Maybe sometime I'll leave him sleeping and see how he likes it. Jacia knew she would never accomplish that task. For one thing, Kijara slept so lightly, she sometimes wondered if he got any sleep at all. Also, she was too kind hearted to let him feel the type of panic she knew he would feeel if he woke up in the morning and noticed that she was gone. Just as she was considering whether to make just enough porridge for one or not, she felt Kijara brushing against her mental barriers. She immediately let him in her mind. Your lucky I didn't just pack up the camping gear and leave. Ah, baby sister. Your heart is too soft for that. Kijara replied. Jacia ground her teeth; she knew it was true. Soon after that, Kijara landed and changed back to human appearance and they both settled down to have breakfast. _________________ "Do you hear her?" He had just rescued a few slaves from the slavers that often passed through the Hadarac. His hands were bloody and so were his clothes, but he didn't feel like cleaning himself up just yet. He was too tired. So much had been happening lately, and he hadn't exactly come back from a vacation. He sighed and got up. He walked over a dune and saw the great expanse of sand that lay before him. He noticed two small figures in the distance. You don't see very many people here, Fenirexes told him. Yeah, I know. Wonder who they are... Mesaraih replied. Deciding he had nothing better to do, he started walking towards them. Stay behind this dune. I don't want them to find out I'm a Rider yet. They could be dangerous, or be working for Galbatorix, he told Fenirexes. Deciding that it was best not to seem like he was sneaking up on them, he greeted them from a distance. _________________

He blocked the sun from his eyes and squinted at the figure coming towards him. As it greeted him, Kijara waved back. He quickly positioned himself in front of Jacia and spoke in her mind, "Be prepared to change." There was no need to remind her of this precaution, as Jacia had already been doing so. She had already untied the pack mule from his post and tied most of their belongings onto him. He could run pretty fast if it came to that. He noticed that they had started packing their things, and rather in a hurry. Strange... he thought to himself. When he was near enough for them to hear him without having to shout, he asked, "So what would bring you to the desert? And why are you in such a hurry?" _________________

So far, the black shadow dragon was nowhere to be found, and Faefnir had a feeling it was only a matter of time before he made another move against Faefnir and the ones he loved. As he searched the ground, he saw three humanoids, two of them having strange-smelling-life-liquid, according to his smell. There was a dragon down there as well, one that he recognized... Fenirexes! What brings you and your Rider to my dominion? Faefnir landed with relative swiftness to the dune where Fenirexes was hiding and went down on his belly to hide his huge bulk, partially to stay hidden and partially so he could make eye contact with the smaller, younger dragon. The newcomers have strange blood. You smell that? I wonder what they are. Ask your Rider to try to find out what they are, and in a subtle way. We don't want them to feel threatened. I can see, also, that the little one has a fear of our kind. Ninindel slept of Safria's back, as she had gotten barely any sleep the night before. As Safria flew, that passed over the foothills, and then reached the vast sandyness of the Hadarac. They flew, passing over travelers, until they reached the mostly uninhabited part. They both felt four others, 2 dragons and 2 others, approaching. And yes, I think that's what he's doing right now, he said. Mesaraih raised an eyebrow almost involuntarily at what they said. At first, when the girl spoke, he had thought they were going to the Beors, but apparently they were coming back. It had confused him a little and due to that, suspicious of being lied to. "Well, I'm sorry to hear that... you didn't exactly seem too much like you were in a hurry before I arrived, though," he said. He was starting to feel uneasy. They were strange people, and for some reason he suspected them of hiding something important. _________________

Safria flew closer, only 100 yards away and they listened in the wind as the two parties spoke. They heard they were heading to Palancar valley. "why could they want to go there, to cross all of alageasia just to see one of the drying?" thier thoughts and courisity were one and they agreed to land. They landed about 50 feet away, and walked over to the group. They would have considered hiding Safria, but they had already seen them, and the other two dragons around could be dangerous. It was better as they are a team. They landed abouot 50 feet away, and walked over. Ninindel jumped off Safria and they spoke to the group. To buy time for her to get away, Kijara grimly drew his sword, but stood in a defensive position. He made sure his mind shields were up and added a few more. Jacia circled high above, watching Kijara's back despite the fact that he would be angry with her for not flying away. She had no wish to run like a coward and come back later when the fighting was over. The dragons made a cold lump of fear form in her stomach, but she would not abandon the one person she knew and trusted. _________________ "Do you hear her?"
