Post Re: Doctor Who
I'mma say that I loved (Loved!) the bit with Rory and the Silents. He was an idiot at that part, yes, but a brave idiot. I love how even when he's not really sure who Amy is, he's still determined to protect her. Then, of course, while everybody else is all falling all over the place and keeling over because of the eyepatches, Rory's only just barely twitching until right at the very very end. And the Silents acknowledged the fact that he's died a bunch of times. Does this mean Moffat will stop it with that now? Because, honestly, if he keeps turning Rory into Kenny, it's going to stop being funny and get even more ridiculous. There'd seriously better be an actual plotline that involves him dying so much, otherwise...*Grumbles* But still! Rory is one bad dude! I want one! *Beat*

I was surprised that the season finale was actually good, but...it really was! Moffat finally got the train rolling right again, so I'm hoping that the next season will keep it up and bring Doctor Who back to being Doctor Who instead of The Doctor Amy and River show.

Doctor Who is my joint favourite show! It's just so awsome, and the doctor is amazing and a genius. The scriptwriting is really intelligent too, but I think since Tennant left its gone slightly downhill :o

Gah! Not another Smith-hater, lol! I've seen nearly all of the Tennant and Smith episodes, I don't see how y'all can say one is better than the other. The only big difference I see is the companions and that Smith's Doctor is darker than David Tennant's.

To each his or her own, methinks. The two have drastically different personalities, and you have to admit that Smith's episodes are insanely different than Ten's were. The entire style has changed. Given the personality differences, one is bound to appeal to certain people more than the other does, and the other way around. That, and one's first Doctor does tend to be their favourite.

Matt's Doctor doesn't seem darker than Ten to me, actually. He just seems more violent. He's everything that the Doctor shouldn't be, and I reserve the right to dislike him for it. He jumps straight to the worst in people rather than looking for what's good. Like they said in "Good man goes to war" he's a warrior, not a healer.

But seriously, it's not a sin to prefer one Doctor over another

I'm not a hater I just think Tennant and Ecclestone were better, probably coz they are better actors though. I still enjoy Smith however and all the wierd doctor quirks he brings!

Lol, easy Curf, I was just teasin :-P

And if Smith's Doctor is more violent than Tennant's, remember he's building on what Tennant's Doctor was like towards the end of that regeneration. :)

Lol, he probably would have been my favorite even if he hadn't been my first Doctor. He's just so cooky. XD

@Glenwing: "Bowties are cool." :wink:

Maybe so, but they're also more experienced actors to. :)

True they are more experienced, and I think for a show of such a high calibre then the cast should reflect that. However he has done better in his role than I had imagined he might, still enjoying it and cant wait for the Christmas episode! :D But you have to love Tennants era, he had such cool stuff going down, Torchwood, canary warf, the master and daleks! Also I prefer the writers for the older episodes, I feel this doctor's plot has been fairly uninspired and less captivating than their predessecors.

Might not completely like the new logo that they have been using, but who wouldn't like the new version of the theme that they have been using. It probably portraits at the same time the turn that the series has taken.

Has for the smith and tennant debate, each new doctor needs to have something different. If that wasn't the case then their would be no risk associated to the regeration. The series might have taken a different turn, but they have been building on many different point and suspense over the last two series. It should be interesting to know the reason for the cracking of time and the explosion of the tardis, but I have the feeling that it has to do now with the doctor preventing events from happenning the way they were meant to.

Eh, I've accepted the fact that Ten's gone and not coming back...but I still will never like Amy Williams or Eleven. They just don't do it for me. Rory, however...he's the only reason I watch it. It's not that I'm insulting those who do like Amy/River/Eleven/TheNewPeople, not by any means. Just sort of think that we're allowed to hate one Doctor and love another ^:^

One thing though, that isn't helping Eleven...I actually have a cousin who looks creepily like him, and acts like him too, only without the good intentions that the Doctor still has...*Shivers*

But yeah, the Christmas Special should probably be good. I just hope they don't try to force the issue too much, like they did with some of their more recent episodes.

