Name: Dedread (more commonly known as Dread)

Skills: Swordsmanship and Magic: He is deadly with both swordsmanship and magic, being a Shade. He is fluent with the Ancient Language, but he likes swordsmanship a little more. He relies more on physical strength than subtlety in a fight, however.

Fire: He is very skilled with fire, and understands the element to the point to where he can control it at will without having to speak the Ancient Language. He can create a barrier of fire around him, and he can morph fire into forms, such as fireballs, streams, etc.

Shapeshifting: This ability of his is still incomplete. Transformation is a delicate process, so despite his hundreds of years of practice, his transformation ability is limited by his concentration, though. He can easily transform into a bird, rabbit, or other smaller animal. Transforming into an elf or human takes much more concentration, but it's not difficult for him. Through advanced training, he can transform individual body parts, but it takes a large amount of concentration because he is transforming into something he hasn't come into contact with before. So he could transform his hands into dragon claws, his feet into a dragon's feet, and even wings, but wings take more energy because he is extending energy to make form the wings. However, he can transform body parts without actually having to go into his Control ability(further down). He has transformed into a dragon once, but that was after he went through his Control ability.The bigger the being he transforms into, the more energy it uses. A bird uses very little energy, but a dragon used a lot of energy.

Manipulation: Dedread was, ever since he began training with Judin, great with manipulation. He is highly perceptive, which allows him to understand the people he talks to and knows thoroughly. He can also sense a person's fears and desires, but he can't do so in combat because be leaves his mind open.

Control: When he's in a dangerous battle situation and even his current skills aren't enough to defeat his enemy, he settles into a more powerful state. His concentration heightens, his magical skill becomes more powerful, he relies on both skill and physical strength in his swordfighting, his fire becomes much more powerful and takes a black color, and his shapeshifting becomes
easier because of his heightened concentration. However, after the battle is over, he is extremely drained of energy, and usually has to sleep for an entire day to regain his energy.

Hair: He has black spiky hair, and parts of his hair are streaked with white.

Eyes: His eyes are white, with a design that looks like the Rinnegan(off of Naruto).

Home Village: Osilon

Parents: Father's name is Dathedr, mother's name is Hyverta.

Siblings: None

History: Dedread's life was surrounded by accidents. He was a perfect boy. He never spoke unless spoken to, and he did great in everything he tried. He was a good student at school(are there schools in Alagaesia?) and he was polite to everyone. However, accidents occurred everywhere he was. At school, students around him got injured weekly. No one knew why, but
they always had a burn mark that spelt "Dread" on their arm. Soon, his parents grew suspicious of their seemingly perfect son. One day, they confronted him and asked whether or not he was behind all of these attacks. He, with no guilt or hesitation, replied that it was he. His parents were appalled, and left to seek professional help. That night, when his parents were asleep, Dedread burned the house down with his fire. The word "Dread" was marked on his parent's arms, but their bodies were scorched so badly that the word was unreadable. Dedread then left Osilon, and began his traveling at the age of fourteen.

His first stop was Ellesmera. There he found a teacher by the name of Judin. Judin was strong and easy to manipulate; a perfect choice for his teacher. Judin taught Dedread many things about magic and swordsmanship. It was under Judin's tutelage that Dedread had learned to transform. He had been studying the animals in Du Weldenvarden's forest, and ge had
concentrated greatly on a bird and what it's living habit was. Through that, he had accidently transform into a bird, which had used a large amount of energy then.

He had trained under Judin for two years, when Dedread had told Judin that he was ready to achieve greater strength. Judin had obliged, and he trained Dedread in basic sorcery. Several nights later, Dedread overheard Judin speaking to another elf, "...He's just a boy, Judin. He's not ready for sorcery . You know as well as I do the potential consequences for training sorcery," the other elf had said.

"You don't know him like I do, Marvin. This boy is mature enough to learn sorcery. Besides, I just can't say no to him for some reason..." Judin replied.

