the carcasses. "Ioksok, who, or what, might have been after your village, and why?" Confusion and curiosity surged through Asmana. This chase would not end happily, but at leat it would provide excitement.

Ioksok looked around "I don't know why they attcked my village" He said then it hit him "There was a traveler, he left just before the urgals attacked", he walked over to the shade "I didn't see his face, he had his hood pulled down."

Ioksok, Asmana, Kariana, and Ergan departed what was left of the village the next day at dawn.
The urgals were not hard to track, there prints and signs of there passings were every whare. After two days of tracking, the companians found the urgal's camp. "What do we do now?" Ioksok asked looking around.
There is know way the four of us could kill all of the urgals he thought to him self.

Asmana was disheartened. Since setting out from the village, evidence of the Urgals had been everywhere. She had not expected them to be out it the open. Mud caked her cloak and boots, and Her hair and face needed a desperate washing. Asmana had been traveling for quite some time, before seeing the massacre, and now she just felt fatigued, in mind, body and soul. Walking along the rugged terrain, she took the timepiece from her pocket. According to the shadows of the day, they had been walking for five hours, since they had set out early that morning. Leaping down from a hill in front of Kariana and the others, she said, grinningly, “Who’d like some lunch?”

"Me" said Ioksok as he got up from the rock he was resting on, "Whats for food?" he asked walking over to Asmana. While they ate Ioksok asked "What are we going to do about the urgals?" he asked before he stuffed a larg peice of bread into his mouth.

Erais had been walking around trying to find the Urgals. She knew that they had destroyed that village because she had been there, with her hood up.
Well they won't get me dead or alive. But I will get them. Dead. She thought to herself.
She was regreting ever going near that town.

Kariana kept low, so as to avoid being seen from the urgals' camp. She eyed her surroundings carefully. She sensed something, but she knew it was not the urgals. She didn't bother mentioning it to the others, but asked instead
Well, we're here. You're right, we may be powerful, but there are simply too many urgals here. What do we do now? It would be pointless to turn back now and ignore them after we have been following for so long! She pointed out. Absent mindedly, she clawed the ground, as she did when deep in thought. Her claws left deep gashes on the floor.
We either need more help, an entire army perhaps, or some misfortune to befall the urgals. She suggested.

Erais then looked to the opposite of camp. She could see a mound of something, and three other figures waiting.
Well if they are with them, then they are dead. Erais thought to herself.
She then started towards the camp, she hid in the shadows. She started to kill a few with magic.
"You'll pay for what you did." She muttered under her breath.

Then she sensed it much more strongly. Kariana snapped her her towards the urgal camp.
Magic! She panicked, Searching the camp with her huge amethyst eyes.
Someone in there can use magic! She explained in a frantic tone. She hopped about nervously.
I could sense it before, but I thought nothing of it! Kariana explained. She snaked her head forwards to get a slightly closer look.
If someone there can use magic, then we are definitely in trouble! It could be another shade, or an elf, or even a rider! She pointed out hurriedly.
Well whoever it is, this is bad news if they are with the urgals!

Erais then killed four more. She then backed away, the Urgals then started to panic.
Good, Erais thought. Now, I hope they are allies.
She then headed to where Kariana, Ioksok, Egan, and Asmana were. She headed towards them through the shadows.
Oh, they better be allies. Erais thought as she grew closer.

Wearing black clothes has one big advantage-it's nearly impossible to see you in shadow. Eagan knows is it well and he liked to use it. He could see dead Urgals falling on the ground and he could sense something different. Like always his sixth sense didn’t failure him and he was standing with his blade on her back very quickly.
After a few seconds he said: "What do we have here?"

Erais quickly pulled her hood to cover her place completely.
"None of your buisness." She said.
She made her voice different. She didn't want anyone to reconize it, if they were with the empire. She turned around to face him. The sword blade was still at her throat.

