Daidrea stiffened, he felt like he was going to cry again but he held it back. "Dammit.." He was becoming slightly hysterical.
"All I did was get in the way between you and Mesaraih. You were already happy. I was so selfish that I didnt think. I just.." he trailed off. He put his head down looking towards the ground.
"I just dont know what to do anymore. I feel so lost and confused." Daidrea wiped his eyes. His chest hurt more than ever.

Mesaraih watched quietly as Daidrea went inside Arden's wing with Erais. He felt himself lose all warmth. His body no longer gave off any heat, and with pain he realized that he had lost... again. Despite the wetness of the floor, Mesaraih laid down on the ground, not caring about anything or anyone, just wondering what would happen now. He didn't realize how confident he had been, but now that he did, it hurt more than ever. There's not much I can do, he thought. He looked up at the dark sky, not even blinking when the rain hit his eyes. He would stay with her, but it would probably be best if she didn't know he was there. He would leave her eyes tomorrow, but never her life.

"Don't say that!" She said scoldingly. "You've had a lot to deal with. Do not just bury yourself further in the ground. Stop being so hard on yourself." Erais said a bit mad at his attitude during the current moment. She didn't want him like this, it hurt her to see him so deep in pain. "You need to knock it off, you are only hurting yourself more. So stop doing this to yourself and be more optomistic. What's done is done. You can't change it, so stop acting like you can. All you can do is live right now, not in the past and not in the future, just now." Her voice was a little bit hard, but her face soon softened.

"You've been through a lot, we all have. Just try and sort through your own feelings and thoughts. You need to let this go." She said softly. Erais felt tired once again and felt her eyes start to close, knowing that they were fairly safe with the pouring rain as a protection, she let herself fall into a rather deep sleep.

Mesaraih tried going to sleep, but he couldn't. It was not because of the rain, but he was far too pained to be able to rest in any kind of way. He felt that his heart had been ripped apart, then poorly stuck together again, only a shadow of what it had once been. Looking at the gloomy landscape did not help lighten his mood, it only dampened it even more. Why did I have to become so hopeful again if I was still going to lose? Mesaraih thought. He had actually had to fall one more time to lose it all, and it hadn't mattered how hard he had tried. Everything had been ripped from him in such a sudden way that he doubted he would ever be able to get over the loss. If his life was already so miserable, then what was the point in trying to receive any comfort? He would warm himself only to prevent himself from freezing, and eat only to prevent starvation. He would wait patiently, coldly for death to come, but at least he would always still have a purpose, something to fight for. He would always be able to oppose Galbatorix, and he would always protect Erais, even if she did not know it.

Daidrea knew she was right, but he couldnt help it. He calmed down after a while. He turned to talk to her again but she fell asleep. He thought about what she said. Instead of sleeping, Daidrea meditated all night, reflecting the past, his emotions, this thoughts, and he began to think about the future. He went over so much and was able to regain energy since his eyes were closed and did not move. Although he was mentally tired, his body felt much better.

When Daidrea opened his eyes dawn already came. He moved away Ardens wing. He walked out and stretched. I think its time to regain my own strength he thought. Trying not to wake the others Daidrea began to do some exercises that Oromis had taught him. Using his energy both phiscally and mentally trying to rebuild his power.

After he was done, he went out to get food and water for them and himself. He returned an hour later and placed what he gathered next to Arden and the others.

Unsure on what he wanted to do next, he went back a short distance and began to meditate again out in the open trying to calm himself better. He quickly looked over his shoulder towards the others. I will protect them..I will protect Erais.
I am not weak..

Erais and Arden's dreams melted to each other, it was a really strange combination and finally Erais woke up. Stretching she moved out from underneath Arden's wing. That was truly the strangest dream I have ever had. Erais shook her head, trying to clear her head of the dream. Looking over to Arden who was still asleep, she finally realized it. She smiled, shaking her head slightly at him.

She finally looked around and everything was soaked through. Though she loved the smell after a long rainstorm. Also, how everything looked fresh, clean, and almost like new. She closed her eyes, just relaxing in the current moment. It felt so nice right now. At least it did until everything flooded back. She groaned slightly, and didn't open her eyes, afraid of what she might see. So for the moment she kept her eyes closed.

Mesaraih did not realize when he had fallen asleep, but when he woke up he saw that Daidrea was outside, meditating. He didn't want to interrupt him, but he went over to him and said, "Take good care of Erais Daidrea. I might not always be able to be there in time..." With that he strode away. He was soaking wet, and he thought he might have gotten sick, but he did not care. He did not turn around to see Daidrea's reaction, he just continued walking away, unsure where to situate himself.

Daidrea opened his eyes, he looked towards where he saw Mearaih. He looked at him with concern. Seemed that Mesaraih wanted to move away for a bit to think. Confused on what was going on, Daidrea replied to Mesaraih in his mind. Why should I have to worry? You are going to be by her side Mesaraih, you always will. If you are running away, it's not the answer...I think you would remember that you told me that.

Listen, even though I may have feelings for Erais and she does for me, she still does for you. And she wants to be with you, I've seen it from the start. I was selfish to get in the way and I apologize for that. Dont think of me as an enemy.
It's going to be painful to stand aside but..Erais chose you first.

Daidrea exited his mind and continued meditating facing away from Mesaraih. He thought about himself and Erais. How I am I going to deal with pain..
He contiplainted to himself for some time.

Erais opened her eyes finally, it was a childish thing to do, but she didn't want to face reality. Looking around she saw Daidrea a little ways away meditating, and Mesaraih was leaving. Inside she felt a small glimmer of hope shatter. Why is he leaving? Why didn't he talk to me? She thought hurt. What had gone on that made him walk away? ... Looking over at Daidrea she realized the error in her mistakes. Since the whole ordeal with Aerdiad, she hadn't exactly paid any attention to Mesaraih. As far as she knew, she hadn't even looked at him.

She felt the guilt to start building up. She wasn't sure if she should run after him, or let him be. It had been his choice. But why didn't he talk to me about it?! She thought upset as he was walking away. Why didn't he just come and ask me? Why is he letting his stupid pride and jealousy get in the way? Once again her troubled thoughts drifted into Arden's mind and it woke him. Go talk to him your self...let me sleep. He said grumpily and shifted his position, falling back into a deep sleep.

Mesaraih faltered for a moment, then continued walking. I'm not running away. I'm just leaving you to her. When you left, she had not decided anything, but now she has. So what I'm doing is only to let her be happy, he told Daidrea. He continued to walk away. He should have probably told Erais herself, but what was the point in that? She had made her choice pretty obvious, and it would only be more painful if he talked to her.

Erais opened her mouth, wanting to scream for him to stop. She wanted to know what in the world had got into his mind; but her mouth was sealed shut. She could only watch him walk away with wide eyes. More than anything she felt like she had been slapped in the face and betrayed. Slowly she could feel angry tears burn her eyes, he hadn't done anything but walk away. He left without saying anything! She yelled at herself. She couldn't help but start to feel bitter towards him.

Annoyed, Daidrea got up. Less than a minute later, he got in front of Mesaraih with his speed. He punched him across the face, knocking him over. "Idiot! You think this is going to make her happy?" He picked him up by his clothing. "Have you learned nothing of what just happened?" Daidrea glared at him eye to eye. His eyes quickly changed to black.
Realizing what was happening, Daidrea put him down. He calmed down and his eyes reverted to as they were. "If this is what your going to choose, fine, just remember what it's going to cause."

