Gender: Guy Affiliation: Dragonriders Dragon: Avadius	Forsaken OOC: Anyone can join IC: Snare looked up as she heard something behind her, movement, though in her human form she could hear the faint patting on the ground of a predator stalking its prey. Even in her human form she had wolf senses. Turning around she saw a leopard jump at her. In a single motion, she pulled out her sword and stepped aside, slicing her blade through the cat. Once it fell she cleaned her blade. Thinking of what had happened earlier made her sad, but it was the only thing she could think of. She had managed to be accepted into a small human village, she hated it, being around humans, but they had accepted her... for a time. Then one day she turned to her wolf form and unknown to her a person saw and called village soldiers to attack her, she fled, but the even was still seared to her mind. Thinking those thoughts, she skinned and gutted the leopard, and took the meat to an old abandoned fortress she called home for now. It was dark, and dity, but she did her place to make it livable. When she reached the abandoned fortress she stopped at stared, she had been forsaken by the only place in this strange land she had called home, and left by the ones she had started to grow use to. She should have expected it, these lands were cruel, her past had left her, and her present and future and forsaken her. Still, she wanted some company, she had befriended a pack of wolves, but they were hunted down by poachers. Once she entered the ancient fortress she stopped, she heard talking, someone was in there. Walking closer she could hear the voices more clearly, someone had entered her home, and that she would not accept. One of the voices seemed familiar. "My lord, someone lives here, we couldn't find the inhabitants though." "Likely a fool elf who was too poor to find his way, or a group of bandits. Kill whoever you find!" Crimson demanded, swinging his sword through the air, "Once this fortress is redeemed, we will start our invasion into Du Weldenvarden. Now get the slaves outside! It is time to clean this trash heap up!" Crimson ordered. The soldiers rushed by, including by the door Snare stood at, but none seemed to notice her. Crimson walked out of the same door way, and brushed against her, it was then he noticed her, and she recognized him. "Crimson? You're alive!" Snare shouted in joy. Crimson eyed her, pleasure formed on his face, Good, the fool is alive, even better chance to use her and twist her. He thought to himself evily, "Yes, I am alive, and I killed one of Equinox's followers, the fool Quasar. She was no match for me." Snare smiled and replied, "Good, nothing is a match for you." she said. Crimson gave an evil smile, the fool was growing close to him, good, it would be even easier to use her. "Snare, how did you come by this? It was you who lived her wasn't it?" "Yeah, why are you here Crimson?" "To expand my empire, it is time to bring order to this world! You know what I mean don't you?" That was a lie, but Snare did not know, Crimson just wanted power, but whatever made the fool serve him would be better, he enjoyed using people. "Yes, I do." Snare said happily, "Crimson, what is this place?" Recently he had managed to undo some of Galbatorix;s control over him, including the oath he had sworn not to kill any of the king's high ranking servants. It was not an easy task and it took a great energy, but Natagath had finally nullified the oath he had sworn. "Now if I could just chane my true name somehow... I'd be free from all his other spells too." Because he was now free to kill the king's minions, Natagath decided to start with Crimson. He had heard the tales of this evil dark elf and how he was terrorizing Alagaesia. Someone needs to put that scum in his place once and for all. If only Violeta could be here to help me..., he thought to himself as he quickly made his way inside. Natagath saw that there were many of Crimson's mind slaves searching the place. Getting in without being seen was out of the question, but then again stealth was not Natagath's style. He retrieved one of the crossbow clips from his side bag and slid it into the side of the weapon mounted directly on his right arm. It already had one bold in place, ready to fire, in addition to the five bolts stored in the clip. Natagath knew that once he acted, he'd be in for a real fight. After putting up some protective wards around himself, Natagath step out from around a corner, aimed his right arm at one of the mind slaves, and fired the crossbow. _________________ And then Saphira ate Edward, Bella, and Jacob. Ordering his soldiers nearby to find the attacker, he as well went towards where the sound came by. So Equinox and his little band of renegades have already discovered I was here? Or is it someone else? he demanded through mind contact to his soldiers. After walking down a corridor, it was then he noticed a man with a crossbow in hand. Rising his hand he fired two fireballs at him, each blocked by wards "You are