"Hold what are you doing?" yelled Ioksok after he killed a urgal he saw Ergon holding his sword to a girls throat. "you shouldn't do that" he said as he used his sword to knock Ergons aside, "Ma'am" Ioksok said as he bowed "May i ask what you are doing here?"

Erais kept her hood up.
"That is my buisness, and mine alone." She replied.
Erias then moved a little towards the left. She kept looking sideways.
Hmm. Can I trust them or not. She thought to herself.
She then pointed to Eagan.
"What is your name?" She asked.

"He is Ergon, and my name is Ioksok" Ioksok said to the mystery girl, "Who are you?" he asked agian as he tried to look through the darkness of her hooded cloak.

"I don't think I can trust that to you yet with that." She said.
She then shifted her feet. She then looked at them. She then asked them,
"Why are you here?"

"My village was destroyed by them" said Ioksok as he pointed in the genral direction of hte urgal's camp. "Why are you here?" He asked as he shethed his sword.

"Ye and you should tell her names of your parrents place where you siblings live a¨nd ask her for autograph! And my name is Eagan." Eagan was very angry on ioksok. This pathetic mad human-creature obviously wanted to kill them all because he never heard about secrets...
"What do you want and who are you?! I advice you to speak quickly!"

Erais gave a luagh.
"One my name is Erais, there are wanted pictures everywhere for me. Two, it was my falt your village was destroyed. I am sorry." Erais lowered her head. "You couldn't defeat me even if you tried."
Erias then took her hood off.

Kariana exchanged glances with Asmana. It seemed that there was a lot of hostility in the air today.
How can you have caused the village to be destroyed? She asked, looking across towards the urgal camp. It seemed they were restless, or troubled as urgals ran back and forth, weapons in hands.
It looks like you caused quite a bit of trouble at the urgal camp! She pointed out.
I don't think we should let them see us! Kariana crouched even lower, however, she knew it was hard for her to hide!

Because I took something from them. Erais told Kariana. Good. They will be searching around camp soon. We should move.
Erais then told this to everybody else out loud.

Asmana gazed in wonder at the girl. Should we trust her? She asked Kariana, what could she have taken from the Urgals that would make them destroy an entire village, and who knows how many others?

Asmana stepped forward and took off her hooded cape, the only way to make herself look somewhat presentable. She was a sight, with dirt all over her grey camise and her black boots stiff with blood. Her hair had come free of its tail and now fell in a crimson cloud upon her shoulders. Her violet eyes were bloodshot with fatigue, giving her a demon-like appearance. She extended one pale, arched hand to the newcomer.

"My name is Asmana. While I have alligance to none but the spirits, I have chosen to aid this group and avenge that village. I respect your privacy and secrecy, but be warned. I am in constant contact with the spirit realm, and, soon, I shall be informed of your identity. If I learn you mean harm to any of us, especially Kariana, I will be forced to kill you." Asmana gestured to her grey and purple Claymore sword and grinned broadly, revealing her pale white fangs.

"So, care to tell us who you are before that?"

Ioksok shot a look Asmana and said "She will not be a problem," then looked at Erias "You were the one the urgals wanted wern't you." Ioksok stomed away he picked up his spear and threw it into a tree. He picked up he cloak and walked of into the night "I will kill them all" he said aloud.

OOC: Your welcome. I had to go when I did that post.

IC: "Yes I am." Erais directed this to Ioksok. "I will trust my past with you Asmana, but no one else."
Erais then gave the memories she knew to Asmana.
I will not hurt you. I to have a dragon and wouldn't hurt her for the world. Erais told Kariana.
She then went over to Ioksok.
"I am sorry, I didn't want them to destroy your home." Erais said.

Ioksok looked Erias up and down he knew she was telling the truth but he hardly listend as he stalked into the night. Ioksok walked, until his legs started aching. He found a place to sit down, and he wept for, his people who were now dead. Ioksok swore harshly and drew his sword. He walked in the dirction of the urgal camp silent as death.