Such as the thing with the robot...it felt like a last minute throw-in, although it was rather impressive, they should've brought it in much earlier in the season to have it be just a bit less out of left field. Also Mels was annoying...very annoying.

But hey, as long as they pick up their feet, it'll be awesome. Just want a bit more action with purpose rather than flatout action and "Look how epic Amy Williams is" stuff XD

*Agrees with Glenwing* Seemed a bit like they were doing things for the sake of doing them...although this year with the Narnia parody it should be pretty awesome, so long as Doctor isn't Aslan or, heaven forbid, Lucy. *Snort of laughter* Because in the trailer there were only three children, as far as I saw, so it's not quite apparent who the Doctor will be replacing yet. Should be good for a laugh if nothing else though.

Wish they'd bring back Stormageddon...he was actually pretty nice, even if his character was just a baby. I's miss him ^:^

Post Re: Doctor Who
Saph, I love you forever for posting that ^_^ It made my day XD

Has anyone heard about what Moffat said about Amy and Rory? He said they'll be back this series, but they have a "Heartbreaking end". What does this mean? I mean, knowing him, it could just be "heartbreaking" because Karen's leaving, but still! Maybe one or both of them will die! O.O

Also; David Tennant got married yesterday. Bang.

Anyway, back to actual Who News;

Something I noticed; In The Eleventh Hour, there's a part where Amy *I think* asks the Doctor what he's been up to. He replies "Staying out of trouble. Badly." which is the exact same thing that Rory says in "The Big Bang" when they meet back up with the Doctor. Rory wasn't around when Eleven said he'd been staying out of trouble, badly, so...what's up with that? O.O

I'm getting worried about Rory. And Amy *I've decided to tolerate her because she makes Rory happy somehow* and what's going to happen to them. Because there's still the rumour of a nasty fight between the two of them, and there's basically a lot of plotlines still left open with those two, so I'm on pins and needles wondering what's up.

Also, I missed the Christmas Special because we no longer have the BBC chanel, so if there's earth-shattering information that was divulged in the episode...I've got no idea...XD

HAPPY WHO-YEAR! ^_^

By the way...has anyone heard of Trock? Timelord Rock, that is? There's a band called the Chamelion Circuit *Spelled that soooo wrong* who sings about Doctor Who, and they're awesome.

Well not to spoil it for you, but the christmas special stood by itself. I don't see it have a real impact just like last year's on the overall series. Watch it when you have the time, but when the new series comes out there should not be any loose ends from the special.

Ooh, really? *Squeals* That's fantastic! Yay! Now we get to learn about their horribld end sooner!

Apparently my Paw-Paw is brilliant. For Christmas, he managed to get the entire fifth season of Doctor Who off the internet for free *he won't tell us how he did it because it adds to his Special Points* so now I can get as many screenshots of Rory as there are shots of him in the show ^_^

Also got a plushie-bear and named it Rory...but that's not entirely Who-related...

Does anyone know if they're starting back with actual episodes right away, or was the Christmas Special just a prelude to a long break before more episodes?

The video isn't loading for me, but I agree about the hat. The bit that's within range looks brilliant! ^_^

I've just realised that I have an abandoned Doctor Who fanfic that needs updating...something about Ten not regenerating and having a new companion. Slightly cliche'd, but oh well...I can probably find something snazzy to do with it. *Calls up her Prince of Persia muse*

Heyyy, Saph! You ever written any Doctor Who fanfiction? You'd probably be able to do some really good ones, being that you like Eleven and Amy so well ^_^

A friend of mine and I are teaming up to do this one story in which Eleven sort of Crashlands in the Fires of Pompeii episode, with Rory and Amy. This is bad because, not only is it creating a paradox (And a pair o' docs XD) but Rory and Amy get seperated and Rory meets the seuthsayer played by Karen Gilan and the Centurion starts to wake up, so it's mass confusion, especially when Rory, still sort of dizzy in his identity crisis, gets in the wrong TARDIS, aka, Ten's TARDIS. In the beginning, Eleven keeps acting like he's forgotten something/trying to remember, then it turns out that it's because he has a new memory of meeting Rory as Ten XD