smarter than most of the renegades when they discover where I hide. Most don't even think to ward themselves even if they can." Crimson pulled out his sword and eyed the man, "Why are you hear? Tell Equinox and the other fools who lead the resistance that I will kill any messenger or enslave them! I don't take kindly to you kind. Or are you someone else? An agent of the Varden? One of Galbatorix's minions who finally realized I'm out for my own gain? Or perhaps someone else entirely" Snare followed after Crimson wondering just where he was going. She heard the crossbow, but doubted the castle was under siege. She had seen no signs of an army on the move when she had been in the forest. She heard talking and hesitantly went to see who it was. A man gripping a crossbow was standing in front of Crimson. Snare gripped her sword, whoever the man was was an intruder who would soon die. I certainly remember them. I'm someone that the Empire never should have messed with. They did unspeakable things to me, sealed me in this acursed armor, and took away everything I held dear. Now I seek to makle them pay, one tyrant at a time. You just happen to be the next one in my crosshairs." The melee blade on Natagath's left arm sprung into the open position and he looked at Snare as she addressed him. "I'm no human. I am an elf, or at least I was before this happened to me.", he said refering to the armored suit that completely encased his body. He continued, "Oh but I do have business here. It is with him though, not you." He looked back at Crimson, "I don't know this Equinox person you keep going on about. I fight my own battles." After his wards deflected Crimson's fireballs, Natagath chuckled and replied to the evil elf's comment, "Why thank you. I learned the hard way the price of being unprepared for battle. Now it's my turn. With that, he used one hand to form a swirling vortex of air on the floor in front of him and used his other hand to shoot fire into it, creating a tornado of white hot fire, which he then launched at Crimson. _________________ And then Saphira ate Edward, Bella, and Jacob. I only joined him to further my own plans, that fool was only a tool to me. I managed to take several thousands of his soldiers to my own side." Crimson sneered. He watched the tornadoes come near and he only stared at in and laughed. "Do you think that can beat me?" He made the tornadoes dissipate in the air and put the flames out with water. Putting up his own wards Crimson said coldly, "I can see you hate the empire. Why don't you join me? I can give you revenge, I will let you be governor of the empire once I conquer it. I will let you personally kill Galabatorix. If you do not serve him, the Varden, the fool elves, or Equinox then you do not need to be my enemy. Join me and you can have your revenge. Besides, I'm in need of strong soldiers." Snare glared at Natagath and shouted, "You dare accuse Crimson! He has done nothing! He only means to bring order-" Crimson cut her off and said, "Now Snare, let me handle this. Make sure the soldiers are cleaning this place up and getting ready for war." Snare nodded and ran off. Crimson smirked, she was so easy to use. "Now you, you seem to know my name so tell me yours. Or are you going to continue to try and kill me? Truth be told, he knew it would not work. It was a spell he use to test all his opponents. Then Crimson offered him a chance to join his crusade. The thought of getting rid of Galbatorix was very enticing, but he had anticipated Crimson would make such offers. Scum like him always did. "You're a clever liar, I'll give you that much! I have already been one man's tool and I'll be damned I be someone else's tool as well! He paused, the added with a hint of sarcasm, "Besides, what would my dragon think if she came home and found that I had become the new tyrant in the land? I doubt she would take it too well. No, I'm not a power-hungry monster like you." After Crimson sent Snare away, Natagath demanded, "So who is she, another person you seek to turn into a mindless slave? As for who I am, I go by many names. Most people just call em Monster, but you may call me Number 7, as it is engraved on my helmet." He was not willing yo reveal his real name to Crimson. Most people believed he was dead and he wanted to keep it that way for the time being. Natagath then replied to Crimson's final comment, "I can say the same thing. Many have tried to kill me. I've had to fight the Varden and the Empire, shades, wizards... Once I even killed a rider and his dragon, unwillingly of course. As long as you collect and send me taxes and swear your army to me, once you get one anyway, you could rule how you want. You wouldn't have to be a tyrant. As for Snare? No, she isn't my mind controlled slave." He didn't tell the elf that he was planning on using her. If he wanted the elf into his army he couldn't tell him that, he didn't seem like the kind of person to accept using someone. Crimson laughed as he mentioned Equinox, "He is not one of my minions, he's