Daidrea walked away from him and sat back down to try to bring his anger down.

Mesaraih continued to walk away, realizing with every step that Daidrea was right, he was just running away. Why am I being so stupid? How could I be doing this? I'm supposed to be brave, but I don't have enough courage to stay with Erais just because it will cause me pain? Mesaraih thought disgusted at himself. He started to walk back, feeling embarrassed, but that was something that he couldn't let hold him back. His embarrasment had caused him to stop doing a lot of things too. He realized that when it came to emotions, he was far too weak and scared. He didn't even look at the ground as he walked back. He needed to perfect that stupid pride that caused him to be so stupid at times. If he really loved Erais, he wouldn't just leave her like this. He started to walk faster. When he finally got there, he saw Erais was already woken up. He felt like just turning away from her out of embarrasment, but despite the reddening of his face he had to learn to control his feelings. He faced her as straightly as he could and said,"I'm sorry for thinking about leaving Erais. It was a stupid mistake, and I realize now that I've always let you down when it comes down to these things, but I want to promise you that it will never happen again." He felt good after saying that, as well as a lot lighter.

*EDIT* OOC: you posted that before me, so now one of us should edit one of our posts...

Erais was sitting against Ardens exposed belly. She was glaring at her hands, the tears were at the brim. She couldn't really help it, she was rather mad at Mesaraih and felt bitter towards him. She didn't bother paying attention when he came back, he talked to her. Erais didn't respond, she was to upset with him. So she just sat there, not willing to look up at him. What he said was sweet, but he had already made one promise and broke it. So what made him think he could just make another one?

"How can I trust you with that when you carelessly break a different one?" She asked him bitterly. Her eyes trained on her hands, she wasn't in the best mood and she felt betrayed by him.

Daidrea was getting irritated but he calmed himself. He entered Erais' mind. Erais, I know it can be hard but dont forget what you said to me. What's past is past. Do not blame Mesaraih for what he did. He felt ignored and secluded, as I did.
Show him the same concern as you did for me or he will be lost as I was.

Daidrea left her mind feeling tired all of a sudden. He tried to relax and recooperate.

Mesaraih had expected this kind of answer, but it hurt him nonetheless. "You don't have to trust me, but this time I am going to keep it. That's all I can say, and if you don't beleive me then there's nothing I can do about it. Unless you want me to leave now," Mesaraih said. There wasn't really anything else he could do now, so he just sat down and waited for an answer, even though he knew it might not come.

Erais couldn't help but listen to Daidrea. He was right and she knew it, but Mesaraih had lost her trust for now. "Then don't promise me anything. I can't know if you'll keep it or not, and you can't keep something that could change in the future. Just try to live it up right now...I don't want to get my hopes up for something in the future." She said as calmly as she could. After that she fell quiet, not really wanting to speak anymore as feelings of betrayal, hurt, and bitterness washed through her. Finally she looked up towards him, her eyes expressing more than her mouth would. "I don't want you making me anymore promises." Her voice was strained slightly, and after a few minutes she shut her eyes, feeling slightly tired.

Daidrea was thinking over what just occured. Why did my eyes change? I did not envoke that other form or let Aerdiad take over, infact I havent felt him at all?
Daidrea felt tired he strangely just fell over. Then he found himself in a lush open field. He saw Erais not far from him. She was walking towards him and when she was next to him. She was leaning towards his face, she was getting closer. Is she trying to?

Daidrea woke up. His face was red. Was his mind playing tricks on him? It felt so real..he never..

Dammit..dammit! He punched the ground as he stood up.
He looked behind him, Erais and Mesaraih were still talking. If I cant be with Erais...will I ever..
Daidrea laid back looking at the sky thinking. I cant even get close to her like that..
Whats going to happen to me?

He put his hand to his mouth, then he abruptly put it away. How is this going to end?
He sighed, Well, I'll just wait until they are done then we could probably head on he thought.

"Then don't. That way you'll just be surprised," Mesaraih said. Then he sat down on the floor, wondering what to do next. That was not very important to him, though. What mattered to him right now was keeping his promise. This time he knew he had really meant it and that nothing could stop him from keeping it. He had a newfound courage for this kind of stuff.

Erais sat quiet, the warmth from the sun felt good on her face. So much had happened in such little time that she almost couldn't believe it. Arden finally decided to wake up. How are you feeling? He asked in concern. Strained, and almost weak. She replied. So many things had gone out of focus that she didn't know what she wanted to do or what was going to happen. I'm just not sure what to do now. I still want to work towards over throwing Galbatorix, but I'm not sure what will happen before we're strong enough for that. Erais had thought about possibilities, but none of them seemed to be much of a reality.

Sometimes she just wished she was someone else. Someone who led a small life and didn't have such weights put on her shoulders; but she knew that that would never happen and she had to fight for all those who couldn't for themselves. "What should we do now?" Erais finally asked Daidrea and Mesaraih. She needed to have something to do, but what? Her life was just so tangled right now.

Erais.. can you come over for a moment...I need to talk to you.

He quickly exited before she could reply. He stiffened. Well, Ive taken the first step..I cant go back now.

"Erais.." he was hesitant to say more be he tried, "What should I do? I keep thinking about it but I cant come up with an answer. I...do love you.." he paused from actually saying it for the first time, "but, knowing I cant actually be with you just hurts too much. But I also feel bad that if I leave to avoid pain, that I think about you anyway and that you might be in danger because I'm not there." He stopped for a moment to think. "I thought about returning home to resume my normal life, but it's a lone path to walk, however if I stay here I'm not alone but it causes me pain for the situation we are in."

"What am I supposed.." he trailed off. He looked into the distance as he waited on what she wanted to say.

Erais listened to him, she was pretty sure she knew exactly what he meant. She gave a small sad smile, she didn't know what she could say to help him. She wasn't sure herself about some of what he said. "Daidrea," she paused, trying to think of something that would help him. "I don't know, I really don't know. I've just been so confused, and I'm not the kind of person who gets confused; but everything has just happened in such a strange way that I can't help it. I don't know what to do either." She admitted, wanting to say something that would help him, anything.

"I think that you need to search inside yourself for what to do. Don't let me cloud your judgement. Emotions are what make us human, but sometimes they seem more like a hinderance than a blessing. Right now you need to put them aside and see what it is you really want to do. I don't know how the future will unfold, but maybe it will work for us one day...or not. I don't know, we just need to be patient and work with what we know right now." Erais said, not sure where this was going, but it sounded like the right thing to be said. "I can't tell you what to do, I can only advise you to think about what it is you truly want to do. Not what you think it may be."

Daidrea listened quietly to what Erais had to say. She was right, he was letting his emotions consume to much of him. He had to put them aside..for now.
He closed his eyes and sat for a long time. His body relaxed and his face became stern. He began to look like when he once was before his envolvement. He felt much better and calmer than before. He constantly thought of Erais as just a comrade for now in his mind. It made him think more clearly. He got up and stretched.
After an hour of clearing his mind and restoring his body. He walked over to Erais and Mesaraih unwavered.

"So, have we decided on what to do next?" He sounded normal and the way elves normally act covering their other feelings.