Read any of the books, then? There are several really good ones, like Dead of Winter and Hunter's Moon, along with several graphic novels and audio dramas. All really well done and everything. ^_^

Apparently, due to some sort of mercy, the rumour about a Doctor Who film that has nothing to do with any of the series, turned out to really be just a rumour. Fortunate, that. ^_^

Yeah, I was reading about that the other day. :) And it's not strictly just a rumor yet, it's just no one's talking openly about it, so people don't know whether it's true or false. For the time being, or until someone says different, everyone is going with false.

@Curf: Mmm, I'll have to check that out. My source was an interview with the new director/producer (can't remember which) chick that page posted a link to. Anyways, Moffat is indeed more reliable. :)

@Fin: Gah! Lucky! I've seen all of Ten's eps, but for the special where he regenerated. Everytime I try to watch it online, my comp flips out about halfway through. One of these days I'll get around to renting that season. :)

@Imp: I can kinda see where you could say that, but I've always been a fan of Narnia, so I guess that's why I liked it so much. :)

That's fantastic! *Hugs* Welcome to the massive world of Whovian-ness! ^_^

Sonic screwdrivers....eep! Sonics are so cool! Didn't know there was a 'build-your-own' floating about! That's a very particular brand of awesome!

Does anyone know when the series is coming back? I don't know if they said yet, but I've forgotten, in any case
.

Whoa. As in, once this series is over, he's doing another one? They seriously love him that much? He's got to regenerate at some point! Especially if Amy and Rory are leaving. He'd have to have a super-fantastic companion to make up for that...

Only in production at the moment. Season 7 of the reboot from 2005. This was the season matt is confirmed to do all of. So another year until we see the 'fall of the eleventh'. I wonder how The Doctor will remain inconspicuous... I mean he is a madman with a big blue box that goes VWROMP-VWROMP.

I didn't make myself clear. When did the last season start airing? June? Can't remember when it started last year, but there's a good chance that the new season would start at about the same time.

Oh, good...so you weren't saying he's signed on for a season eight as well? *Sigh of relief* There comes a time when Doctors have to leave. Although I'm finally starting to get used to him, a bit. Dislike him a little less, anyways. Kind of wondering now if Amy's going to do anything to make me like her a little more. The characters are starting to do surprising things, so it's kind of sad that it's now that they'll be going away ^_^

Really looking forward to season seven, though. If it's as good as the beginning of season six was, it shall be utterly fantastic.

Well I really like this version of the doctor. He seems to have something that the last two from the 2005 series did not have. The only negative point that I have is that we lost all the companions from the two previous doctors. I know that there was a scene where he said goodbye in is own way to all of them.

If Amy and Rory disappear at one point from the series it is quite likely that this will be the end of the current doctor.

I know it's been confirmed that Karen Gillan at least is leaving the show, she said as much at whatever TV awards show it was that Britain just had. I don't know about Arthur Darvill though, although I assume if Amy leaves, Rory goes with her. The whole matrimony thing at work there. :)

Yeah, looking at the 2005/2006 series, they're both different, but not drastically different in any way besides the Doctor's personality. But then when you compare David Tennant's series to Matt Smith's series, it's almost like watching a whole different show, because not only has the Doctor changed, but it's like the whole theme of the show has changed.

That would be so very very weird, if Amy left but Rory didn't. In fact, that would be so utterly mind-blowing, it would take until the Doctor regenerates to get used to it.

Not that I'd mind more Rory-time. I already want to adopt him... <.<

Since it's been two months since the last post, I feel like I can safely double post.

You guys have to watch this video. It's hilarious.

And I can vouch for the content not being against content guidelines. The video is amazing; these people made it look like a Doctor Who SNES game, except it's not a game, it's just this awesome animation they did. Seriously, check it out.