Kariana sighed. She looked into the darkness where Ioksok had headed.
I hope he doesn't do anything stupid. She said. Sitting down.
He could get himself killed out there, with all the urgals running around at the moment. She looked at the others, a little concerned. Slowly, she got up on her feet and stretched.
I will look for him, just to make sure he's safe. She suggested.
Nothing can get me from the air if I fly high enough, and I have sharp eyesight anyway. She assured, then spread her wings and sprung off the ground, driving her wings down to lift her huge body into the pitch black night sky.

"He shouldn't do that. He could die doing this alone." Erais said to everyone.
Erador, come now. Don't be seen though. Erais told Erador.
Then the trees moved. Erador came out.
"Everyone, this is Erador, my dragon." Erais said as she held up her palm.

Asmana’s head filled with a flood of choppy memories, most of them about Erais’s adolescence. As she held up her gedwey, Asmana stared. More dragons existed! This was more than she had ever dared to hope.

“Welcome. I trust you’ll help us and travel with us. Here, you look tired, come have some of our food.” Asmana held up a soft roll to Erais. After seeing, first hand, the girl’s tale, Asmana was consumed with pity for her. Asmana continued to eat her lunch, and then said, “So, what’s our plan of action?”

Ioksok killed every thing he saw throwing himself at all the urgals that crossed his path, "Come out and fight" Ioksok said in a huanting tone. He walked down a path and was jumped by a urgal. The urgal thrust his spear at Ioksok side, who promply doged it and cut the head of the spear off, the urgal fell before his fury. Then Ioksok noticed a arrow sticking out of his calf. He pushed the head through to the other side and brok it off, then pulled out the shaft, he almost fainted but he held strong.

"Sure. Erador and I would be happy to." Erais said.
Erador gave a puff of smoke to show she was glad to.
"Thanks." Erais said.
She ate it grateful.
"Well I guess since their are enough of us to fight them. What do you think?" Erais asked.

Kariana scanned the ground far below. She knew nothing could see her as it was so dark. Suddenly, a noise filled her head. Urgals were fighting.
Oh no! She thought grimly.
It must be Ioksok. She reasoned that they wouldn't fight a dead man, so Ioksok was still alive and fighting. Slowly and silently, she circled to the ground, and spotted a group. Ioksok was in the middle, thrusting at urgals with his sword like a maniac. She roared savagely, hoping to distract the urgals, and give Ioksok a chance to escape.

"Yes," Asmana replied. "But there's still the matter of finding the Urgals." Asmana struck her Claymore into the ground and leaned against it, lost in thought.

Kariana, what do you advise? Asmana asked, before she interupted by-

"ASMANA!!!" A young woman ran into their small camp, her gold-red hair streaming behind her, her amber-green eyes wide. "Where have you been?"

"Yane!" Asmana gasped in surprise. "On a quest obviously," she answered. To everyone, she added, "May I introduce Yane, the Grinning Maiden, also known as Rin the Werecat?"

Kariana sensed something different back with Asmana, Erias and Erador, but she was too occupied with the urgals to investigate. She looked around desperately. Using her mind, she told Asmana of their plight.
Asmana! Erias! Erador, someone, help! She cried.
Ioksok's gone mental! He's attacking the whole urgal camp himself! I can't stop him, or the urgals! She panicked.
He's going to get himself killed! I need HELP! She shouted frustrated, through the mental link.

“Kariana!” Asmana cried, “Yane, Erais, Erador, let’s go!” Ripping her sword out of the ground, Asmana began running towards Kariana, not even bothering to look back to see if Erais followed. After what seemed like an entirety, she found Ioksok slaying Urgals mercilessly.

Kariana! Asmana cried desperately. Quickly swinging her sword, she sliced an Urgal in half. Desperately she fought through the crowd to get to the purple dragon. Finally, she screamed, “Brisingr!”