Erais went back over to Mesaraih, to let Daidrea think. She hoped she hadn't said anything to upset him, that probably wouldn't have ended good. Sitting back down she watched the clouds for a while, wondering herself what she should do. She looked at him startled, surprised at how his voice had turned, but she decided it would probably be best. "No idea, I can't really think of much to do...I don't know..." Erais said, trying to think of something...well more training could always be done.

Mesaraih watched Erais speak with Daidrea carefully. He found that if he thought about it all as a normal situation, it was rather easy to not get jealous. He smiled to himself. This could end up being easier than he thought. He sat back on the hard floor, looking happily up at the sky. When Daidrea asked what they should do, Mesaraih didn't really have an answer. There was kind of a lot of things that they could do at the moment, so all he said was, "I don't really care. I'm ready for just about anything right now." He was surprised at how normal and controlled his voice sounded. It felt like he was beginning a new life again, and that even though there were a lot of choice to take, he knew that whichever one he did take would start a new adventure that he was determined to complete.

Daidrea thought for a moment. He turned to Erais. "Do you feel a need to train more with Oromis or do you think it is enough? If you think you had enough we could maybe go support the Varden for a while. Beyond that I cant think of much more we can do. I dont think it would be a good idea though to go take on the empire by ourselves, it would be rather reckless."

"Says the elf who decided to cut Galbatorix's head off..." Erais mumbled with slight sarcasm. "I don't know, from what I think I know...Arden and I need to work more with each other. We have a strong bond, but we aren't very good at working together. We could still help the Varden, but I think it might be best to go back to Oromis." Erais said after a minute of thought. Arden rumbled in agreement. They weren't the best team, and everyone always had room for improvement.

Daidrea couldnt help but laugh a little. But then he remembered why he did it, he became silent with a sad face. He quickly recovered though.
"Alright, back to Du Weldenvarden then."

He was suddenly slightly feeling uneasy but he tried to calm himself. This is not the time to think about the past he thought. Whats done is done. I need to protect Erais now more than ever..even if it means putting aside my feelings for now.

"Yes, back." She said quietly. Arden got to his feet, shaking off the water that had lodged inbetween his scales. Good, we can get back to training, and you can finally clear your head. It's one thing to have to listen to it all day, but another to try and get some sleep. I don't know how you get any at all with your strange and confused thoughts. Arden said with a flick of his tail. Erais turned to Mesaraih. "You coming? Or would you rather cause a little fuss in the Empire?" She asked him with a small smile.

Mesaraih wasn't sure what he should do. He didn't want to leave Erais, but he might cause her a distraction. "I don't know. If you think I'll distract you, then I guess we say goodbye for now, unless you think it would be okay for me to come," he said. He didn't want to go if she didn't want him to, even if he himself wanted to.

Erais looked at Mesaraih for a moment. "If you come you won't be a distraction, but it's up to you. I don't want you to come if you just feel obligated to protect me." The last part was said seriously. She didn't want them having to think they had to protect her at every whim. After all, she was a rider. That and the fact that she hated it when people thought she wasn't strong enough to protect herself. She had killed enough Shades to prove that she could handle herself. Because of her the Empire had lost very valuable assests.

Mesaraih laughed. She was getting proud, but she didn't get mad at herself. If it was anybody else, he would have had a sharp retort already coming out, but he knew it wouldn't be very smart to do so. "I'll come, but not because I think you're defenseless. I just don't really want to be too far away from you," Mesaraih said. He was feeling rather happy right now, even though normally he would be burning with frustration. It felt good to be able to handle situations in such a controlled way.

Erais smiled, she would be glad to have him near. Oromis wasn't exactly a soft teacher. When you trained with him, you trained. After you woke up you train all day, only to fall asleep before you could wind down. "Than lets go...it'll be good to see Oromis again...even if he is a hard teacher." Erais said, glad to be able to become more active. She didn't mind these kinds of breaks, but this one was starting to drag on. She wanted to feel that exhaustion, knowing that her limits had been pushed.

Mesaraih was rather surprised when Erais smiled. He had expected a more angry or cold response, but she didn't seem to have minded him coming along as he thought she would. Mesaraih did not complain, though. He knew it was good for him. He started to gather the few small belongings he could, and soon was ready to leave.

Daidrea was staring off in the distance. Its going to be a long road back he thought. We might run into some trouble along the way if we head the quickest way to Ellasmera. We would be getting close to towns controlled by the empire..
But if we went through the Hadarac Desert or the mountains it would take much longer..

Hmm, I wonder what would be best.

He thought about many things. What would we do after Erais is done with her training? Support the Varden? Go our own way?

The many thoughts about the future were giving him a headache.
He looked towards the sky, it looked ominous, maybe something was going to happen.

He realized that his clothes were still ripped and torn from the encounter of Aerdiad. Half of his tunic was gone and his leggings were ragged. Looking in his pack he tried to find some spares. He found nothing..
Heh, I forgot that it was suppose to be a one way trip for me..
Its going to be cold on the way back, just hope it wont slow us down.

"We are going to need to find a place to get some supplies. I'd rather not make a long journey in just my skin. Probably somewhere outside the empire though, I'm not exactly popular at the moment," he said with a touch of sarcasm.

Mesaraih agreed. They needed supplies, but they weren't exactly the most highly thought of people in the Empire. He looked towards, the sky. Everything seemed so unsure at the moment, and he felt rather uneasy. He had a small feeling of foreboding, but he shook it off. It wouldn't get him anywhere to worry. "Do you know anyplace outside the Empire?" Mesaraih asked Daidrea.

Daidrea shook his head. "The only area closest I can think of is Surda, but we would have to head back this way again and that would take alot of time, I was hoping to stop somewhere along the way but I am not familiar with the area."

Erais was quietly standing next to Arden, she was watching the two for a moment, thinking of places around that wouldn't arouse the Empire. She knew the area quite well, after spending so much time here. Erais pulled away from Arden and walked over to Daidrea and Mesaraih. "I know a place. It's a very small town and is often over looked by Galbatorix. They are very trustworthy, having hid me several times from soldiers and twice from Galbatorix himself. They are honest people and are surprisingly good and blocking their minds. It's only a two and a half day ride, four if it's by foot and about a day by dragon." She said. The small town the one spot that she didn't have to worry about anything.

Mesaraih listened to Erais quietly. It was their best chance, but for some reason he just couldn't help feeling unesy. The foreboding came back, and in his mind he felt an ice-cold chill settle. It would take a lot to melt it. He did not voice any of this however. He didn't want to worry anyone. "Then let's go," Mesaraih said calmly.

Daidrea was a bit hesitant at first but after a bit he agreed with it. "Alright, lead the way Erais."
Although he did not like going into the unknown, Daidrea trusted Erais in what she was doing.
I must be on guard none the less. Even though she says the empire is blind to this town, there could be still some potential enemies.
Daidrea picked up what was left of his things and began to follow Mesaraih and Erais.

Erais nodded slightly and started to walk at a fast pace. Arden lumbered behind them, shaking the ground slightly as he walked. Many places were a familiar sight which was part of the strange winding road that lead to the small town. It would be a few days before they got there, but it was the closest thing to home for Erais...that is if she ever had a home. The people were simple and honest, though were tough and often did things right under Galbatorix's nose without him knowing.

