Skills: Fighting: Silas grew up on his own and taught himself to fight, but don't underestimate him. He's incredibly fast, and strong as well. He can fight just as well on the ground as he can in the air, but he prefers to remain airborne.

Stealth: Silas can sneak up on anybody, even when he doesn't mean to. He only makes noise when he wants to, and even then it somehow seems muted. Even his wings are built more like an owl's than an eagle's, allowing for flight with the slightest possible noise.

Personality: Silas is a quiet gryphon. He grew up on his own with no one to talk to and views words as tedious. He prefers to show what he means or is about to do with pictures, unless it's complicated, in which case he actually communicates. He's extremely bashful and shy, which seems to enhance his dislike for talking. When he meets someone for the first time, they have to be the one's who initiate a conversation with him, otherwise he'll just blink at them and walk (or fly) away quickly.Despite his quiet ways, Silas is extremely easy to get along with. This is in no doubt due to his ability to listen to each side of a story and then tell the people involved exactly what he thinks. He will not coddle you if you come to ask for advice, tact is not in his nature. If you want to be lied to, go to a bar and listen to a fisherman tell his stories. Silas is extremely proud, but also even-tempered. He finds it hard to be stealthy when the smallest things set your temper off. When he does get angry though, he remains calm. Something about him though let's you know that he's about to tear the source of his anger to shreds though, and whoever it is usually backs down. Quickly.

History: Silas hatched alone on a cliff in the Spine. At first being all by himself disturbed the young gryphon, as they are creatures much invested in family and friends, but eventually he became used to it and even to prefer it. When you're around other creatures, they always want to talk or make noise of some sort. Silas loved the wild nature of the Spine and how everything in the mountains worked together (willingly or not) to survive. He lived quietly for the first few years of his life, but when he was three years old, some hunters from a village stumbled upon the cave he had claimed as his own. The hunters startled the young gryphon, and he must have startled them, for they attacked and he defended himself. When it was over, Silas had an arrow in one leg and the hunters were dead or seriously maimed. Saddened by what he had done, Silas flew the hunters back to their village and left them there to be found. He knew if he took them into town, the villagers would know he had done this and would attack him. He screeched one time so that someone would come to see what made the noise and find the men, and then left.
He traveled farther into the mountain range, away from any villages where people might wander into the Spine and into him. Silas remained in his new home for a few more years, training himself to fight in a way that wouldn't seriously hurt someone, unless they were trying to kill him. By the time he had perfected his own private style of fighting, he had begun to yearn to see the lands outside of the Spine. So at the age of seven years, he left the mountains and began to travel Alagaesia. In the three years since then, he has discovered a strong dislike for cities or anywhere else there is a lot of noise. He's also discovered a hatred for the evil forces that seem to be everywhere in Alagaesia.

Likes: Quiet, flying, quiet people

Dislikes: Noise, talking, cities, and people who harm others simply because they can.

Weakness/Fear: Silas fears cities. All the noise in cities gives him headaches. Small to mid-size towns he can handle even though they give him headaches, but he will not go into cities, period.

Appearance: Silas stands at around 6' 0" at the shoulder. The front half of his body look's like an eagle (like any gryphon.) The feathers on his body are black and the fur on his lion-half is a dark, smoky grey. His wings are shaped more like an owl's than an eagle's, which allows him to move silently in the air. His wings are a mixture of darkest black and grey. His eyes are a dark, smoky blue.