Marvin stared at Judin, disgusted, "If that boy summons a spirit powerful enough, he could easily be taken over. Then he'll be a Shade; a being of power!" Marvin hesitated, "If he became a Shade, he would need to be hunted down," but Dedread didn't hear that last part. He had already been walking off, planning on how he would summon a spirit.

The next day, Dedread had become a Shade. He had been hunted down, like Marvin said, by
the elves of Ellesmera. He had slaughtered two of them, and fled Ellesmera. He trained by himself on small animals, and one time even trained on a Fanghur. However, his atrocities in Ellesmera were not forgotten. At age 24, an elven rider by the name of Desden found him. Desden was a powerful Rider, and he and Dedread were evenly matched, but the dragon gave Desden a large advantage, and they restrained Dedread. A dragon... Dedread had thought. He broke out of the magical bindings Desden had placed on him and quickly restrained Desden. Through extreme concentration, Dedread had transformed into a dragon and held his own with the Rider's dragon. However, he couldn't win, so he fled the battle. He stopped at a cave several miles later and fell unconcious for two days. Ever since this battle, he had trained constantly, preparing himself for any attack. He woke up, and many years passed of him hiding time after
time. At age 401, Dedread had began to feel alone. He knew he was unlikely to ever even come into contact with a dragon egg, so he enchanted an eagle, giving it the ability to speak mentally, which gave it a much higher intelligence. Now, the eagle is his companion, whom Dedread named Duleria, or just Du.

Dedread has helped Demondread take over western Alagaesia, and is now preparing to lay complete assault, and help Demondread in his quest to take over the world.

Personality: Dedread is calculating, conniving, mischievous, and devious. When it comes to planning, he has a great patience, but in an actual fight, his patience is lowered. He only does something if it benefits either him or Du. However, he was evil since he was born. He enjoys causing pain, and is ruthless. He is of the opinion that all Shades are superior to every other race, including Dragons. Despite this belief, he is quite level-headed, and is calm in dangerous situations. When in a dangerous situation and his skills aren't sufficient enough to defeat the enemy, Dedread goes into a state in which his skills are amplified and he makes full use of his power. He becomes completely calm and in-tune with his environment in this state. Du is the only being he cares for currently, and Dedread would protect Du wholeheartedly. Du is the only thing keeping Dedread from becoming pure evil, but even so, Dedread cares little if any for
his anyone and anything else. Dedread practices his skills daily on any animal he can find. After hundreds of years, the elves have stopped searching for Dedread, and they are convinced that he died in the Golden Age, and even if they knew he was alive, he doubted they would search for him with Galbatorix around. Dedread doesn't even care for Galbatorix. He respects Galbatorix for his power, but if he had the chance, he would kill Galbatorix and take over Alagaesia, and eventually, the world.

Weapons: He has a black sword with a red gem on it. It's a Rider's sword, smithed to him by Rhunon. It wasn't easy to manipulate her to smith him a sword, however, not easy at all. She has a very strong will, so Dedread had to befriend her and visit her daily to convince her to smith him a rider sword. Near the end of the blade is a red engraving that says "Dread." he also has daggers hidden in his sleeves.
Likes: Du, fire, his dream of conquering the world.

Dislikes: Anyone except for Du who isn't a Shade or at least doesn't have a lot of power.

Fears/Weaknesses: He isn't really scared of anything.

Animal Companion: Du

Physical Description: Dedread stands at 5'7, and has spiky black hair with white trimmings, and white eyes with lines that make them look like the Rinnegan. He is quite muscular, but not exceedingly muscular to the point where his arms are huge; he's just very toned and physically
fit. He wears a black and white cloak with a collar and gray pants. He also has a black scarf. He has a pouch at his left hip that holds another couple of daggers, and his black sword is sheathed at his opposite hip.

Dreams: To rule the world.

Reasons for Dreams: It puts him in a high position of power, and makes him more feared.

Alignment/Side: Demondread's.

Ok I'm probably missing some lines in places so just let me know if I am. It's my first single character, so I'm not used to the requirements for a single character yet, and I have typed this all on my iPod two different times.