It was starting to get dark before Erais decided they should take a break. The sound of a small brook came to her ears and she got off the path and walked over to it. "If you guys are okay, we can make better time during the dark. We are about to tread on dark ground, allies of the Empire litter the path ahead. Arden will have to stay airborne most of the time. Though night travel is much easier on the roads. That way we won't cause any trouble or suspicion." Erais told them after drinking some of the water.

Mesaraih nodded wearily. He wasn't in the most recovered state quite yet, and rest, no matter how little of it, would be welcome. Mesaraih went towards the brook and drank some water, then laid down to rest. There were too many things going through his mind to sleep, but at least his body would recover a little.

Daidrea was also feeling weary. Normally he would be fine for a short trip, however, hes been putting a good amount of energy from letting his emotions pour out so it took some toll on his mind. Daidrea went to get some water and returned to the others. As they were setting up to sleep, Daidrea was looking at the sky. "We should try to rest for a few hours before continuing."

It was getting cold, Daidrea got a blanket from his pack. It was small but it covered his chest so he did not freeze. He curled himself up and tried to sleep on his side. Daidrea fell asleep instantly. Oddly again he dreamt of Erais, but he saw Mesaraih now. It made him shudder. A voice spoke in his mind. "Ah, getting jealous, arnt we Daidrea?"
Daidrea woke up in his mind. He looked around and saw Aerdiad. He gave his usual laugh.
"You again?"
"Oh come now Daidrea, why so unfriendly? My only wish is to help you."
"I find that hard to believe after what happened last time."
"Please, whos choice was it to give up their body, hm?"
Daidrea became silent.
"Geez, why dont you just go after the girl and be done with it?"
"It would hurt both Mesaraih and Erais if I did."
"You weak hearted fool, shes going to choose one of you sooner or later."
Daidrea didnt reply this time.
"Hows it going to feel after you lose her? Can you accept that pain? I could always relieve you it you know."
"Get..out.."
"Sorry, didnt catch that."
"GET OUT!" Daidrea launches a large fireball at Aerdiad. He vanishes leaving behind a echoed laugh.

Daidrea awakes sweating and breathing heavily. He yells out garbbing his head with his hands. His head hurt badly, his world was spinning and his vision became blurry. Then his world became dark, passing out again.

Erais had been sitting against a tree after they had agreed to rest for a few hours before continuing in the dark. She had tried to fall asleep, but her body was restless and she wasn't tired in the least bit. Sighing she gave up and decided to just keep an eye out on the surrounding areas. You should at least attempt at some rest. Arden told her. He had to take his own resting at a higher elevation, so he wouldn't be spotted. Even if I tried, I couldn't. I'll be okay, get some rest yourself. Erais told him before leaving his mind.

It was quiet, which was nice compared to what it had been. She let her eyes drift close and let her thoughts wander, since she couldn't sleep. It had all been quiet until she noticed that Daidrea had become rather restless in his own sleep. Her eyes snapped open and she quickly got up. As she was making her way over to him, he woke up yelling in what seemed to be pain. Quickly she slid down next to him. He had stopped yelling, and he seemed to be out cold. "Daidrea?" She asked taking him by the shoulders

Her stomach began to feel uneasy and she was afraid something had happened. Something that might had done with Aerdiad. "Come on Daidrea, you need to wake up!" She said shaking him. He wasn't responding, which only made her become more worried. "Daidrea!" She said more loudly and slapped his face lightly. He wasn't waking up and fear gripped her as a thousand terrible possibilities filled her head.

Mesaraih turned to Daidrea as he saw Erais trying to wake him up. His stomach seemed to contract as he remembered his previous encounter with Aerdiad. He slowly stood up and prepared, just in case he came back. He would gladly skip another encounter like this, but it didn't seem likely. Mesaraih grimaced slightly as he looked at Daidrea's unconscious body.

Daidrea woke yelling "No!", he grabbed his sword and seemed to be pointing nothing but air. He was breathing heavily again. He lowered is sword. He realized that Erais was right next to him staring. He moved away shocked that she was so close. He caught his breath and tried to put on a calm face.
"Forgive me.." He put his right hand over his face and tried to clear his head...and trying to hide his redness from Erais being so close.

He quickly grabbed some water and splashed his face.

Erais searched his face worriedly as he wasn't responding. It seemed as if he wouldn't come out of it, until he was bolt upright yelling "No," At the air and pointing his drawn sword at nothing. She looked at him startled, what in the world had just happened? He covered his face, looking closer she saw that it was a bit red. "Are you okay? What happened?" She asked him, putting her hand on his shoulder subconsciously, wondering what had happened. In her mind she hoped no one had heard them. That would be an encounter she wanted to avoid.

Daidrea was very tense at first when Erais put her hand on his shoulder, then he became relaxed, it felt soothing.
Trying to to find words, he finally said, "Aerdiad..just being a stubborn fool.."
He was still breathing fast, but he was starting to feel some what better. He drank some more water. He then thought about what Aerdiad said, and he a look of concern came across his face. No.. do not fall into doubt, dont listen to him..

Erais frowned at Aerdiads name. The fact that he was still a possible threat wasn't good. Hopefully Daidrea had a grip on himself and wouldn't give in again. If he did, than Erais knew they probably wouldn't be able to pull him out of it. It could be possible, but only if they took very drastic measures. I hope he will be able to stay ahead of Aerdiad, and not fall into the same trap. Erais thought absentmindedly. "Do you want to talk about it?" She asked quietly.

"I'd rather not repeat it but..I can show you what happened...there just things I dont wish to say to you directly."

Reluctantly, Daidrea put his hand on Erais' forehead. A vision went into Erais' mind, recalling Daidrea's conversation with Aerdiad and what happened afterwards. A long fight occured between Daidrea and Aerdiad. Towards the end Daidrea got knocked back onto the ground. Aerdiad went over to him and raised his hand over him. "You wont go back this time."
"No!" Then the vision ended.

Daidrea pulled his hand away and turned away from Erais. He didnt care about the fight but what he said before then. "I didnt want to lie to you anymore but I didnt want to repeat what happened so this is the only way I could show you."

Mesaraih felt sick as he remembered Aerdiad yet again. It must be terrible to have to contain somebody like that inside of you. Mesaraih couldn't imagine what it could be like, but he knew that it wouldn't be a comfortable experience and felt sorry for Daidrea. He grimaced as he thought about how strong he had been and the wounds he had received on his part. That loser, Mesaraih thought angrily.

Erais got the same strange feeling of leaving reality. It was a very peculiar thing, but by now she was getting used to it. Being absorbed into the vision she watched it carefully. After it ended she looked at Daidrea, not sure how to respond to what she had seen. "I can understand that, thank you for letting me see. He is strong Daidrea, but you are most certainly stronger than him. Don't let him fool you, what you may think be a lost cause, just might not be one some day." She said softly, not sure how everything would unfold.

Daidrea felt more confused than ever. His head dropped looking towards the ground. Why must this go on?
"I feel so lost, everytime doubt fills me, darkness reaches within me and spreads. You give me hope Erais, but it gets harder every time, I dont know what will happen later if it consumes me too much. I dont know if I can be saved if Aerdiad takes over again. He is still under me, but eventually, he will take me when I am most blind."

