maybe brom knew about the vault of souls and then brom knew that he would need to open it
so maybe the words are suppose to help him open it

possible but it would have had to have been Eragons true name becuase solumbum said to speak your name to open the vault of souls.

how do u think he fids his true name. maybe he has the same true name as eragon the firsts

that would make sense seeing as they both found dragon eggs. they both kept and raised the eggs in secret. and they have the same common name.

i thought about that but then how would he know that because he isn't an elf and humans had to go on quests or talk to an elf to find out their true names.

maybe he found it on one of his own quests.

Perhaps they form a spell of rejuvenation, to aid Eragon when he’s weak from battle. Or they could be a very powerful death spell, to kill Galbatorix and numerous others. It may even be a spell to raise the dead while drawing on various stores of strength. It could be a spell to free Shruikan from Galbatorix’s evil grasp . . . The third one is the least likely, as it would probably kill him.

or maybe like i might have said before it restores his energy and brings back someone from the dead.

You arwe thinking words that are too powerful. Brom knows Eragon, and considering how reckless he is sometimes, I don't think Brom would tell him powerful things. It was probably how to transform things into water, things like that. Eragon was prob using them, in the Hadarac, where he almost killed himself.

I believe he said the seven words then he told Eragon what they meant. I agree with the poster that said that CP has been leaving small hints here and there for us to go nuts. Once the 3rd book comes out I bet I won't be the only one saying:

I've lost count of the times I've been through the books and I haven't been able to find anything that may suggest what those seven words are supposed to be. It's like I mentioned once, CP wrote that part and never even mentioned it again. I mean, what's up with something like that? I just can't seem to figure it out!!!

Yep, I was chatting with the girls about this. This is one of the things which are bound to happen when the author is alive and has not finished a series. We, the reader, get to be part of the hype, web-site crop up, friendships are made.. There are more pluses to this than minuses. I guess one of the minuses is as you say, "go crazy."

yea i know what you mean. that happens all the time in action shows. I have also loked up all I can, it says nothing in the glossary or the book about the words brom told Eragon. I don't have the delux edition, so it may but there, but i wouldn't know

Vanilla you will not find anything in the books because other than Brom wispering the seven words, giving him the meaning and telling him to use them only in great need, there is nothing else, anywhere. We must all wait for book 3 to find out.

Yeah, so based on what Durzakiller mentioned they are probably different words. He said use THEM only in a time of great need. So they are probably advanced spells, or rare words.

well u never know but he said he told him 7 words in the AL and THERE meanings.. so he mostlikley told him 7 diff. words instead of a sentance but i get what ur saying about being more powerful but i dont think that these's are a sentence.. but they could have nothing to do with each other so they couldnt be a sentence.. and if it was a sentence brom told eragon he would have said and brom told him a sentence in the AL and what IT ment..