I don't know if you guys have ventured into the world of Tumblr, but there is some pretty sweet pictures and theories.

Which is why I really want to share this, it's so mind blowing and there are a few things to back it up. In "Let's Kill Hitler", he's there when Melz regenerates into River, may not seem like much, but it may have triggered something, because not long later when they are leaning against the desk, in shock, he says "I'm getting this sort've banging in my head" which Amy dismisses as Hitler in the closet, though nothing is heard.
Even later, in "The God Complex" the only person whose room is not found is his and when the Doctor opens his door he seems slightly surprised, a bit baffled, but then it clicks in and he says "of course. Who else?" Though the Doctor does not act weird at all towards him for the rest of the episode/series, the Doctor may realize that he may not know who he is, his memories suppressed somehow...
It would also explain River a bit better than just the fact that she was conceived in the time vortex thing.

My mind is blown by it anyways, I don't know if it's likely, but we shall find out later this year I guess.

I think that we discussed that theory a couple pages back though right after Let's Kill Hitler came out... not sure though. It's been buzzing around Tumblr a lot lately though! That picture's appeared on my dash quite a few times in the last couple days!

Lol, it's alright Keever, this is a really cool thing you found and it makes me think this should be discussed some more. :) Whoever put that together must have a good eye for detail or something, because I never noticed they looked so much alike. What about you guys? :)

I can't remember everything said, but did anyone else have any clues about Rory maybe being The Master? I remember the drumming and now there's that picture, but what else did we find?

Well he might have been a little drunk from is bachelor's party. The last iteration of the master was stuck due to the tardis to a specific period of time. It would be unlikely that the doctor would not recognise him.

Post Re: Doctor Who
e+a, my Tumblr if you're interested. Not my original one, most of my followers on my original are people I know in real life, so it has a bunch of personal stuff on it, but I made one so that internet friends can get the edited version of my life :)

As for Rory as the Master, I don't remember all the other details that people pointed out, but I have seen the one about him not being surprised about the TARDIS. I need to go back and watch that episode again, cause I don't remember it at all (actually, I should just go back and watch the entire last 2 seasons again haha)

I've seen a bunch of people who are like "Aaaahhh! No, not Rory!!" but for me, I totally endorse this. I'm a big fan of Rory, and I'm a fan of the Master as well (more episodes that I need to go back and watch!), and we all already know Rory is a badass, as is the Master (in a more literal sense) and while it would be a tiny bit sad to see him be a bad guy, I think it would give him that much more interesting.

Also, with how many times he's died and come back its kinda like he is the Master and just keeps regenerating, without the face change!

Lol, when you put it that way, it makes me think the writers *coughMoffatcough* are doing it on purpose, instead of turning him into Kenny. :)

Oh, I completely agree with the idea of Rory being the Master as well! I think it would be a brilliant plot twist! Plus.... it seems like the kind of thing Moffat would do...

Ok, so some people here probably hated the finale, but I loved it. Moffat actually made me cry.

Without saying too much... Oh forget it. Consider this your Spoiler Warning.

I've noticed a lot of people online complaining that the ending was botched, because why couldn't the Doctor just go back again in the TARDIS to rescue them one more time. They gave us that answer right before Rory got zapped again. The Doctor said that one more paradox in New York might very well blast it off the map, or destroy the planet. (He said both of those things, can't remember which order, but one is bound to be right.)

So. The ending was not botched, people just didn't pay close enough attention or chose to ignore it from wishful thinking.

Another thing. The Statue of Liberty as a Weeping Angel is just too creepy to think about, considering I already hate Weeping Angels. (I've never been able to look at a graveyard the same way since I saw Blink, the two parter in 11's first season, and now this... *shakes head*)

In other news... On the brief glimpse of the Christmas Special, was that the Doctor's new companion in the fluffy green hat? Does this mean she's gonna be from like the 20's? 'Cause that's how she was dressed, if it was her.