"If that should ever happen, save yourself over me, your life is worth more than mine. For I fear if it happens again, only I can be brought back if something important affects me both physically and mentally."
Daidrea turned towards her again. "You have taught me not to throw life away, nor should you Erais."

Erais slapped on the face. "How dare you say that!" She said mad. "Your life is just as important as mine or Mesaraihs, or anyone elses for that matter. Stop letting him affect your life like this. It is by your own choice that you're letting your self feel this way. Just stop!" Her voice was stern and her eyes were on fire. "The darkness may spread through you, but you have something that will always win against it. So stop wallowing in self pity!" She continued to say while staring him straight in the eye.

"It won't happen again because you're strong. You hear me? It won't happen again." Erais wouldn't let him look away from her. "No matter how hard it gets, you are so much stronger than Aerdiad lets you think. He only takes what you give him. He's powerless if you stay positive." She stopped for a moment to take a breath before continuing. "I wouldn't be throwing my life away, if it meant saving yours." Erais said quietly, more kindly as well.

He turned towards her again and embraced her with her head over his shoulder.
He didnt want to hink of anything else besides that for now

Erais felt a bit embarrassed at her outburst towards him, but she didn't regret it. She hugged him back, wondering what would happen if Aerdiad did take a chance to come back. Inside she knew she was afraid of the outcome, it only spelled trouble. It was the kind of trouble she wanted to avoid. Erais couldn't deny that she felt whole when Daidrea embraced her, it was a strange feeling. "We need to rest a bit more before we travel again." Erais told him, pulling out of his embrace almost unwillingly.

Mesaraih saw Erais and Daidrea hugging. It wasn't the best sight to his eyes, but he knew he couldn't get jealous. He still had to keep his promise, and he wasn't going to break it so easily. He wasn't going to break it at all. Looking back at the sky, he just thought about what lay in store for them, wondering what would happen in the future.

Post Re: Another chance?
Erais moved back over to the tree she had been sitting under previously. Letting herself relax, she realized she was tired. Glad that she could get some sleep, even if it was only four about an hour, she let herself fall into a dreamless sleep.

"You failed once...what makes you think you won't fail again?" A sinister voice broke through Erais' mind defenses. "You let Erador die, what makes you think that this is no different?" The voice asked her darkly. Erais only stood in the dark, confused as to what was going on. "Why are you even bothering to travel with those two? Mesaraih, the stubborn and jealous man; and what about Daidrea? You're traveling with someone who is split inside. We both know he'll crack soon." The voice laughed coldly.
"You shouldn't let them stay with you, you'll only be their deaths. Why are you even trying to hold onto what you can't have?" He muttered right night to her ear, but when she turned around to see who was there, all she saw was empty space.
Erais felt cold as she woke up. The moon was partly covered in dark clouds.

She had no idea what it had meant, she wasn't even sure if it was an actual dream, or someone breaking into her mind. Either way she was troubled and got the feeling who ever it was was right. She'd only ever brought death to the ones she loved, what did make this different? Standing up she walked over to where the other two were. "Lets go, if we start now we can cover a lot of distance without being noticed." Her voice was dull and hollow as she woke them up.

Daidrea sensed something was wrong with Erais. It was something he recognized. Something he knew..could it?
No its not possible..when? Damn..

"Erais, are you alright? You dont seem well." He wanted to see her response to see if his theory was right. It could be trouble if he didnt act fast.

Erais felt chilled on the inside, she wasn't sure what she should do now. Her eyes had seemed to dim and the life had left them. She blinked a few times before turning to face towards Daidrea. It had taken her a moment to comprehend what he had said. She opened her mouth to speak, but the strangers words flooded her mind and she closed her mouth. What was the use of speaking to them?

"Fine, just...nothing." She finally muttered, her voice seemed empty as she spoke. Slowly she lifted her eyes to Daidrea's face, wondering what was going through his head. "Lets just keep moving," She said slowly, the words haunted her and she immediately fell quiet and looked away from him.

Daidrea didnt need to hear any more. He jumped in front of Erais. Her eyes were fading. So, she has one as well now it seems. It doesnt seem to have taken a definate form like me with Aerdiad so theres still a chance to purge it.

Only way to remove it however is with dark magic, so it's going to be risky he thought.
His eyes became fully black. He uddered some inaudiable words and launched his right hand at the face of Erais. It did not hit her, instead it went into a black void into her forehead. Daidrea spoke more words as the void became larger. At last he pulled out some form of dark matter that he tossed aside. The figure stood up and turned towards them. It hissed at them in rage from being yanked from its host.

Erais almost fell down when Arden caught her with his broad head. She wearliy stood back up dazed. Daidrea looked back towards her, well at leas she didnt pass out, since this thing was apart of her shes the only one that can kill it.

"Erais, wake up!" He drew his sword.

Erais watched Daidrea dully as he came up in front of her. He had a concentrated expression as he stood in front of her. She could care less, her life felt meaningless right now. She stared at him dully, but her eyes grew wide as it looked like he was going to hit her. She cringed back, but when the blow didn't come she opened her eyes and only say a foggy cloud over her eyes.

The strangest feeling came to her as the strange presence was being detached from her. It took most of her energy, so she started to sway as it left her body. She felt dizzy, but luckily Arden had come just in time to help hold her up. Her eyes fluttered, trying to clear the strange fog that had settled over her vision. It was finally cleared and she looked around, even though the dark thing had been removed, its work had almost been done. The doubt and self pity was still lodged into her, her eyes were still lifeless and her thoughts seemed more clear, but they were depressing.

She looked over at Daidrea, he seemed worried and almost in panic. Looking past him she saw a dark shape. So that's who it was... She thought to herself, almost grateful to it for opening her eyes up to the truth. At least that was how she saw it. "She's too far in..." The voice hissed at Daidrea, laughing coldly. Erais could feel herself giving up, she would have fallen if Arden hadn't been there to hold her up. He wouldn't go into her mind, it was to painful for him.

Daidrea stood silent looking at the ground. "Erais, after all you done very me, after all what you have said..you are going to give up? I wont let you fall into the same darkness I have, you still have a chance to get rid of this thing."

She just stood silent. Daidrea was getting irritated. "Then I suppose I have to open your eyes!" Daidrea stood upright. His black eyes vanished and walked over to Erais. The dark being was strugging to move against Daidrea's spell, unable to move.

He grabbed Erias' shoulders and gazed into her eyes. Suddenly, they both appeared into a vast field. The sun was setting and it was shining bright. And in the distance laying in the field was her old dragon.

Daidrea was standing beside Erais. He did not speak but he said in her mind. It is no illusion Erais, your dragon is really there. Your old partner does not want you to be this way, nor does your new one. If you let this thing consume you, you will lose everything like I have. Because of you I'm able to fight for another life, a new one. It can be difficult attimes and I do falter, but you were always there to help me out of it. I can return this favor to you and keep the things you love. It's not too late.

He turned towards her and smiled. He walked behind her in the other direction. His old dragon stood. Im sorry Elyrana, my connection with you has grown faint lately, but now I hope we can remake it. He stood there with her and watched Erais seeing what she would do.

Erais didn't respond as he talked. Her mind only drifted further and further into the place that Daidrea was fighting to keep her out of. The dark creature may have been removed from her, but it's hold on her was stronger then it should have been. He walked over to her, but she gazed past him, not really seeing anything.

