So many names for the one character... Or is it one name for many characters? Here are the answers-

Aeraldi was born as a grey dragon, not too special but he did learn quickly. He flew before most dragons and breathed fire before others did as well, but apart from that the only reason he was special was because he was grey.
During his childhood (You can read it with the link in my signature) he began to split, the two sides of his ancestry tearing themselves apart. The White and Black dragons had been at war for so long that their hatred ran in their veins and when they merged within Aeraldi they began to tear each other apart. Hence the pain each time Aeraldi changes forms.
The only reason Aeraldi lived through this experience was the magic that his mother and father had imbued him with when he was still-born. This instead caused him to revert to either his White form or his Black form, resembling both his mother and father.
While they are two personalities they are still one dragon and when they merge they gain the power that a dragon that old would have.