a renegade dragon I do not hate dragons, don't get me wrong there, they are strong, and I am not foolish enough to underestimate one. Equinox is trying to send the world into chaos, he as slaughtered innocent people and has led armies after me for trying to help those he's harmed." That was another lie, but the man didn't need to know that, that he didn't know Equinox made the lie much easier to conseal. "Now, why are you hear? If you have no plans on joining me I suggest you leave. I will not try and take you over for a mind slave." Crimson personally would love to, but he had to act as if he meant no hard to better the chance of the man joining him against Galbatorix, even if he wouldn't he had better things to be doing than going after more mind slaves. Snare wandered the Forsaken Fortress and went to an upper level. She cringed as she saw several skelitons, some with weapons lodged in their bones. She wasn't sure why, but something seemed to be drawing her up here. She looked deeper and jumped back in surprise, an ancient man sat down starring at her, but he was still alive. "Who are you?" she demanded. He looked at her and smiled, "Ah, it has been a long time since I had company, come, sit." She sat down and stared at him, "Who are you?" He looked at her and said, "I have no name, but you may call me the Spirit of this fortress. I lost my name after I died." "You're a ghost!" she said with surprise, the man nodded and he changed to a younger man. "I was killed during the siege of this fortress. My army lays hidden hear waiting for the one to awaken us and we will serve him. We lied dormant from ancient magic after the fortress fell. We will be awaken by soon, I can feel it." This man may be able to help him get out of this suit. The thought of being free from his metal prison No wait, what am I thinking? I won't destroy one monster by helping another rise to power. That won't solve anything! Besides, Violeta would never forgive me. Natagath felt that if he could get Crimson alone, perhaps he'd have a chance of defeating him, but not while Crimson was surrounded by allies. He would have to come up with another plan. Gender: Guy Affiliation: Dragonriders Dragon: Avadius	Re: Forsaken Crimson thought about it, though he wanted an answer right then and now, this man was powerful, and the more allies he had would help, "I'll give you time. But do not kill or take anything out of the fortress." he said. It would be wise not to insult a potential ally, unlike other fools in the past he realized that. "If you do join me, you will be a commander in my army. You seem strong and intelligent enough to lead a battle. Your pay will be good. I will give you time to think about this." Crimson said and motioned for his soldiers around him to leave the room. Crimson wasn't sure if he trusted the man, but Galbatorix had already forced him to swear an oath once it seemed so he probably wouldn't take kindly to having to swear one to himself. As he left the room Crimson felt something, a strange draft that couldn't be explained, if he was anyone else he would have said it made him nervous, but Crimson wasn't about to let even the slightest bit of fear go into him. No, fear was for the weak. Still, he did sense great power in this fortress, he would have to try and unlock its secrets. Snare looked at the strange man; ghost, and thought about what he said. She herself wasn't skilled much at battle other than fighting, but Crimson... if he were to get another army who knew how much he could conquer! Still, she felt something odd about the plan. Maybe I shouldn't do it? What of the chance I'm wrong? she asked herself. Shrugging, she looked back at the ghost, "I will help you, I know a man who's a great general, he wants to take the world out of choas and give it order. His in your fortress, let me get him." Snare said. The man thought for a moment and replied, "Let me think on this for awhile young werewolf. We are not supposed to select someone buy what the living says, we are supposed to go by our own standards given to us. But perhaps this man could be what we were looking for?" "What do you mean?" "We cannot do that, we have to go by-" "No... werewolf?" The ghost soldier stared at her in surprise, "You do not know your a werewolf?" "I... I can't remember anything after I was ship wrecked, I thought I was always a wolf that could turn into a human." Snare replied with her head down. The soldier looked at her and said, "That could be, you are a werewolf, but perhaps not of the kind I'm used to. Perhapse just a shape shifter than, it is rare, but sometimes it happens in wolves, though mostly from the land of Inidarum, perhapse it was your birth land? Anyway, leave me, I must consult with my fellow soldiers to see if anyone in this fortress is worthy for us to become their army." My trust has been abused too many times. I shall return shortly." With that, he walked back toward the exit. As he walked outside, he began to ponder how to use this situation to his advantage. Natagath was not about to swear an oath to this man, but perhaps there was another way to earn his trust. That dragon called Equinox came to mind. He thought to himself, I'm not about to go and kill some dragon I don't even know, and certainly not on this guy's say-so. However, perhaps I don't have to... Perhaps I can learn the truth. If Equinox truely is a rogue, murderous dragon then by all means, I'll get rid of him. If he turns out to be innocent though then maybe I can turn him into an ally.