Light flooded her vision and she had to blink rapidly as her eyes adjusted to the quick light. It had been enough to pull her out of her current state a little bit. Erador? Erais asked in disbelief, not hearing a single word Daidrea was saying. She only stared dumbly at her deceased dragon. Just staring at Erador made all the unwanted memories she had locked away flood back, pulling her back, and further into depression.

Erais, Erador said, she stood up from her lying down position. The setting sun glinted on her white scales. Her silver eyes staring at Erais sadly. You've put your self through to much. You need to let my passing go. Arden is a great dragon, but you need to trust him as you trusted me. Erador said calmly to Erais who stood there in numb shock.

I can't Erador. It was my fault your dead. I have caused so much death, I can't go back. I should have left everyone alone, I should have stayed in the mountains and let myself wither away and die. Erais finally spoke to Erador, her grief at seeing Erador again was making things worse. No Erais, you have saved lives! Eradors voice echoed loudly through her mind.

After that Erais shut her mind off from Erador. Erador felt despair as Erais was falling further away from help. She tried to battle through her defenses to talk to her, convince her that it wasn't her fault; but she was too strong.

Erais walked away from Erador, sadness consuming her. "Daidrea, please, take me back." She pleaded with him as she came close enough for him to hear her. This seemed to just make things worse for her. "I don't want to be hear," Her voice cracked slightly and she could feel the emotions starting to build into tears.

He stared at her sadly. He walked up to her and embraced her again as she began to cry. He gave a small smile. "Tears means you use your own eyes again.. I'm sorry Erais, but I felt with out Erador nothing would have seemed to bring you back."

"Dont forget Erador's words Erais, for every single one is true. Dont end up like I did." He let go of her and grabbed her shoulders again. Gazing into her eyes, they appeared back into reality. He moved away from her.
He grabbed his sword and went over to the dark being still bound by his spell. He raised it and a glowed a bright green, he slashed downward cutting it in half.

A loud scream filled the air and it disappeared in a black smoke.

Erais felt numb more than anything as she felt the tears run down her face unwillingly. She didn't even realize when they were back in reality. She let herself fall to the ground, sitting there while trying to stop weeping. Even though she was more herself, there was still a hold on her and she still was a bit unresponsive. The scream of the dying reached her ears, but it did nothing to help her, or stop her.

Erais, please don't be like this. Arden told her gently, but left her mind when he realized that she wouldn't respond to any of them for a while. "We should keep moving." Erais said standing, her eyes weren't as dimmed and dull as they had been, but the life hadn't returned to them. As soon as I can, I need to leave them. I won't bring about their deaths, or help it along. Not as long as I can keep from them. Erais told herself, her mood worse than it had been.

Daidrea looked at her puzzled. "I think it would be better if we stopped to rest. Even though that thing is dead it still has an affect on you. You need to clear your thoughts, for some prove false no matter what they might be."
He walked a short distance looking at the sky. "Erais, I know that look better than anyone. It was trying to manipulate you into thinking such a way. You dont have to say anything now but we are going to stop. You really need to know what your about to do."

He looked over to Arden and spoke to him in his mind. Arden, you may be her dragon but you play part of her more than anyone else. I cannot be the only one that must gives Erais counsel, surely Glaedr taught you that. You may have to do things against what she thinks to protect her. It can result in that many times in the future.

Erais stopped walking, and turned around. "No, we need to keep moving." Erais said slightly coldly. "If we don't move now, than when we travel during the day, we will be caught and the Empire will be alerted." Erais said, started to walk forward again. "I know what I'm doing," She said quietly, her voice almost dark.

I would, and I know. Glaedr taught me much, but she doesn't trust me fully. She has become very good at sealing her mind off, or at least parts of it. Everything from her past, its all sealed off. She knows how to keep me out when she isn't strong enough to put up strong blocks. If you knew what she was thinking right now, you wouldn't speak with her either. I've tried, please believe me, I have. Arden told him, trying to speak with Erais after he spoke with Daidrea.

Getting annoyed, Daidrea calmly responded, "I'd rather fight the Empire than with you Erais. Your only going to make the people around you cold if you speak coldy. And what madness drove you to block out your dragon from your mind so considerably? Your minds should be one. Have you forgotten what it means to be a rider? You lose one dragon and you reject the next?
What has become of you Erais?"
She seem to have ignored him and turned away. He gritted his teeth.

He appeared in front of her in almost an instant. "Erais dont take me for some fool with hindering words!" He felt dark power rising within him. "I am not trying to hurt you....I'm trying to help you.

"Why do you try to run after that has happened? Do you think Mesaraih or I would not follow?"

Erais kept her gaze forward, she heard what he said, but she deiceded to ignore him. She needed to start now if she was ever to keep them out of her life, she had to stay cold and indifferent to them. Erais kept her expression calm and blank. His words stung her greatly, and they reached deep, but she didn't move or respond. She had become very good at concealing her emotions and thoughts. "Maybe I don't want help, maybe I don't want you to help." Her voice had an edge to it, and her words were said harshly.

"I'm running because I need to. I would only run harder if you followed." Erais had been shocked when he appeared almost out of nowhere in front of her; but she held her ground and didn't flinch.

"...Fine then, since that your blinded and wish to throw it all away, I guess no matter what I do will do anything anymore. Not even my love for you. Do what you wish."

Daidrea turned away and began traveling in the opposite direction heading towards the Empire. He released his Dark Form, not caring if Aerdiad tried for control or not.

His power flowed about. I guess all I am good for is killing anymore..

Erais didn't make any sign that she had heard him, but she did, and it hit home. Something inside her snapped, but she wasn't sure what it was. She turned around and watched Daidrea walk away from them, confused. Erais! Arden roared loudly in her head, startling her. I know that you haven't ever been able to trust me fully, not once have you allowed yourself to put your life in my capable claws. Now you are just being a stubborn fool! He broke through her mind, scattering all her thoughts as he went on, letting his pent up energy loose.

Daidrea has risked a lot for you! Now you're letting him go! I fear Aerdiad might come back into power, and from what you've done, I doubt that you could save Daidrea! You are a darn fool! Erais wanted to say something against Arden, deny what he was saying, but as she watched Daidrea's retreating figure, she couldn't. He loves you, he tried helping you, he has given a lot for your sake. Then you just go and throw it away! Arden couldn't express how much emotions were built against her right now. I swear, if you don't go after him now, than I'm afraid you both will be lost. His tone was grave, but it held a threat.

Erais began to feel torn. She wanted to proceed after him, but her pride and doubts were clouding her mind and judgement. So she stood there, watching Daidrea walk away. Arden left her mind and took to the sky, needing to be alone on his own. Erais had made a grave mistake, and he knew she'd pay for it. He just hoped she'd come to realize her errors before Daidrea was gone completely.
Deep inside Erais, she screamed at herself to go after him. She yelled his name over and over, but she couldn't break through the barrier that was keeping her from getting out.

A voice entered his head. "Heh, I told you that it would happen. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!"
Daidrea ignored him and continued foward.