A giant purple flame came forth from Asmana’s sword as she swung, flying towards all in the camp. Friend and foe.

Ioksok felt a pain in his shoulder as the urgal's spear bit into his flesh, He yelled a battle cry and jumped into the middel of the urgal camp killing as he went. "I will kill you all" Ioksok yelled loudly, as he split the skull of a urgal with his sword. Ioksok felt more pain but this time in his leg, he growled, and fought harder.

Kariana slashed at the urgals with her claws, biting them in two with her sharpened teeth, and growling angrily as the blood lust boiled inside her. She couldn't get Ioksok out of there. If she could reach him, she could fly him away, but he would not stop. She knew that the only way to keep everyone alive was to kill the surrounding urgals. It was a mighty task, but one she believed they could achieve if everyone put in total effort. Arrows and spears glanced harmlessly off her hard scales, and she made sure to keep her wings folded safely next to her body. However, Ioksok was wounded in several places, and Kariana could she he was rapidly deteriorating. It was only his anger that gave him the strength to keep fighting.

Ioksok saw Kainana "Go away he growled." killing a urgal, he picked up a torch and threw it at a tent the thin material cought fire easly, and spread quickly. "Now i shall die in a blaze of glory" Ioksok said laughing at he iorny. He killed many for urgals before an arrow thuded home in his chesst, his anger kept him up and fighting.

Asmana’s flame slashed through the camp, wiping out about ¼ of the Urgals. Asmana continued to fight through, finally finding Ioksok in a fury of Urgals. He was about to burn out, but his fury sustained him. The Urgals suddenly made a pathway to Ioksok for Asmana. Confused but relieved, Asmana hoisted Ioksok up and swung the much larger man over her shoulder. “Kariana,” Asmana yelled, “Where are you? Can you reach me?” She repeated the message through a mental link. Ioksok may have struggled, but Asmana’s numb body could feel none of it. Her Shade strength protected her from all mortal’s usual pain.

Erais and Erador charged.
"Haaa. You'll pay for what you did." Erais yelled.
Erador breathed fire.
"You guys leave. We will take care of them." Erais yelled.
They left leaving Erais and Erador. Erais was getting horrible blows all over. She wasn't going to give up.
Erador lets fight to the end. Erais said.
Erador nodded. They charged with there last strength. They finished them off. Erais fell over.

Ioksok got away from the shade "I will kill you all" he yelled as he ran back to what was left of the urgal's camp, he stopped dead in his tracks. Ioksok looked around and saw erias laying on the ground he drew his sword and walked to her, "It's you fault" he said over and over, but he could not kill her.

Somethng red stole his eye, he looked around. A giant ruby was siting in a pudle of blood, it look like it was glowing. Ioksok scooped it up and put it in his pack be for any one could see him.

After a while Erais sat up. She breathed heavy. Erador was sitting by her.
You okay. Erais asked.
Erador flinched.
I will be fine, your to exausted to heal me. Erador replied.
Erais got up and tried to heal her. Erador wouldn't let her.
Come on, lets go find the others. Erais said.

Kariana padded over.
Are you ok? She asked Erias and Erador. She looked at them both with concern, but still a little angrily.
Why did you tell us to leave? She demanded.
We could have helped! You were nearly killed, what were you thinking? She hissed. She then looked around for Ioksok, then grunted, not wanting to talk to him. Kariana decided that if he didn't appreciate her help, then he might as well be left alone.

Eagan came out of shadows and he was applauding. "Bravo you nearly kill them all." He came very close to ioksok and pushed him. "Why do you done this?!?" Eagan turned on Erais and said "And why did you help him?"
He couldn't understand things that happened around him. Some guy became mad and all the people immediately started to help him. Person with right mind won't let him kill only because one fool. Eagan could imagine reactions of his new "friends" but there was at least one thing he wanted to tell them.
"Lets regroup, others will be trembled for ioksok's safety." Eagan looked cold at ioksok and started to move.