[b] Natagath walked into the woods nearby and sat down on a boulder to think some more. he was still worried that this dark elf may break into his mind. However, Natagath figured he had nothing to lose by trying. [b]"Alright, I'll give it a go." natagath said to himself. He looked down at the stream in front of him, however, and walked slowly to the bank. "In case the worsh should happen, I want to see her one last time." Natagath said to himself as he knelt by the water. Scrying was never something he was good at, and there was no garentee that Violeta was even in scrying range, but Natagath had to try. he didn't even know if his beloved dragon was still alive. How come I didn't think of this before? he thought to himself as he muttered the scrying spell. Very slowly a an image of a violet dragon began to take form. Violeta! He gasped in surprise and relief. She was alive and well and appeared to be curled up asleep somewhere. He had no idea where she was though. natagath watched for several seconds and the dragon lifted her head and began to look around. She knows she's being watched..., he thought to himself as he cut off the spell and the image faded away into the water, leaving only the brutish reflection of his metal helmet dancing in the water.. It brought Natagath great relief to know that his dragon was fine, but it saddened him that they still could not be together. Finally, he turned and walked back to the fortress to give his answer. He found Crimson and said, "Crimson, I've made my choice. There are some terms I'd like to discuss first though." _________________ And then Saphira ate Edward, Bella, and Jacob. Though Galedrim had joined freely, he wasn't foolish enough to know everyone would join without terms. "I'm glad to see you have come to accept. What are your terms?" he asked him. Snare thought about what the ghost said and walked down to a lower level of the ancient fortress. It really was forsaken, everything was rickety and seemingly weak. She wondered if this by chance once belonged to the Gray Folk, she didn't know what they were, but in her journies on this land heard of the ancient race. She walked to find Crimson and tell him, he would need an amry to bring stability to the world. I was thinking of something more along the lines of acting as a hired mercenary. I can carry our whatever task you need, provided it does not conflict with my standards. My standards being that I don't kill civilians or surrendering enemies. I can bring prisoners to you and you may do with them what you wish, but I personally don't kill surrendering enemies. Another reason you should let me work as a mercenary is that Galbatorix knows my true name. He could spy on me at any time and if he were to discover me working for you, it could expose your plans to him. If I were just a hired mercenary, you would still have plausible deniability. Second, I do not kill people's families. If I have a problem with someone, I take it out on them and them alone. Third, I have never been good with leading large groups. I'd rather lead small squads of soldiers. And when I lead a squad, I wish to hand pick the soldiers who come with me on missions. Lastly, as you can imagine, I hate being trapped in this suit. If you agree to find a way to free me from it, I won't charge you for my first few missions. Going for someone's family was a good way to draw them out, but his demands were simple enough. Besides, there were several people Crimson needed killed. "I accept your demands. I will try to find a way to get you out of that armor. Why keeps you in it? An oath to Galbatorix?" Crimson looked at the armor and said, "It could be melted off if you were willing to let it be destroyed." He doubted the man would, but even so, it would make him weaker, and if he did have plans on betraying him he could easily be killed. Looking behind him he saw Snare approaching. You can kill him, though I'd prefer it myself, as long as he is dead. His mind is broken so it shouldn't be to hard, but it has made him more dangerous." Crimson didn't mentioned he had killed Quasar, Eris' dragon. He didn't think the man would take to kindly knowing he had killed a dragon that was trying to free the dragon he told the man was evil. Not only that, but Snare would also begin to doubt him. He glanced at Snare, soon he would be able to convince her to swear loyalty, and then he would betray her by openly using her. The thought made him smile inside. Snare smiled at hearing Eris' mind was ruined. That meant Quasar was dead, more of Crimson's enemies.