Post Re: Another chance?
Mesaraih watched as Erais turned dull and cold all of a sudden. He saw most of what happened right until the end, when he felt a small, evil feeling kind of smoke go through his body. He groaned, then fell to the ground with a thud. Why are you still here? a small, cold voice asked in his head. If you can't keep a promise, then don't follow her anymore. You're a failure. Think about it. When have you really done anything for her. All you ever did is cause her to despait time and time again. Just leave her to Daidrea. You know that it's the only way she'll be happy. Isn't that what you want? Or are you still as foolish as you have always been with her? "Shut up!" Mesaraih yelled loudly. "It's not true, get out, you're the fool! You're- making- it- all- up!" Mesaraih had trouble standing up to this foul thing, whatever it was. It seemed to be eating away at his independence, at eveything he beleived in. Making one last effort, he pushed away from it with all his might, and with a sickening splatter he felt it fall to the floor. He quickly got out his sword and cleaved it in half. It disintegrated into tiny little black dust, that flew away into the distance. He staggered. The parasitic being had left a terrible feeling in it. As much as he hated to admit it, it had been right. No, he thought. He wasn't right. He just took all of my doubts and twisted them into lies. Convincing lies, but lies nonetheless. He shook away all the remnants of the parasite, washing away all the impurities it had left him with. It took a long time, but he was finally cleansed of the thing. It had been surprisingly strong, but Mesaraih was glad he had been able to resist it. As he looked up again, he saw Daidrea walking in the opposite direction of Erais. Daidrea looked murderous, as if he was turning into Aerdiad, and Erais looked slightly dull but more confused than he had ever seen her. He ran towards her. "What are you doing? Where's Daidrea going?" he asked.

Erais could feel everything vanish from her, now she just felt empty for what she had done. Daidrea had left...Aerdiad was mostlikely in his place. What have I done? Erais asked as the reality of what had happened had settled in. I drove off my dragon, I drove Daidrea away, and I'll most likely drive Mesaraih away. Erais took a sharp intake of breath as a pain shot through her side.

"He's...gone...Aerdiad...I...gone..." Erais sputtered, not really hearing Mesaraih's question. All she could think about it what she had done. She began to gasp for air, she felt trapped and she felt like dying for what she had done. "He's...lost...death..." Erais barely choked out. "What have I done?" Erais asked aloud, her eyes snapping up to the place where Daidrea had faded into the night. How could she get him back? Why should she try? You need to at least try, you made this big mess, so get rid of it. She told herself sternly.

Erais took a few steps before stopping. She knew if Aerdiad was able to take control again, she doubted that she'd live through the encounter. "Mesaraih...I've...I messed up." She said, still in shock of what happened. Her breaths were spread out and she tried gasping for air, she bent over as a tear fell away. She was scared, not the death kind of scared, but scared of what she had caused.

Daidrea ran through the night heading for the nearest town in the Empires control. When he arrived, he ran in and looked for the closest thing to attack. When he started stirring up trouble, soldiers came running towards him in many numbers.
He smiled looking at his future victims. He began hacking away. The soldiers had no chance of surviving. After he was through with them he began launching fireballs at the building. People were running in terror, trying to flee from his wrath.
Daidrea was truely lost.

Mesaraih looked at Erais. He got a little idea of what had happened, and if it was right, things were bad. She was throwing herself in her stupid self-doubt again, and Aerdiad was back. "Don't leave, just stay here, please don't run away, I'll be back," Mesaraih told her. He ran off after Aerdiad, wondering how far he had gone in. He finally found him in the distance, blowing up a town with dead people all over his feet. He looked like a cold-blooded assasin. "Hey, remember me!" Mesaraih yelled at him. He drew his sword and tensed for the battle. Aerdiad was going to have motivation this time, and he was probably going to be worse than before.

Post Re: Another chance?
Erais began to shake terribly as she wept over what had happened. She had driven Daidrea away, and from what she understood, it seemed like a hopeless cause. "Daidrea...I'm so...I'm so sorry." She wept against the ground. The moon was covered by thick clouds and it was almost completely dark. It was cold and Erais shivered on the ground, her tears stopping as she sat up. "Mesaraih?" She asked catiously. He didn't answer. She hadn't heard him leave at all.

Erais thought about what had to happen now. An idea came to mind, but she knew that it was suicide. Daidrea was probably gone, and this sacrifice of her own life for him was probably a waste; if there was any ounce of Daidrea in Aerdiad body, than Erais knew he'd be able to hear her. Arden, before I do this, I need to know that you are willing as well. I hate throwing your life away with mine, but I need to take this chance. Erais sent the thought out, hoping Arden would understand. Go. He whispered back to her sadly.

Erais got to her feet and ran. Soon she saw a town completely devastated and lifeless. Aerdiad and Mesaraih were fighting. Daidrea...please... She felt a sob choke out, hoping she wasn't too late. She ran forward and threw Mesaraih aside with her body weight. Stay back, this is the only way. Please do not interfere. Erais told him, her voice was strained as she stood a few feet away from Aerdiad.

"I know you took your chance at this again Aerdiad, but if Daidrea is still alive in you, than hear this. I can't say anything to justify for what I have done. I can't take back anything I did. I can't make you come back, but I'll put my life down for you, right here and now." Erais said, hoping Daidrea had heard it. She ripped her sword off and threw it to the side. "Now Aerdiad, if Daidrea's really gone. Than kill me, but if he's the person I know, than you'll be frozen where you are and won't harm me. I was a stupid fool for what I did, but I hope Daidrea can forgive me. If he loves me the way he says he does, than he'll come back strong and keep you from slaying me." She said defiantly in Aerdiad face. Mesaraih I swear if you intervene, you'll regret it.

"Heheheheheh...hehaahaHAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHA!!
You simply amuse me to no end", Aerdiad took his sword to his side. He began walking towards her. He stood near her face to face.
He raised his sword and launched it towards her shoulder. He stopped less than inch from striking her.

"I-Impossible.." he tried moving it downward. He couldnt. "Gah!"
He moved away from her. "Your a nusance..". he began to walk away.

Erais smiled slightly to herself, Daidrea wasn't gone. He was still in there. So she hadn't ruined everything completely. There was one more thing she could try before she'd have to fight Aerdiad. "Wait!" She shouted and ran towards him. Mesaraih look away, or you'll get hurt. Erais quickly told him before she moved in front of Daidrea. "Daidrea I was a fool, I'm sorry, and I love you." Erais said quickly while Aerdiad was caught off guard.

Quickly she put her hands on his shoulders and kissed him. It wasn't quick, but she didn't linger on it for very long. "I know Daidrea had to have felt that." She said pulling away. "Daidrea I really was a fool, please come back. I'll try to do what I can, I know I can't say much to repair what I've done to you; please come back to me." Erais quickly backed away from Aerdiad after whispering that in his ear. Now she had to wait, see if Daidrea was willing to come back. Or stay locked away behind Aerdiad.

Daidrea slowly gained control again as he began to walk away. No..I should go back. As he was about to turn around, Erais appeared in front of him. He tried to say something but out of no where she kissed him.
Almost passing out from the lack of energy and sudden shock, he savored every second of that moment.
He felt so warm on the inside, he never felt it before, it was the greatest feeling.
When she moved away, his eyes werer completely normal can his body reverted back to the way it was.
"Erais.." was all he could say before passing out onto the ground.