"Well, you would have died. I am a lot stronger then you might think. We will be fine." Erais said.
She then had to hold onto one of Eradors spikes. She steadied her self.
"Well I helped him becuase it's my fault his home was destroyed. If I hadn't he would have died." Erais said.
She was so frustrated at their behavoir.

"I needed no help" Ioksok said, he stagged and nearly fell from the lose of blood, He was getting light headed, and went to sit down. "I could have killed them all" he said quietly. looking there are two dragons a reneged shade, i could go to the king and get alot of money he thought to himself, looking around at the companions.

"Erais!" Asmana cried, leaning over the girl. "Do you or Erador require healing?" As she waited for the fatiged girl to answer, Asmana turned on Ioksok.

"Next time I let you go, don't do anything stupid! Yes, I let you go. Do you think you can match the strength of a Shade? You are foolish, even for a mortal!" Asmana screamed. She turned her icy stare on him and glared. "You could have gotten Kariana and Erais killed, you fool!"

Asmana paused only when she recived a mental message from the Spirits. She placed one pale hand on her temple, and her temper flared once more. Using one hand, she pinned Ioksok by the neck against a wall. She took one of her daggers from her belt and held it against his jugular.

"What makes you think you can transport Kariana, Erador, and myself all the way to the king?" She demanded, her voice a dangerous, whispery caress. "You are nothing but a weak mortal, and now you shall pay the price."

"Oh! Ioksok you probably won't be the most favourite party member" said Eagan. He was absolutely cold.
"I don't think you want to kill him." Ranger continued in his speech like there wasn't mad girl with dagger near throat of some foolish boy. "But I wonder why you think he want to give you and your friends to the king!"
Only one think was clear here-situation wasn't under control. Eagan didn't know anything about shades and this fact was making him confused. That woman wanted to kill guy whose live just saved.

"I-I did nothing." Ioksok gasped as the shade held him by his throat, How did she know what I was thinking He thought to him self. Ioksok tried to pulled away, but she held fast.

Still grasping Ioksok by the throat, Asmana proceded to say, "Even if you were to, by some miracle, get me to Galbatorix, you would find no money or honor in the feat. My alligance has never been for or against the king, so you're wasting you're time, you waste of flesh," Asmana spat, enjoying the look in his eyes as she ran the blade of her dagger over the air just above his neck.

Asmana hurled Ioksok to the ground and turned to Kariana, Erais and Erador. She sent a mental link to all three. This so called companion of ours was about to give us up to Galbatorix. I think its time we reaccess our friendship with him.

Ioksok looked at the shade and spat on the ground, he walked into the woods leaving the companions to themselves. "How did she know what I was thinking?" he asked himself. He was sitting on a moss coved rock with his face in his hands. Ioksok heard a squeak he looked up, then heard it again. Ioksok sat back down unconcerned. He reached into his bag for some food and a burst of pain went through his left arm. Once he could feel his arm again, he opened his bag to see a dragon's angular head looking up at him.

"You are mine now" Ioksok said as he looked down at his new pride and joy. He looked at his hand there was a odd shaped scar. The Dragon hobbled around its bright ruby scales shining in the sun, "Now with your help Little one we can kill that shade." he said to the small dragon, who looked at him with intelligent eyes.

Kariana stood rigidly, looking at the place where ioksok had once more disappeared to. She was surprised at the lack of anger inside her. Cautiously, she reached into her emotions, and found no fury, but instead an overwhelming disappointment. Kariana was usually solitary, and had never really been around people before. The only friend she had ever had was also a wild dragon, killed by Galbatorix. Knowing that she didn't normally have contact with others, she was not surprised that she didn't understand Ioksok's behaviour, however, it seemed that nobody else truly understood either. She had struggled to save him, even when he had not been the friendliest person in the world, and he had rejected her help (though he would have died) and even thought about turning her in to Galbatorix! Suddenly, as she had expected, the disappointment was replaced with a red hot anger boiling in the pit of her stomach.

