Maryssa strode down the road with Kyrian beside her in Tiger form, as they walked, her hand came up to rest on his back. Maryssa's subconscious had guided her hand, without her even knowing it. Is something the matter Maryssa? Kyrian asked telepathically. Maryssa stopped and sighed, without looking at him.

"It's been what? Nineteen years since we met? And how much closer are we to finding Alexyon?" Maryssa asked rhetorically, glancing at Kyrian.
"We are no closer to finding him then we were back then. Not one piece of information. I'm beginning to wonder if it isn't all one big goose chase."

You can't give up Maryssa. Just because we haven't found out anything yet, it doesn't mean that we won't at some point. Beside you promised your mother, didn't you? Kyrian knew he had to keep her searching, he felt their luck, where Alexyon was concerned, was about to change.

"Don't you think I'd remember what promises I did or didn't make?" Maryssa asked angrily, her eyes turning black briefly and she sighed.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you." It's alright Maryssa. If you want to give up the search, it's your choice. I just have a feeling that our luck in the search is about to change.
"You do? I do want to keep searching. I just don't feel that there is any point, but if you feel we'll get lucky, we'll carry on searching." That's my girl, Kyrian thought, smiling on the inside.

OOC: word of advice. Ioksok already tried to do this, and it didn't work. So, I'm afraid I have to tell you that the RPG coordinators will probably tell you to shut this down, because these characters are not accepted.

Faefnir remained in the bush, stalking the two mates who were extremely unusual in the world of Alagaesia. He, of course, knew of their quest, but it would only end up in heartbreak for them and potential danger for his beloved home. Somewhere, Rimfax was there and undoubtedly making a plot to manipulate the girl and destroy him, thereby taking Stronghold and its massive power stores. He saw in his vision that they were getting close to Rimfax's ambush point. He crouched down and leaped into the clearing, soaring above the heads of the pair and landing in front of them, about 5 feet away... a microscopic distance to one as big as Faefnir was. He roared loudly, his golden scales shimmering in the moonlight. STOP! YOU'LL GO NO FURTHER!

Maryssa jumped back, startled, as she never seen a dragon before. Kyrian stood his ground and growled. What is the meaning of this unprovoked hold up? Speak up. Kyrian telepathically asked the dragon, also allowing Maryssa to hear.

Maryssa was curious as to the dragon's appearance, but also to Kyrian's reaction. Why did he not ask in a more civilized way? Maryssa thought to herself, before stepping up beside Kyrian.
"I am sorry for my friend's gruff tone and uncivilized question. Although I would like to know why you have stopped us from going on." Maryssa said, being more friendly then Kyrian had. Kyrian stirred to protest, but Maryssa stopped him with an 'Don't even think about it' look.
"Let the dragon speak." she said simply.

"A dragon of pure darkness huh?" Maryssa asked laughingly, but Kyrian bristled beside, giving her pause.
I think he is right Maryssa. I smell something more evil then anything we've ever come across. Kyrian said telepthically, including the dragon in his part of the conversation. Maybe I should resume human form, at least for now. Maryssa whipped her head round to look at Kyrian, concern, fear and excitement were all evident in her eyes.
"No, you and me both, know that you are stronger in your animal form." She turned back to the dragon, and looked into it's eyes.
"would you be able to show us a way of getting past, Rimfax, the creature you spoke of." Her eyes had turned black, as she tried, to use her powers, to persuade the dragon to help them.

Maryssa discreetly sniffed the air, and knew Kyrian was doing the same. He smells human, but not. It's like were but also not. I've never come across someone who smelled this way before. Kyrian said telepathically to just Maryssa, who frowned in answer.

"Who are you? Better yet, what are you?" Maryssa asked the newcomer, watching him warily. Kyrian brushed against her legs comfortingly.

"Hmm, so you were planning to help us anyway? Why didn't you say so earlier?" Maryssa asked warily, still unsure of the dragon. Kyrian felt Maryssa's uneasiness and decided to speak up. Maryssa and i, we haven't got much help, since we started looking for her half-brother, Alexyon. That was nineteen years ago. Maryssa whipped her head round to look at him, hardly able to believe he had told the dragon so much.

Maryssa frowned at the newcomer. A rider indeed, she thought to herself.
"Well, that's not exactly the kind of what, I was looking for. And to answer your questions, my name is Maryssa and I am half human, half vampire, if you must know." Maryssa gestured to Kyrian, who turned his head towards the newcomer.
"This is my friend Kyrian, who is a were-tiger." Then she winced, remembering that Kyrian didn't like that phrase.
"Sorry for using that phrase Kyrian, but it was the best way."
I know Maryssa. It's ok. Kyrian replied, also letting the newcomer hear.

OOC: Pass. I can't think of a reply.

"Well, you don't smell like a normal human, and Kyrian here says you smell like a were but not a normal were either." Maryssa shrugs and walks closer to the golden dragon.
"You were saying about helping us past Rimfax. Please, tell us more about your plan" she sat on a log as Kyrian walked over to her, then once she was seated, dropped his head in her lap,

Oh, where we go is entirely up to them, young Rider. Faefnir gestured toward the were-tiger and half-vampire. And I suggest you draw your sword and get ready for battle. An old friend of both of ours is approaching.

Rimfax chuckled at Reik's feeble attempts to force him out. No. Now attack them! Then Rimfax set loose upon Reik his power stores, causing unbearable pain to course through his body. With this, Rimfax forced Reik to charge the group.

Danger! Kyrian almost shouted in her mind, just before Reik charged out of the woods. Kyrian growled low in his throat and dashed towards Riek.
Maryssa immediately became angry as Reik burst out of the woods, and her eyes turned black as her vampire powers became fully in her control. She ran at Reik beside Kyrian, both pounce at the same moment.

Kyrian's teeth dug into Reik's side, while Maryssa caught hold of his neck in her hands. Maryssa caught his gaze with hers, and let her power of hypnosis come to the fore.
"Release him and back off Kyrian" she told the were-tiger, her voice sounding more seductive and pure. Maryssa could feel the other's presence in his mind.
Concentrating on that presence, she pushed at it, building a mental wall in Reik's mind as she did so. It was hard work though, and her strength started to drain fast.
"All of you lend me some power, the presence in his mind is stronger then I anticipated. Please or I'll pass out, and you'll lose my powers while i'm unconscious."

Kyrian had started sending Maryssa power as soon as the first words passed her lips. He could sense how tiring the battle of wills was on her and knew how valuable her powers were.

OOC. I hope i managed to do that without GMing anyone.

Maryssa silently said thanks to the Faefnir, while Reik now just semi-conscious, she laid him on the ground. Kyrian walked up to her and rubbed his head against her leg. You did a good job Maryssa. Now we can only watch, as that black dragon is too big for us to fight.
Maryssa reachd down and patted his head, closing her eyes, when she opened then again, they were normal.

Maryssa went over to Mesaraih, Kyrian followed, watching Mesaraih for any signs of trouble.
"What brought you to this place?" Maryssa asked, conversationally. Kyrian sat beside her, resting his head on her lap.
Maryssa stroked Kyrian's head, while waiting for an answer.