Erais watched as his eyes returned normal instantly and the last traces of Aerdiad were gone. She sighed in relief, smiling slightly when he said her name. She able to to catch him in time before he hit the ground. Carefully she lowered him and herself to ground. Erais wasn't sure if she should be worried about him passing out, or if it was from all the events crashing down on him. She decided against trying to wake him up, and just let him be; but she wasn't going to leave his side. She knew now that even though that her doubts and fears were true, she wouldn't be able to leave him.

Mesaraih looked in a confused way at Erais. He didn't have any idea what she would do. When he heard her words however, his heart seemed to stop beating. He growled. If Aerdiad killed her, Mesaraih was going to pulverize him. He stood back and was releived to see part of Daidrea still in control. Mesaraih didn't look away as he kissed Daidrea. He flinched a little, but other than that he remained with a straight face, nothing except a nerve twitching on the side of his forehead giving it away. He watched impassively as Daidrea passed out, and didn't say a word after that. He only looked at them with an emotionless face, because no matter how ripped apart his heart was, he had a promise to keep and he wasn't going to let his heart control him. It was a sacrifice, but he was willing to do it if it was for her.

Erais slowly stood up from Daidrea's side and walked over to Mesaraih, a bit worriedly. "You okay?" She asked him, a bit worried about his reaction. "I'm sorry for how I acted earlier, I shouldn't have given into doubt. I'm really sorry for how I treated you and Daidrea. Forgive me?" She asked him quietly, her face towards the ground in embarrassment from her earlier actions. She regretted them greatly, but knew no matter how much she wanted to, she couldn't exactly take it back.

"I'm fine, and you have nothing to apologize for. You did what was neccesary," Mesaraih said calmly. He felt like taking out his heart and ripping it apart so it wouldn't pain him anymore, he almost wished he would die so he couldn't feel anything, but he remained with an emotionless expression, not giving away any of his pain. He had numbed himself from expressing any emotion.

"Not true." Erais said quietly. "I was being selfish and cold, I should have never treated either of you like that. I was trying to look for some sort of salvation or redemption from what I've done in my past...but there is none. I realize now that I could never really leave either of you." She said sternly, making him look her straight in the eye. "Please, be honest. How are you really doing?" She felt as though he was keeping something from her.

"Well, to be honest, I feel like ripping my heart out," he said emotionlessly. He looked at her straight in the eyes, probably the only thing that could give away how he was really feeling. He felt himself shiver slightly, but he controlled himself immediately. "And it was necessary. Doesn't matter if it was an attempt at redemption," he continued. His voice did not break, his face was calm and impassive, and his breathing was regular and even. To him, he was practically dead. There was no warmth in his body.

Daidrea's head was spinning by the time he awoke. Their smoke from the burning buildings around him was making him cough uncontrolably. He struggled getting on his knees and hands he couldnt get up, he had no energy left within him.
His vision was blurry and he was confused on what was happening. Still partially blind he looked around, he could not see anyone except the bright flames of the destroyed town. He was still unable to speak from coughing.
Trying not to waste more energy, he laid back down on the ground on his back this time.
He was trying to remember what happened. He remembered Aerdiad about to strike Erais then it was blurry again. Erais...? Mesaraih...?
He couldnt feel either of them, he felt nothing. He began to panic, realizing what he might of done.

"No it was not!" Erais said loudly. "I should have listened to Daidrea, but I didn't and now I'm paying for it!" Her tone was slightly angry. The dead appearance with Mesaraih hurt her, she wasn't exactly sure why he was this way, but she had a feeling that it was probably her fault...again. The smoke stung her nose and the heat from the fire was in the extremes, but her attention was far from that. The way Mesaraih looked was killing something inside her, and soon she felt hollow and a bit empty.

"Fine, just don't get mad. Why are you yelling, anyway? What am I doing wrong?" Mesaraih asked. His voice was starting to get more emotion, but it was still rather calm. He didn't want to appear jealous or mad at anything she said, and he wasn't going to act impulsively anymore. It hurt, but if it was within his power to keep his promise, he would do it.

Erais felt her cheeks heat up in embarrassment. "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean too, sorry." Her voice seemed strained now. "No, I guess I just got to caught up in my thoughts." Erais quickly said, now feeling bad that she had yelled at him. "I didn't mean to, sorry." She whispered.

Daidrea couldnt stand it, the thick smoke made his eyes water and kept making him cough. The flames drew closer to him as building began to colapse and teir debree landing near him. He turned on his stomach trying to avoid the smogs and he began crawling with his arms away so that nothing fell on him.
He leaned himself against a untouched building. He still couldnt see, his eyes kept failing him. He still felt nothing around him except the emense flames around him.

Did I kill them..? No.. No..! He was trying to remember anything, any sign of them living. His memories blurred, his exhaustion caught up with him.
His eyes stung for tears filled his eyes.

Mesaraih looked up. "It's okay, I just didn't know why you got like that all of a sudden." This time, despite his emotionless state, his words came out tenderly, if almost unwillingly. "You should go check on Daidrea, though. I don't want you to focus on me when he's the one that's suffering more," he said, returning to his unemotional voice.

In a split instant Erais remembered Daidrea when Mesaraih mentioned his name, still back in the flames. "Oh no," She said quietly and looked at the tall and thick flames, the smoke would be suffocating in there. How could I have left him in there? She thought to herself and quickly ran towards the flaming city, feeling bad for leaving Mesaraih alone, when he seemed to be hurting. Looking around, she knew it was a death trap. Erais let her mind wander for a moment, nothing. Without thinking twice about what the consequenses might be, she ran straight into the fire. She tried remebering where she had left him passed out. After a while she was able to make it there.

Her lungs ached and her eyes stung, she coughed and coughed, not able to breathe properly in the thick smoke. "D-Da-i..." She tried coughing out, but she couldn't fully form the word without breaking into a fit of coughs. She became worried, wondering where he could have gone. Looking up she realized that the flames seemed to be closing in. She felt trapped, for a few short seconds a pathway opened near a burning building. Erais took her chance and ran, only to find herself in a maze of fire. This was a mistake, She thought to herself upset, and stumbled off, trying to find a way out of the flame and smoke.

And she yells at me for being reckless, Mesaraih thought as he saw her run straight into the flames. He painfully stood up and ran towards the flames. He started worrying about her, the flames looked pretty thick. Mesaraih drew his sword and sucked all of the flames into it, restoring him with energy and leaving the de4struction of the houses visible. It looked like it had been ravaged by a long, terrible battle, and smoke was still coming out of many houses.

Daidrea felt pain leaving him as the flames disappeared. He looked over and realized he had been burned on his left arm and leg.
He was barely able to stay awake. He managed to stay upright against the wall he was sitting against. He was still unable to see and move. Tears kept pouring out. Still thinking that he killed his friends...his love..

However he sensed some one near again, but he was still too tired to tell who it was. Almost frightened by it, he used his good arm to reach for his sword.

Erais was laying against the ground, coughing until small bits up blood were coming up. It felt as though she was suffocating, she could barely breathe with the smoke hanging about like a thick fog. Her eyes were half way open when she saw the flames disappear, but that didn't take the smoke away. She continued coughing weakly as she kept inhaling smoke. I'm so sorry Daidrea, She thought quietly, cursing herself for leaving him behind. Lying against the ground, she didn't know how this could get any worse. It was so painful and agonizing that she wish she were dead, instead of barely being able to breathe and coughing up blood.