Erais and Erador lowered their heads.
"He shouldn't have done that. He probably knew we would find out." Erais said.
She was more said then mad.
"Even if he wanted to try and get me there, theirs no way I would let him. He has a reward for me, so it would be different if he had brought you guys along." Erais told them.
She wasn't mad at all, she was dissapointed.

Asmana rubbed her temples again, as her head was smarting, as a cut was wont to do. She reached into her pack and took out a crystal-bottled elixir. Drinking but two drops, she leaned next to her sword again. “What just happened?” She finally blurted out, unable to stand the silence.

She gripped the garnet pendant that hung from her neck tightly, gaining strength from its heat and power. Asmana tied her hair back into its customary crimson tail and waited. The sun was setting, casting an orange-red glow on the carnage and destruction around them.

A tear slid down Asmana’s face. Why? She thought. Why do they all fear me, hate me? Unbeknownst to Asmana, her original self, Asmaani, was feeling the hurt and pain the Shade should have felt.

Erais put her hand on Asmana's shoulder.
"I know how you feel, I have been an outcast eversince I escaped. I know your pain." Erais said.
She could feel the hurt Asmana was feeling. She liked Asmana, she was kind. Unlike the other shades she had encountered.
"If you ever need our help, you just need to reach out for us." Erais said.
Erador was looking at Asmana with sad eyes. She liked Asmana also. Who could think that she could do evil things. She didn't give off any evil, but goodness.

Kariana tried to relax. She desperately struggled to free herself from the rage that engulfed her. This silent battle raged inside her, until she achieved calmness, and tried to forget about Ioksok.
Ioksok doesn't deserve our help. She assured.
If he gets himself killed out there, then that is his choice! She growled, brushing away any thoughts about him.
We should start moving, Ioksok's up to no good. I don't believe he can personally cause us harm, but if he alerts the king to our presence, then Erias, Erador and I will surely be hunted down. She pointed out in a disturbed tone.

Asmana wiped the meaningless tears from her eyes, and stood. Sending a mental link to Erais, Erador, and Kariana, she said, Its time we get out of here. Who knows when the Urgals may return? But, first, let’s kill that foolish mortal.

Asmana’s thoughts were full of bitter rage and betrayal, and a blood lust that awakened within her every time she smelt new blood. “I want to kill that traitor!” she screamed.

"Hey! Calm down," said Eagan. "It will be better if we will keep silence." Those people were going somewhere and he didn't where. Eagan traveled alone for very long time and now he had a chance to find some friends or allies.
"May I join you in your journey?"

Kariana almost laughed.
I don't even know where were going yet! She exclaimed, then added:
But with everyone's permission, yes, you can come. She then turned to Asmana, and sighed.
I understand how you feel. She said.
Just a moment ago, I was so angry with Ioksok, I also wanted to kill him, but then I overcame my blood lust. She explained.
We should just leave him, he will probably kill himself in some stupid deed anyway. Plus, he's really not worth the effort. She reasoned, trying to keep Asmana calm, yet pitying her feelings at the same time.

"Ok if we want to live, we'll go out of here as fast as possible. And Urgals are the last thing I'm worried about right now. The boy was very angry when he was leaving but maybe he isn't so stupid to try kill us all on his own. Very close from here is an empire outpost and it won't be good to meet all soldiers from here." Eagan looked around. Two dragons one dragon rider and a shade-what could he expect from them?

Asmana glanced at Erais. “What do you think?” she asked. “If no one has objections, I suppose I would go along with you all.” Asmana was tired, but still several times stronger than a human. Against a Dragon, however, but she wouldn’t even think of that now. Kariana and Erador would never hurt her, and Erais had become a good friend. All three of them had. Asmana laughed to herself. Asmana, Slave of the Spirits, had friends! It was laughable, really. Asmana began to laugh aloud, uncontrollably.
